Trials are horrible right now. Reminding me of the patch they broke trials and the only thing playable was VSO or VHR during the daytime in Craglorn because even that broke at night.

ZoS need to invest more in the servers. Feels like they just upgrade the bare minimum. Weren’t you guys just saying how much money you made from the players dedication? Maybe spend some of it to make the players happy.
Crown Crates are a trap. Don't fall for the gamble! Balance? What Balance? Balance, smellance.

I've spent several years without playing ESO and decided to check it out last month. Signed ESO plus for a month. In this short period, I got disconnected from server several times, went through that down time with the PTS issue, the possibility of a rollback... And since a certain date, I think May 7, something else happened and made me lag constantly, sometimes frame by frame, especially in crowded cities and even during battlegrounds.

I updated my nvidia, removed the add-ons, reduced the video quality... And it apparently it worked, but only for a few minutes. As soon as I used the wayshrine, the lag came back and I was walking frame by frame again.

And I know it's not my PC because the internet is normal and everything else works fine, except ESO, and it all started after one of these maintenance/down times as reported by so many users. I realize it's not affecting everyone, otherwise we would see it in the game chat, but I can't play the game properly anymore.

I'd really like to know what the problem is (it started on the NA server for me and wife and after some time same problems on EU server).
Today's experience really confirms me that it's not a problem with my device. All the way from logging in I had a ping of 180+ to a "stable" 560, when after porting to the house it finally dropped back into the 160 - 200 range with occasional "dips" to the normal 46 - 66 (Which is my usual ping on the EU server.).
And given the fact that my wife had the same ping and lags, it's somewhere on the server side or akamai network or some routing server along the way when not everybody is having problems.

I was playing very late and all last night thanks to my weird schedule. The game was running pretty well except for the normal skills not firing, the game acting like I'm not aiming directly at my opponent, weird delay on breaking free, etc.... you know, the normal trash performance of combat in this game. Well, sometime after 6am suddenly the games performance tanked. I was getting FPS drops, ping spikes, and BGs then became pretty unbearable. Was lagging just walking around Daggerfall waiting for the queue. I was thinking that maybe it was from people logging in (daily reward/quests reset time), but I don't know enough about the technical aspects to say that could do that. Either way, that shouldn't be happening.

But yeah. It cracks me up that many times the only common factor is ESO and yet some people will really try to say it's not the game, that the servers are perfectly fine, and that they have never experienced lag (I find it hard to believe that anyone could have never experienced any lag in any online game so I'm calling straight bs on that one).

Exactly this behavior we had about two hours.
I can't even jump with stupid mount.
Crafting dailies with Lazy Craft addon was pain too. Usualy I take quests for it within less than second. Today 2s lag between taking quests.

Oof, yeah. It's real bad. Just logged in a bit ago and thought I'd do a BG....

Teammates were fully frozen in place, it was lagging bad whenever I tried to do anything, then booted me from the game not even 2 minutes into the match. Crazy how all last night I played with little to no issue and then now there's this.

Just a quick update. I was able to get rid of the lag by reinstalling both Steam and ESO. It's been running smooth now even in crowded places, even tried the aetherian archive trial, no lag.

The problem with the 'I reinstalled and its good now' or 'I lit my cat on fire and now ESO plays better than ever' posts is that...

performance also routinely has been sinking and clearing up on its own, regardless of player troubleshooting. the other week when things got really bad I did do a reinstall (again) as well as a host of other troubleshooting only for ESO to remain so laggy that I couldnt even do daily writs. then, without changing anything, think it was late last week, the lag cleared up entirely, all was fine. Even pvp'ing I was almost lag free.

... and then last night it all came back and half the population was teleporting, half was running smooth, spats of 5 second delays, spats of smooth performance, half the party DC'ing, half the party fine. I have no doubt that /some/ people have troubleshooting they can do on their own to improve things. but there has been consistently problems with the actual service provided for well over a month now (though the past 2 weeks ish have been where more people have seen problems) and it is things we as players cannot adjust. Getting any word from ZOS on the matter would be amazing, but alas, we are left in silence again

I'd really like to hear from ZoS on what they are doing to fix the bad lag we have been experiencing everywhere. Even character loading screens are twice as long.

The players who continually claim "I've never had lag", at this point, after all these years, are simply not believable. The problem is too consistent over both NA and EU servers and to ubiquitous to claim it doesn't exist.

I am being completely honest when I say I never lag. The only person in game that I ever heard complain of lag is playing on an 11 year old computer.

I never claimed that some players aren't lagging but I think it's most likely for reasons other than just server performance or we all would be experiencing it.

The only players who don't have lag at least to some degree every day they play are the players who don't engage in end game content. (they don't PvP or participate in vet trials or vet dlc dungeons)
Don't have noticeable lag in Cyrodil, yes my computer is an monster the 4070ti is the weakest part I think.
The 4070 solved the reminding issues.
Dungeons I never had lag, Trials, not much but had with the 980ti.
It was also an issue where trials was preferably run on the servers also holding the zone for trial for some surreal reason.
But it was years ago. Don't do much BG.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.
