Will builds change much when the gold road expansion, U42 launches?

I'm a returning player that bought the Gold road expansion and I'm not sure if I should reconstruct gear etc now or just wait till June 3. I've already seen some content creators make builds for some classes for U42 but not for the class I want to play. Perhaps there will be more updates to their class builds in future.
I don't want to transmute/reconstruct gear, set up my champion points etc only to then have to chage in a couple of weeks.

✭✭✭✭Generally speaking the meta shifts a bit after updates. However, it severly depends on your prefered game mode. I don't really see scribing doing much in terms of PvE dd but a lot for PvP.
Until they nerf certain outlier sets (reliq in pve, rallying cry in pvp etc.), those will remain a staple base.
Would help if you give us more info about what you want to play.

✭✭✭Bear in mind you're going to have to farm for a while and get to grips with the spellcrafting system before you can make new builds. This was apparently a long grind early on the PTS, which it looks like ZOS subsequently reduced. I still expect it to be a grind.
The biggest impact may come in terms of weapon choice, e.g. to take advantage of a crafted weapon spell. There is also a tanking set that will impact organised groups. If you were planning on running an Elemental Catalyst build, that may become a thing of the past, replaced by said tanking set.
That said, ZOS have been more conservative with balancing lately and, thus, spellcrafting should major on utility rather than large power shifts. My guess is that having the right combination of utility in a single spell will turn out more relevant to PvP than PvE.PC EU: Magblade (PvP main), DK (PvE Tank), Sorc (PvP and PvE), Magden (PvE Healer), Magplar (PvP and PvE DD), Arcanist (PvE DD)

I plan to deal damage in pve on my magden but skinny cheeks hasn't created a magden build for the gold road yet.

Especially the stable shock spam─shocking soul and Sorc Class Mastery Script, they give No-pet Sorc more sources of shock damage, and Sorc Script is also an AOE.
