Please make a few changes to the chat box ingame.
1. Move out of the bottom left corner.
This is not an optimal spot for a chat box, obviously you want the top right for important stuff, so put it in the Top left corner. Or allow us to position it were we want.

2. Let stay on.
I've tried locking the window, but it still fades out, like a number of people I don't jump in unless I have been reading it for a while, so I can judge they people posting, but if they chats are reasonable I will join in, and even offer advise if I know it.

3. Let us alter our ignore lists.
I've tried finding it so I could remove earlier posters from it, because they are usually further in the game by that point, but I simply can't find it, let alone alter it.

4. Allow us to choose a language, and have the option of filtering out anyone in another language (they will have selected another one themselves).
I'm not being racist, I'm sure French players are at least as equally annoyed by english post as english players are by french posts (ditto for german), and I'm not saying we should automatically filter out foreign languages. But allow us to select a language, and allow us to select only that language, this would improve communication, since we wouldn't have to ignore message we can't read.
ie. I would choose English from the options menu, and then select English Only.

PS. I know this isn't technically a CS issue, but there is nowhere else to post that makes better sense, a Suggestions or General Discussions forum would help.

Well, when i walk in the street i hear all sort of language and it doesn't botter me, but i can understand that it could be disturbing for some people to don't hear english in the main chat. But you have to know that in europe evrybody don't speak english (surprised ?^^), for exemple in France only 35% can speak english fluently, (don't know for other country).

Don't worry the non-english spam for guild recruitement is generaly concentrated in the first zone, it's better later .

And don't forget if they speak in their language maybe it's only adressed to people who can understand them.

I can edit my ignore list with no issues.

Press O (default for friends list, if you changed this, use that keybind) and look in the top right corner and select the ignore list instead of friends list.

    You can remove people here.

I know not everybody can speak english, in general I'm not actually that bothered, I know that's not how I can across, sorry.

But ocassionaly you get a block of other languages, and feel alienated, and I thought they must feel the same when they get a block of English, and I thought maybe we could have the option of filtering out other languages, and other languages have the same option.

I'm not against people speaking their own language, I just feel at the moment It's a hodge podge in the chat, and could use some sorting.

Zenimax have already done this, people just don't use it. /enzone is for English only.
(/dezone & frzone for German and French)

Your problem is that you have to get people to use /enzone, if you can do that, then this is another tick in the box.

<Open chat tab, untick zone and tick zone - English>

    1) The chat box is moveable without any addons. Use the "." button on your keyboard to enter free roaming cursor mode. Hover directly over the "Chat" text on the chat box, hold left click and it can be moved.

    2) There is an option, I believe, in the current system to turn off the chat fade, but I also think there's an addon that leaves it on without "fading" the actual text put into the chat box.

    3) To alter your ignore list, simply go to your contacts, the "O" key is default for that I believe. Then the last option on the right, I believe, is the ignored list.

    4) There are addons that accomplish this already, if I'm not mistaken.

My only issue is the ignore list... it should have no limit on how many people you can ignore...

My issue is, I want the chat box to lock closed because I can't stand looking at the #$@$#@! ads all day. I don't use the chat box at all, but it still pops open about 5 minutes after I close it every time and I have to keep closing it over and over. I can't find anything about this in the forum anywhere. :(

Ooh! I fixed it! I just had to uncheck all the chat boxes under the options.
