My Goal:
Banner with fire + class mastery + savagery/prophecy

So far I bought banner after doing a lot of pvp. But the other 2 elude me. I have several of say one kind (knockback for example) so I'm guessing these aren't curated. I checked TTC, but for class mastery it's minimum 4 million, and savagery 8 million. Are my only options really to do a bunch of daily world bosses and delves?

The class script comes from an achievement though, so you'll have to check on that.

Yes, and they are curated per character. So if you're in a rush, it's not ideal. I have extras saved up, and if I got a "good" script that I might want on multiple characters (like fire/frost/Brutality/Savagery), I would bank it so I could collect 2 before getting other repeats. WIthout that, it's just a grind, good luck!

Class Mastery you unlock through script scraps through an achievement and buy from the Script vendor. You can buy some scripts each week from the script merchant, Filer Ool in the Archive, and the Tel Var merchant to potentially cut down on your grind a little bit if you already have the Fortunes/Tel Var.

Class mastery comes from the achievement, which is to collect Script Scraps which you earn from:

Class Script Scraps can be found in rewards granted by:

    Completing normal and veteran Trials
Opening normal and veteran Trial weekly coffers
    Appearing on Trial leaderboards
    Completing normal and veteran Arenas
    Appearing on an Arena leaderboard
    Completing the Infinite Archive
Opening rewards for completing daily normal and veteran Dungeons
    Opening daily Battleground reward boxes
    Completing Master Writs
Opening reward boxes granted from completing Elder Scrolls capture quests in Cyrodiil
    Becoming Emperor in Cyrodiil

Then once you have the achievement, you can buy the Class Mastery Script from the vendor.

Other scripts will come from the designated content (As mentioned above) and will randomly be found stocked at the merchants (The bloke in the Scholarium and Ool in IA).

It's worth mentioning that the vendors contents are unique PER CHARACTER, but bound scripts can be swapped between characters. So you can check the vendors on multiple characters to see if a specific script is available and then give it to whomever you like.

There are a fair number of things you can do to get the Class Script Scraps. The only one I know is turning in a Master Writ every day (because the rest of the things are content I don't do - like dungeons etc I think, not really sure now).

Anyway, I'm about done with that at all. I have very little use for the whole scribing thing, though the quests were absolutely marvelous overall. I feel about scribing exactly the way I felt about spellcrafting in those single player titles - totally uninterested.

What I did was do the daily mage's/fighter's/undaunted dailies and then pick a zone and do the WB/delve/Incursion dailies. After that, run through one Cyrodiil town daily (doesn't take long, and don't have to pvp), as well as a random normal dungeon.

Can also do an IC daily (some are very quick, don't have to do any pvp, and if you die, just respawn and keep going), and if you do do some pvp and get a rewards of the worthy coffer, there's another script.

All those together give you 3 signature scripts (fighters, cyro, WB), 3 focus scripts(mages, delve, RotW), and 4 affix scripts (undaunted, incursion, IC) guaranteed. (RND drops an extra affix). Feel free to mix n match any of these dailies for getting the scripts you want.

Those all drop a guaranteed script first box opened each day, and a 25% chance for any further scrips (excluding RNDs, as the scrips are part of the purple bonus rewards, and every toon gets one).

Also, if the scholarium, OoL (infinite archive), and IC vendors have a script you want that week (resets tuesday 10 am EST), you can just straight buy it.

Script drops are curated so it may take a while to find the specific ones you're looking for unless they come up in the weekly vendor or you spend a lot of gold to buy one. Personally, I enjoyed this aspect as it gave me a reason to do daily quests I may otherwise ignore. Collecting scripts has given me a good reason to play various content.

If you're not finding the one you need and are ending up with duplicates then the one you're looking for is probably found through a means that you aren't completing (wiki says savagery/prophecy is through IC quests, undaunted delve quests, and daily DLC incursion quests).

You only have to do it once. After that for subsequent characters it just costs gold.

