Its like some of you have never played an MMO before

Watching my son and his friends, the next gen for games like eso/ffiv/whatever...I can tell you their little group focused combat games are not inculcating them into weeks long/hundreds hours long grinds..... the games don't require it, so that style of play isn't what they expect - that ship has sailed.

Build for the future gamers not the ones you had ten years ago.

Personally I think all grind are fine, except the script grind for alt characters. That grind is beyond insane, as I have 20 characters. If ZOS wants me to actually use scribing, I need to be able to actually use it on every character and be able to check all possibilities on every character to see what I can even do with it.

And the script grind on alts isn't just a problem now, but will be every time they add new scripts in the future. Making that same insane grind start all over again. Scripts should be accountwide, there is no middleground.

At the moment I am not bothering with scribing at all: not trying to gather scripts for alts anymore as I want to play the game, not trying any scribed skills as I can't check all characters to see what their scribing possibilities are without fully unlocking the scripts, and not doing the endeavours trying to get me to use this system.

This grind for scripts isn't actually making me want to play more, but it's actually making me want to play less. As right now, scribing just seems like an impossible wall to climb. The scribing system is there, I want to use it, but it won't let me!

PS: I have plenty of ink.

The thing that I didn't realize at first that made the Script Grind for alts a lot easier was that they are actually curated by character knowledge, not just by the achievement.

I was pulling my hair out running every DLC delve daily in the game trying to RNG Flame Damage for one of my alts. Until I found out it was curated - the next day I did two Delves on one of the alts that still needed Flame Damage and it popped right away.

Knowing that at least knocked a lot of the frustration out of the system for me. Sure, it's still a bit of a grind, but it's definitely not fill-out-ancestral-motif-codex levels of grind anymore.

I actually belive zos did decrease it for this chapter. At least the leads are way easyer compared to talvanni peninsula. Scribing farm is not that heavy too even tough i wish for more ink to freely try tings out.

The real problem is the trial being really hard to pug. Still easyer than dreadsail reef.

Aren’t a lot of leads locked in treasure chests AGAIN? I absolutely hate that. I’m thinking I may just give up on these altogether, because some grinding I can take (especially if I figure a way to work toward multiple objectives at once) but RNG/lottery/gambling systems just turn me off. No sense engaging with something that makes me so salty. Hopefully Filer Ool will eventually sell leads locked behind the horrible multilayered RNG of treasure chests instead of static leads that can literally be picked up off the ground! :expressionless:

i think theres roughly about the same amount of leads in chests as from necrom

i will say it does seem the CE treasure maps definitely have a much better chance to drop leads (all 3 of my CE maps gave me a lead)

i dont know avg drop rate from normal treasure maps because i havent gotten any west weald ones yet

I've been playing the new almost daily DLC since release.

    - Aquired one mosaic shard with each first world event per day, currently at 20 out of 30 shards.

-> Simply done while running dailies for the saviour of west weald achievement. (Finished that one btw, nice mount.)

    - Aquired 5 ink in the open world before the latest patch, 2 more afterwards. The numbers shrank since I played through the majority of the DLC before the patch dropped. In contrast to this I finished the scribing questline on 5 characters and therefore received more than 30 ink. - Simply watched something on my second screen as I ran the questline with reasonably less interest into the dialogue (Since I already did the proper run on my main character).

20 days of doing a single world event. = 20 shards.
Spending a few gold on teleporting across tamriel = Enough ink to scribe the spells I wanted for each of my characters and still got some leftover.
