Yea...thanks all. As I was running around IC after dusting off my MagBlade to get affix's (I still only have the Magicka one), I stopped and realized....this isn't fun running around doing all this stuff I wouldn't normally be doing over and over again. I mean....for expanding on the map and getting to the delves and other things for the first time if it was a brand new player sure, but I've been playing since 2016 off and on...so yea....scribing just seems like yet another ZoS move to keep me in game longer. Always a catch with ZoS :)

The problem is that you're not interested in Scribing.

Scripts, affix, prefix, chickenix, budgie, and llama all drop constantly from so many sources, and they're curated.

This is a literal case of play the game and you'll get everything you need.

@OsUfi Yea and that's....kind of the issue (but not just with ESO in this case I think).

If I were a brand new player...yea sure just play the game and things will come *eventually*. I've already played the game...like...a lot. The toon in question was going to be setup for just doing vet content.

It's fine though...seasons are coming....I won't be playing this game for much longer.

1 week. Tops. You can do it in 3 days with what? 30 minutes at most of dailies a day? Not even that if you're an end game player.

The weird thing that happened yesterday:
I opened a ROTW and got a focus script (as expected), it didn't say "already learned" so I consumed it on auto-pilot.
The weird part is that when I thought about it a minute later - that was the character that had gotten the achievement for learning all scripts back in July.
I don't know if it somehow reverted knowing that script, or if the game just let me consume it already knowing.

You folks realize that every week the obnoxious altmer vendor in the Scribing hall sells 3 or 4 different scritps, right? At least 1 of each type. 4k-12k a piece.

That's how khajiit got all 20 characters to have every script - cycles around pretty quickly.

You can also buy scripts for fortunes and tel var.

There's also some scripts just lying around the Mage's guilds.

I barely did any PvP and got everything quickly.

So....after several weeks I'm still missing:

    Script:
    Physical Damage
    Stun

    Signature:
    Class Mastery
    Hunter's Snare
    Warriors Opportunity

    Affix:
    Maim
    Vulnerability

The class mastery one I understand, but the others not so much. I'm doing the Mages, Fighters, and Undaunted dailies. I now get nothing but duplicates of what I already have, but none of the above. Am I missing something?

The scribing UI shows you where scripts that you're missing come from. Pretty much all of the ones you're missing are the ones that are lying around in Mages guilds.

They're in the first big zone (Daggerfall), capital city, and end zone (Bangkorai) of each alliance. They are located in the their Mage's Guild. You can put them in your bank before learning it and it will respawn right away if you want to grab them for an alt.

I believe those can mostly be found at 9 different mages guilds.

Yeah those missing ones are part of the Gifts from the Archmagister achievement. They're sitting around in "Notable" Mages Guilds:

    Physical Damage - Vulkhel Guard
    Stun - Daggerfall
    Damage Shield - Davon's Watch
    Hunter's Snare - Mournhold
    Druid's Resurgence - Wayrest
    Warrior's Opportunity - Elden Root
    Vitality - Rawl'kha
    Maim - Riften
    Vulnerability - Evermore

the best way i found to do class mastery was trials

you get 1 drop from the final boss once per day, and you also get drops from each trials weekly quest coffers

so if you say spammed an easy trial like AS+0 on 10 characters, you would get scraps from each character that turned in the quest + scraps for the first clear of the day, could probably do the same with basically any normal trial

and you can always rotate more trials for more quest coffers

if i recall i was getting either 1-2 scraps per trial quest coffer, it adds up pretty quickly

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

That's because the achievement is account wide.

As your characters learn Scripts, it just ticks off in the achievement. That could mean that character 1 learned Scripts A, B, C; character 2 learned B, D, E; and character 3 learned A, D, F. At that point, your account has 6 Scripts, but each character only has 3.

All that means is that that specific character learned the last unique one over your account, but they still had some that they themselves did not know.

Thanks @Necrotech_Master .....ya trials aren't super easy to find these days, so daily random dungeons on about 4 characters has been the last of me eso chores I have to muck with. I'll have it about compete in about 3 days I think.

While that seems like the most likely explanation, it's still a little unusual and basically means I ate a focus script on another character completely unaware. I did dailies on that character (only one to do all the scribing) until I had all the random drops learned, although since I checked via achievement I could have been fooled if everything lined up right. I was funneling any scripts I happened to get on other characters to they one for achievement purposes.

i personally been using an addon to keep track of script knowledge, something like script tracker

it shows on the tooltips of the scripts which characters do/do not know the script and has a menu you can pull up to view all registered characters and which ones your missing (along with where to get the ones your missing)

fwiw, i do 9 dailies per day and most all my active chars are maxed on scripts (it didn't take very long) so i generally sell them off to a vendor.

as above, 'script tracker' is a VERY handy addon to keep up with your status.