I think I got my class signature script unlocked for my account within 3 days of scribing going live, just by playing normally.

I haven't seen anything from scribing that is enough OP to justify the grind. The warden class mastery effect is pretty strong, and there are some good scripts to combine together and make a pretty strong skills, but nothing truly stands out that I've seen. Also, I'm not seeing any content creators post how to's beyond the basics. Nobody's posting recipes for script skills that are uncommonly strong.

So ya, I'm just not seeing the appeal to put into the effort. And, by the way, I have 18 toons that know every script yet released. I just haven't figured out how to really take advantage of completing the grind, but that might just be me. It seems pretty niche and only really valuable if you're trying to fill in a skill that your toon doesn't already have access to easily.

Oh, too, I relied heavily on the "script tracker" add on to keep track of what toons knew what scripts, and what activities needed to be done to get the missing scripts for each toon. It sped up the process tremendously.

I run in PvP guild raid every day for at least two hours. As I said, there are some niche purposes for some of the scribing skills, but for the most part it's a bust that doesn't justify the grind. If just a couple people in raid group have the class mastery skill and the banner skill running then nobody else needs them.

If I'm missing something, can you please post some script skill recipes that are OP and considered mandatory for PvP?

one of the fastest ways i found to do class mastery was trials

each trial weekly quest coffer would give 1 scrap

due to account wide achievements, each character can just use the scraps as they get them to increment the achievement

once you get the achievement, the class mastery auto unlocks on the character that used the last scrap, and then you can just buy it for other characters from the scholarium vendor

doing normal trials is definitely an easy option, and if you have 10 characters, thats 10 scraps per week just from the quest coffers

your first trial boss kill per day per account also awards additional scraps (amount depends on trial difficulty)

if you utilize other sources as well, then i think you could unlock class mastery in as little as 2-3 weeks depending on how many sources your utilizing

Turning in a scroll return quest gives 4 class script fragments/day, in addition to the tasks you outlined. That's why us PvP mains were able to unlock it so fast.

Yeah it took me 10 days to get all 50 scraps. And while I PvP in Cyrodiil every day, no actual PvP is required to get them. You just need to get a scroll quest from your Alliance Base General, and then be in the zone when your faction places it. You could literally never leave the base and get your 50 scraps. (However, be prepared to be berated for standing around wasting a valuable population cap slot and not helping.)

my understanding is unbound scripts are just very rare drops, i dont know if they have a slight chance to replace a bound script or can drop from anything though as i also have not received any unbound ones

i think they tend to sell from a few hundred k gold up to about a mil, depending on the script

I know there are nine free scripts if you check out the various base game MG (and sometimes FG), one per area. For example, there is a script in Davon's Watch's MG, one near Reaper's MG and one just inside the Mournhold FG.

Yes, my question is, where have people gotten them from? Killing a skeever? World boss? Harvesting nodes? Hireling mails? I was looking for specifics.

I've personally looted thousands of bound scripts from rewards containers, so I'm not convinced that they drop from those.

according to UESP, unbound scripts can drop from any enemies, but the chance is very low (probably not as low as say an aetheric cipher, but still rare enough they are fairly valuable to sell)

The other PvP-related sources are Cyro dailies, which give another 14 (all Signature), and IC district dailies, which give another 20 (all Affix). The IC district daily objectives are actually all PvE, albeit in a PvPvE area.

Limiting oneself to PvP also significantly slows down the collection process, as you'd be missing 7 of the 10 guaranteed curated drops per day.

As I was running around IC after dusting off my MagBlade to get affix's (I still only have the Magicka one), I stopped and realized....this isn't fun running around doing all this stuff I wouldn't normally be doing over and over again. I mean....for expanding on the map and getting to the delves and other things for the first time if it was a brand new player sure, but I've been playing since 2016 off and on...so yea....scribing just seems like yet another ZoS move to keep me in game longer. Always a catch with ZoS :)
