Empty/Bugged loot containers bug (keeping count)

OK so I fairly sure I've mentioned this before but this whole full loot container actually being 'empty' is getting way past a joke.
As a little exercise during my play so far today I thought I'd keep note and well...

All of the containers in question showed the bold write writing indication something was inside the container.

137 containers opened (Chest, Nightstand, Desk, Backpack/Bag)

83 containers showed 'empty' and contained no loot once opened !

That's what, about a 60% failure rate, geez

Totals now 17/5/14 -

1317 containers opened (Chest, Nightstand, Desk, Backpack/Bag)

728 containers showed 'empty' and contained no loot once opened !

Well another 84 containers opened, with 44 bugged/failed.

New totals-

221 containers opened (Chest, Nightstand, Desk, Backpack/Bag)

127 containers showed 'empty' and contained no loot once opened !

That's me done for tonight, need to eat and sleep...lol

EDIT -

Did manage come across 1 motif out of those 221. Wasn't actually trying for motifs but hey... I'm not complaining....lol

OK new totals (bear in mind this is over 2 days)

Updated totals-

554 containers opened (Chest, Nightstand, Desk, Backpack/Bag)

301 containers showed 'empty' and contained no loot once opened !

Math isn't my strong point but I'd say its still around 60% of the time containers are bugged

(and that motif I found previously is still the only one found since keeping these records)

Glad this isn't just me! For over a week now EVERY desk and most nightstands I've opened (that have all indicated they had something in them) were all empty.

What i have noticed is that i get far more empty containers (both showing as opened and showing as closed but with nothing inside) when i am in an area that is significantly below my character's level.

It was very noticeable, for instance, when i was finishing an area like Stormhaven (all quests gray but i'm a completionist) with almost all containers empty, then moving on to Rivenspire and all the containers suddenly started dropping loot left and right.

We're seeing the same thing...they look like they're lootable, but 50-60% of the time or more, they're empty. The majority of the remainder of those contain lockpicks. It's really a bummer we had to resort to such a crazy change. This is killing provisioners who were getting ingredients & recipes from these containers.

Same, so tired of this. Also hit vet zone yesterday and the same problem there as well. So much for finding that rare motif, not to mention provisioning mats. I got plenty of lock picks though........I have got to the point I don't even bother with opening stuff anymore till they fix this. Between the loot drop nerf on bosses, level restriction loot and containers, oh and the high cost of repair, horse feed, bags space and trying to stay geared etc........my wallet is empty. I was not one of the lucky ones who got to farm the crap out of stuff till I am overflowing with gold and stacks of rare motifs to sell now that you can't get them. Come on please fix this soon. Please?

Yeah its a joke. To be honest, I've given up on them as the disappointment after seeing one that hasnt been looted, empty is just too much for me. I rarely see many containers full these days because the Parasites have been through looting everything. Why they couldn't have made them phased to the character and just upped the rarity is beyond me.

Since everyone presumably paid money to play eso and since looting containers is not dependent on another player's effort, he is misusing the word.

I think the word parasite is a 6th grade level word in the U.S. Sadly, many people in the U.S. don't have a 6th grade reading/writing level.

Since when? If I walk up to a cupboard and loot it, its looted to you! You can test this by going into any area with a lot of people and wait for them to loot! They did talk about instances loot or phased but I have yet to see it. Maybe the loot we get is a RNG for each person but regards a cupboard or locker being looted, that isn't.

By parasite, I meant to bots that make it their mission to loot every damn thing. If they don't need it, people should leave it. Also by parasite, I meant the people log on and off repeatedly. Oh and BTW, parasite is something that leaches of something else like for instance, if you have a vampire sucking out your blood, its a Parasite! Do try to quote Wiki's more because after all, they are gospal!

This is making it very difficult to obtain materials for provisioning crafting. I've also noticed a severe decrease in recipes. However, I know have hundreds of lockpicks :P

Yes this is quite annoying, I understand the need to prevent people from loot and log rinse and repeat, GOD only know when they gonna add some sort of stupid log in timer, but the empty loot is almost unbareable. I have OCD I run into every stupid little town, little camp ect and open every bag,chest, cabinet ect. IT has gotten horrible and for what? its not like BOTS were selling food and drinks.

Yep that's pretty much me, I'm a container-holic....lol

Doesn't matter what it is I want to open it and get what's inside. (Not out of greed understand I do all of the crafting professions)
Yes it's nice to get the odd motif(or at least it used to be) but I just want mats. The fact now that something like 50-60% of the containers are bugged is beyond a joke !

At VR2 now and since they patched the whole rinse repeat looting for motif farming I have had NO containers show as lootable except backpacks. A question for the zos developers... Ever heard of a happy medium?

They didn't even change the lootable containers...

All they changed was what you get out of them.

Hence what people are talking about Shillen, is the fact the lootable conatiners, not the bags ect. are with big white letters saying there is loot inside, but when you open them they are empty 90% of the time.

I have also been encountering this bug/problem and 60% sounds about right for the containers that allow you to "E" activate but then go straight to empty with no loot given.

The extra lockpicks have also been very noticeable from the dresser/wardrobe/backpack/etc sources. I saw someone mention prov mats but those are not normally found (at least it seems to me) in those types of containers - or at least not very often. Barrels/crates/sacks for me contain prov mats (do we think today's patch will fix the vet level containers to give vet level prov mats?sigh) while the dressers/wardrobes/trunks/etc contain lockpicks, racial stones, random white quality drink/food items, and recipes. I can't recall right now which containers tend to have the alchemy waters or if that is shared. I loot every container I find, and routinely do a city loop in the mornings - mostly to try for recipes.

Yes, and I agree with the people complaining about it. It's virtually impossible to find motifs or recipes now. If you didn't get them before you're *** out of luck. But that one person seems to think there are less objects that show as lootable when that isn't the case.

I've been bouncing around AD VR1 thru VR5 content hoping to find some more motifs, but I've had no luck, yet.

I found 3 non-rare motifs around release time, but now everything seems dried up. I see players selling rare motifs for 60k to 80k and the gold farmers are selling them through email spam.

I would never buy from gold farmers, but I have to admit, the offer for rare motifs is becoming more tempting. Perhaps Zenimax will consider selling the motifs in a cash shop.

Zenimax already sells a horse in the cash shop. I would say that is a bigger advantage than a motif.
