Is anyone ever going to fix the West Weald wayshrines and stendarr shrine that are essentially unusable?!? Since Launch the respec in Skingrad hasn’t worked. This is wild.

Pleased to see others jumping onto this thread to report the same stuff I've been experiencing.

Well, maybe pleased is the wrong word, because this stuff straight-up shouldn't be happening, and it definitely shouldn't be consistently getting worse over the years.

They have definitely changed something. I've noticed it in many situations, all related to hit box size or calculation.

Back when I first progged Rock Grove I could target an ally with the Guard skill with relative ease. Now I'm back in there and I've noticed a significant difficulty in targeting allies, and it's impossible if any enemies are tab targeted.

Whatever change has been made has made it harder to bash the correct enemy as well, you have to be pretty much inside them to do so.

Tab targeting certain larger enemies has been made more difficult as well.

Just another negative QoL change related to combat fundamentals. Remember when they focused their attention on "fixing" taunts and now taunts have been buggy for years. And blocked drop is still an issue.

So many of us are sick of how broken this game is and are only here due to sunk cost fallacy.

The problem I think a lot of people don't realize is that the issue stems from being in third person. What I mean by this is, when you move your camera to third person, what you see and where you are looking is not actually where your character is looking. Where you are actually looking is what you see when you swap to first person, and it has been like this since the game came out. The third person camera does not adjust properly, even if you have it centered, and swapping to first person will show you exactly what your character is focused on. If you are ever standing by a crafting station that is hard to use, or any object that requires you to interact with it, if you swap to first person you can see that the alignment isn't right and can very easily adjust where you are actually looking from there. Fixing this issue should not be hard.
I play in first person and still have this issue.

I also feel exactly as DragonRacer does.

I use a lightning staff and I have had every single one of those things happen to me. I just didn't know it was related to ESO and not my mouse going out

I honestly questioned if maybe I had a bad PlayStation controller until my friend said the same thing consistently happens to her as well.

Yeah I’ve noticed this and I do think it’s desync and not directly something wrong with targeting. Hitting stuff behind my character comes up frequently enough and it seems like it’s having trouble reconciling where the player is relative to the enemy.

You know it's bad when you can't target a gigantic trial boss that you're literally standing on.

I put in a feedback report about the Skingrad respec shrine the day Gold Road released and it still hasn't been fixed. Not sure why I bothered since I've been pretty sure they don't even read those since High Isle.

You're most likely on console because this was an issue on PC and it got resolved and noted this incremental patch

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/660686/pc-mac-patch-notes-v10-0-6#latest

    However, your first incremental patches:
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/662255/xbox-patch-notes-v1-36-1-0#latest
    and
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/662256/playstation-patch-notes-v2-59-1-41#latest
don't seem to have had that fix, so it may be coming soon.

Nah, I'm on pc. But I haven't bothered trying that shrine since the first time I realized it didn't work and haven't read more recent patch notes fully (just kind of checking for class/combat changes) since I haven't been playing much since May. Good to know though and nice to see. Hopefully console gets it sooner than later too.

My new favourite thing (not) is how I get stuck in the HA preparatory animation but do not come out of it. Stuck is wind up. Can't roll, can't interact with anything ...

Try doing a trial fight on console where you either hard or soft stack. It sometimes takes 1+ minute to even Rez someone because you can’t target their body with all players on it and since on PS5 the Rez button is tied to the options button you end up opening your character’s menu half the time.

That's why you have the cursor in 3rd person view. It goes red when you are on target.

In advanced fight situations tabbing is best friend. The only issue with tabbing is when you have your main target tabbed and you need to bash a close by add the bash won't go to that add but to the tabbed one.

    Yeah noticed this as well.

Now add to this that in an on-going trial fight or during prebuffing people are dropping synergy skills and the synergy hides other interaction possibilities (ready checks, ressing ...)

Lightning staffs are getting worse. Heavy attack feels broken. Couple this with the broken block bug and the resource bug and Stuck in Combat - MYM will be a huge mess.

A strange symptom of this issue is when not tab targetted, for instance just arriving at a wayshrine, you head off to the right but your character turns the entirely opposite direction, almost 180º to then start traveling where you are headed.

This obviously happens even more when tab targetting, say in IA, and your rotation goes the furthest way around. Now that you've heard me say it keep an eye out for it.

HA with staves has been aggravating for a while now, I agree. I’ve noticed more difficulty targeting people to rez and then the latest really weird one for me was difficulty in targeting a Skyshard in Bangkorai! The first thing I tried was to dodgeroll because I thought it might be the same issue that interferes with looting, but I had to approach from just the right angle. It was the Skyshard “waiting to be inducted into the Hall” — I didn’t have any difficulty with other Skyshards in the zone.

Yes, I've noticed when targeting node to harvest it will sometimes shoot me past the item. I have to turn around and retarget. In one case the shot me off a cliff! SometimesI have retarget to harvest even though I'm not far enough away to need to be moved.

Just is in the last couple of weeks.

Targeting with heavy attacks remains bad. The focus is there but will not target. This has been going on for quite a while but is getting worse.

It's been so bad recently, the WW wayshrines, the heavy attack not going off (activating roaring consistently in a trial is so fun now), all that.

I was doing some older dlc zone quests recently, and in some places trying to target the specific person I needed to talk to/thing I needed to interact with was driving me to the edge of seriously raging out, it was so frustrating, always pinning the cursor on some annoying npc in the same room or something. Particularly when there is a "companion" the quest forces on you (at least you can dismiss an actual companion), they always crowd too close and make it almost impossible to interact with quest prompts. Even when the npc is behind me and the button I am trying to press is right in front of my face, it's a coin toss which thing I get to interact with, and I need to do a full dance routine to find the exact spot to stand in and the precise angle I need to have the camera at to progress the bloody quest...

And yes, sometimes going to first person helps... sometimes it makes it worse.
