The Guilds - Part two(?)

What would you think of smaller DLCs focused on the guilds again? New stories involving the Dark Brotherhood, the Thieves Guild, the Fighters Guild, and the Mages Guild?
y1dws9jbu492.png
I really miss having more influence from them, you know? And I love focused content. So, a story about another Dark Brotherhood sanctuary, or another Thieves Guild in a different part of the world, or maybe some new conflict involving the Mages Guild and the Fighters Guild... It would be so much fun to go back to similar content.

At least, that’s what I think sometimes LOL

No TG or DB for me, so I would not purchase those. And I also have no use for the MG and FG in this game, so I would not purchase those either. Since I sub 4 accounts, I would eventually have them for free, but I wouldn't touch them at all. Wasted years, for sure from my POV.

I would love to revisit Theives Guild/Dark Brotherhood!

And IMHO they missed an opportunity to bolster the FG/MG questlines with new content where they could have made their respective Grimoires and Skill styles only obtainable through new FG/MG content.

It would certainly be nice, once the quest line is completed, to have a few more options for Mage's Guild dailies/weeklies than the existing rotation through the same fetch quests. I've lost track of how many times I've recovered Uncle Wotsit's spectacles, only for the Mages Guild to go and lose them again!

We could still get more Grimoires for those guilds in the future. Plus, maybe we'll even get Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood Grimoires in another expansion!

I don't quest much, but the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood storylines were some of the most enjoyable I've done since I started playing. I think going back and revisiting those guilds and characters would be pretty neat.

Yes I love this idea, they could incorporate some of the Tes game quests like the mages guild ones in Morrowind. They were fun quests and you could stay at the mages guild once you became part of the guild. Imagine having your own room at the mages guild. I also like it when they have lil side quests that include smaller character npcs not always some powerful mage as the focus of a quest.

It could be interesting. Though it depends on how it's done.

Having literally anything to do in Eyevea would be nice though. You go through all the effort with the questline to regain access to the place and then... Ignore it forever outside of a handful of excavations lmao.

Also, having a Thieves Guild storyline where there's a focus on theiving would be nice. So little of the main quest for the Thieves Guild is about thieving...

I think one of the main issues with making more content for the guilds would be how you'd implement it.

Would you require players to have completed the original questlines in order to access the new ones? Or would you have them sitting side by side? Or do you create a brand new location for the new questlines?

Yeah, the 1st quest in the series was the most exciting cuz it was actually thieving, and youre just cutting your teeth on the skill line. But then after that, it's all regular adventuring with a bunch of NPC's who call themselves thieves. Though I really do like the questline as a whole despite that.

A new questline I think should unlock for players who've completed Kari's Hit List. And I'd be content if completing the questline unlocked thiefy Grimoires, Skill Styles, and Costume/Outfit Styles.

But what I'd absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE is if they added the ability for a player who completes it to buy/sell Stolen Items via Guild Trader (a Fence category added to the Traders). Then add items that can only be stolen, but can't be used until laundered. And laundering them binds them. But that I've relegated to the "in your dreams" category. I'd still be happy with Grimoires, Skill/Outfit Styles, and Costumes.

Yes 100% part 2 for all guilds ideally with new dailies that have us go to vanilla and dlc zones.

Tales of Tribute and antiquities are relevant in all zones, while thieves/mages/fighters/dark brotherhood dailies only deal with vanilla zones. Part 2 content that have dailies send you to dlc zones would be nice.

    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

We don't necessarily need a whole new DLC for these. A simple quest chain would suffice. And it could be added across multiple zones even.

The trouble we have, imo, is that we're stuck in the same year in game for a decade. Or did we advance by a year already? lol. Everything happening in the game, happens in one single year. Ridiculous. This also, kind of, means it's unlikely additional major events would happen related to the guilds again. We can't really invent and put major events into ESO because we are in the second era, which is already in the past from the perspective of TES: 3, 4, 5, and likely 6. Although, I do wonder if we already went too far with one world-ending event per chapter.

It would be nice if the DB and TGs was expanded even slightly, even if all they did was add a handful more dens and hideouts to different zones with basic repeatable quests. Although seeing potential new stories, quests and even rewards would be cool, I doubt that'd happen.

I think these would be great! I think the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild could use dailies that are designed with duos in mind (but still soloable) like the Archive with new exploring tools like grappling hooks. I often feel like thieving, but it's lonely. (You can do Heists in a group, it's just not necessary and the rewards aren't worth it). It could also be basegame like the Archive, with good rewards and occasional additions.

We could sneak through new areas in Imperial City or Cyrodiil for rewards for getting past Daedra, make incursions into Daedric realms, or transform into a little mouse or jerboa. I think they should use tech like grappling hooks, portals, glyphs and powerups. (And secret passages! Best part of Heists lol). I honestly would like sneaking through existing overland cities in a like "shadow mode" where you can access secret shortcuts, evade special NPCs that are hunting you, use powers, etc.

I feel like thieving and sneaking haven't gotten new content since these DLCs, even though they've added new areas to thieve in and new stolen goods drops and stuff. It would be cool if there was duo content to do.

Maybe they could add a keyhole daily in inn rooms where you get a daily quest by eavesdropping and getting a lead on something to steal? That way it could be randomized with different voice actors no matter which city you're in.

Maybe we could get a consumable that activates better loot or special NPCs in cities that are harder to pickpocket/reach but more rewarding. Or it's a daily that gives us access to reaching them.

Fighters Guild and Mages Guild wouldn't be as interesting personally, but they could be tied in to a zone quest story since it makes sense that they'd be involved in stuff.

Sounds good at first, but like most other content, it would fall by the wayside after not very long. Unless it's groundbreaking, I don't think it'd be a good investment when there are other plotlines and regions to explore.

Instead, I think we should expand the presence of the guilds in each chapter going forward, and go back through all the previous content and add it there too.

I think every outlaw refuge should have daily quests for both the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood that are exclusive and unique to the local zone. As well as the endless repeatables; crime sprees and contracts. Base game areas get dull to do these in after a while.

Fighters and Mages guilds could get new repeatable quests as well. Maybe something like protection contracts for FG, and research quests for MG.

Not to mention a locale quest for each somewhere in the zone, with returning faces from each guild. The Mages and Fighters guilds could especially benefit from this.

Just throwing stuff out there. Bottom line, all of the guilds definitely need more content.

Daily missions based on new world mini-events, like protecting caravans, would be awesome. For example: you walk alongside a caravan you've been contracted to protect, and waves of enemies attack. This event could pop up periodically in the world, and players could join in regardless of whether they have the mission or not—but having the mission would grant special rewards.

Something similar could be implemented for the Mages Guild too.

I get that escort missions aren’t everyone’s favorite, but they can be really immersive—especially for a mercenary guild of warriors.

Honestly, expanding the existing guilds with more modern features would be amazing. Adding engaging and thought-provoking daily missions would breathe new life into them. I'd personally love to see the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood as part of the base game (I mean, these are iconic experiences in The Elder Scrolls—some of the most memorable moments from the single-player games and deeply missed if you don’t have access).

However, I doubt Zenimax would make those permanently free.
