Things that should be tradeable but aren't

freewheeler
Hi there are a number of items in ESO that really should be tradeable but are not for some unknown reason :

Scribing Scripts
- these are typically something that would be great for guild stores
- people with one or two chars will quickly have all of them and right now they have to manually DESTROY them (gold items so have to type to destroy)
- people with many chars will look to buy them from guild stores
Infinite Archive collectible fragments (just like the collectible fragments from public dungeons)
- Archival Riddles
- Archival Enigmas
- Erroneous Archive Maps
- Unreliable Archive Maps
- Disgusting Spoils
- Maligraphic Ichors

Feel free to add to this thread with items you feel should also be tradeable. Hope it gets picked up by the devteam

Books from Archive are bound, though they should not.
There are already enough bound furnishings (Antiquities), and considering the Archive is not paywalled, why adding more?

Virtually all books are bound. You can find books in overland treasure chests, and they're bound too. I think the only unbound books are the Pelinal volumes from Mayhem boxes.

I suspect that the reasoning is that these books can drop only if you've already read them before. If you've never read a book, it's ineligible to drop from either IA or overland chests. So I guess they see it as the player having "earned the right" to acquire the book.

I wish all the new books they added at this time were not bound as they are worthless to some people who find them and very difficult to finally get to drop for many that would like them. At least Filer Ool has a rotating stock…

I think very little should be bound, gear from dungeons and trials. Achievement furnishings, sure, but they should then be an automatic reward or unlock for purchase on achievement, not, now you have a minuscule chance of this book dropping from one of the special chests in Scrivener’s Hall… (and I very much like Scrivener’s Hall but I’ve only gotten two books so far from those chests…)

At the very least these should be able to be traded with a partner if they run IA with you. It really bugs me that I keep getting drops that I no longer need that I just end up vendoring because they have no further use for me. The daily reward does shift to the newer drops, however random drops from chests/Marauders/Scamps still drops older useless loot. Make it make sense.

You don’t need to destroy excess scripts. Vendor them for fewer clicks and more gold. The price for most of them is going up to 999g next update to make this more rewarding.

Yes, i totally understand that, considering Shalidor's Library, Mages Guild progression and Mora's Whispers bonus,
but from my humble point of view the situation with furnishings limits becomes really dare.
Promised by ZOS housing feature appeared to add no changes to housing itself:
no deconstructable furnishings, no furnishing bag, no increases maximums, no nothing
at the same time game makers are generously adding many hundreds of new furnishings, and, sadly many of them are bound.
This is just not right. If ZOS adds tons of new furnishings, why they forget to help players to comfortably place or store these?
Shortsighted approach, in my humble opinion.

Oh, I'm just explaining why I think they made the books bound, not that I agree with it.

Personally, I throw all the bound books that I get from IA or overland treasure chests into my trash storage house, never to see the light of day ever again. Would be nice if I could get rid of them by selling them to people who would actually have a use for them.

You should open the house to Decorator permission as default. Then make the house available as a Lending Library. So anybody can visit, pull up the Retrieval Tab, find a book they've never read, and boom they added to their lore library.

You don't even have to decorate it, because after a while everybody will just plop the book down right where they're standing and you'll eventually just end up with a big pile of books. But hey <shrug> at leat you're sharing the wealth a bit eh?

that would indeed be an absolute minimum for the collectibles. Incentivizes grouping up

All style pages should be tradeable, including, or especially, the IA ones. Because it's so, so disappointing to get a style page I can't use and can't trade.

Furnishing item storage is not an issue. (I'm not addressing decoration limit just storage)

Buy up them cheap homes and use them as furnishing banks and bonus it is a free travel point. Each home has its own Furnishing limit, so each is a relatively cheap storage bank. Quick video of my Sleek Creek home. It is a good drop off and pick up location and close to where I do most of my crafting.

Honestly, the scribing stuff not being tradeable was the right thing to do, they actually helped a lot with the recent deflation, this economy was in severe need of a new gold sink, making them tradeable wouldn't be as effective since you're just transfering your gold to someone else.

That being said, scripts did turn into another inventory management annoyance, I wish they'd make them stackable.
@MorvanClaude on PC/NA, don't try to trap me with lore subjects, it will work

Agreed. I think people continue to discount the effect of the scribing script grind on the economy. I alone just spent another 800k or so yesterday getting the weekly scripts from the vendor on all my alts. And this is my 5th or 6th week of doing this. ( started a little late after the chapter dropped.) I did the dailies to get all the scripts on one toon, but for the others I decided to be patient and just get them over time from the vendor. I have 20 toons. It adds up.

I personally am glad the [EDIT: vast majority of] scripts are not tradeable since I think the deflation is beneficial. Obviously, not everyone shares this view.

Survey maps. Feels bad to delete the ones I dont feel like doing, especially when i know loads of farm happy guildies who'd love them.

All the scribing stuff. Inks are so rare I don't bother with it except for the meta support ones so now I've got hundreds of bound whatists I'm never gonna use so why can't I just sell them?

Antiquity furniture. I actually like mindlessly excavating stuff but I avoid it now because I'm running out of space to put stuff. Not being able to properly decon mythics is bad enough. Deleting just feels wasteful.

You can sell them to a vendor, just not another player. However I'd recommend not doing that until the next update as the sale value is going up to 999 gold.
