Maintenance for the week of January 12:
• [COMPLETE] ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – January 14, 9:00AM ET (14:00 UTC) - 12:00PM ET (17:00 UTC)
As said before, it's possible this is a result of whatever back-end updates they made during the server maintenance period.
Like I said, we don't know what they're doing in these back-end updates, and it's entirely possible that they were working these past few hours on employing procedures to take more action against botting. Who knows? They can't come out with an answer to what they did on the back-end because the point to stating you're perform "back-end updates" is to keep what changes you're making private to prevent such illegal procedures in game like botting and RMT from getting around what changes are made.
I'm sure they tested this before it went live, but there's no way you can possibly test how it will work when thousands of players are trying to log-on at once until the patch is deployed. Especially considering that whatever back-end updates they made (all server-side, mind you) could have been really drastic compared to the relatively small patch notes we had for this week when taking the amount of time they had for maintenance today.
Be patient. Things like this are normal affair for online multiplayer games that require these maintenance periods, especially in the case with a game as large as The Elder Scrolls Online.
Restarted launcher four times and I am finally in out of this queue thing. Guess I just won't log out anymore today..esh... Sorry I am not turning off any firewalls or anti virus to get into this game. Mine have NEVER caused an issue getting in before so it is something new on their side.
