Terrible post U41 crash frequency on Console

At least on Playstation 5, crashes are extremely frequent since U41 on Tuesday. I'm averaging 1+ crash every 2 hours or so, and I have yet to finish a DLC dungeon without at least one crash in the group, and trials are almost impossible.
It's happening even when standing around, waiting for a group to form, so there's no triggering action that I can see. Crafting, fishing, leaving a house, all have crashed me this week.

I have had 3 infinite flickering loading screens one of which hard crashed the game, a hard crash talking to Jeeba Noo the merchant, at least 7 total hard crashes at this point doing various things (mostly travelling to and from houses, but also in Oathsworn Pit and outside Glenumbra Jester's tent).... lost count. Also crashed twice just to character screen or log in screen when travelling via houses. A bunch of us kept getting the infinte loading screens or crashes refilling ultis for IR prog.FOR THE COVENANT! 🦁

I can not link it to a certain activity. It happens at least once per day (playing 4+ hours a day).
It happened in the new dungeons, but also just in Grahtwood doing nothing, or even somewhere in a very remote
location where nobody was near me.
I've also had way more crashes than normal from others in my groups, so I'm sure it's not just me.1 -
Bodolphin✭✭Same here. Crashed near wayshrines, jumping down stairs never doing anything that might be considered complex. Virtually nothing prior to U41 now 4 crashes in less than 3 days.2 -
greytday137✭✭✭We were in Sunspire last night and had 4 disconnects in 30 minutes. Traveling into the trial out of peoples houses, we had another 4 people disconnect. The disconnects are happening to people with stable internet connections who do not generally have these issues, and then when they try to get back into the game, it frequently tells them that there is an internal error, and they have to turn off their console and turn it back on. It is making progging hard content or perfectas (speed run, HM, no death) very difficult. @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_Kevin is this issue being reviewed for an expeditious solution? It will cause people to quit if it is not fixed soon and end-game players are already hard to come by on console.5 -
saschmi3✭✭Same issue, PSNA. Also had a crash immediately after logging in to a character from opening the menu and trying to scroll to her inventory. Every player in the group I was doing oathsworn pit with yesterday DC'd at least once in the time it took to clear it (around an hour).
Acknowledgment of the issue and an estimated date for a fix would be much appreciated. I'm tempted to cancel my progs for the foreseeable future if we're spending a third of our run time waiting for people to get back in the game after a DC. It is beyond frustrating.

That issue is definitely not related to the wells. It can happen any time you port out of a house once the difficulty is changed in a group. It does not matter if you use the well or if you even port into a dungeon or trial instance. I got caught porting from my house to Vvardenfell. It’s the resetting while you’re in a house that causes the endless loading screen.Edited by virtus753 on March 30, 2024 5:03PM1 -

greytday137✭✭✭The crashes are getting worse, not better. Yesterday while working on the new dungeon trifectas we had different group members DC during key mechanics. I crashed just standing in Vardenfell doing nothing, and again while on a different toon in Shadowfen just logging off. There is no rhyme or reason as to when people DC or what makes is DC, but the frequency of disconnects is absolutely astounding. I fully recognize that this is a complex game with a lot of moving parts, and that this is a tough time of year for any team with planned travel for spring breaks, etc., but the fact that this hasn't even hit the Known Issues thread is mind boggling. Playstation is going to start hemorrhaging players in end game, and there aren't that many to begin with. @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_Kevin Can we please get some additional information about the measures attempted to investigate this issue, how the player base can assist in this investigation, or when a fix will be incoming?3

saschmi3✭✭Respectfully, this is a widespread problem that is impacting almost everyone I know playing the game on playstation that started happening following the update. There is no chance there is a pre-written how-to article that can fix this. If everyone that is playing on playstation needs to reinstall the game or it's a dc fest, that's still crazy, and the patch still caused this.
I have crashed doing nothing, simply standing there on my character after having walked away. I have crashed in dungeons, in trials, and leaving my house. I have crashed immediately after logging on to a toon, before it even loads. I've crashed right after logging in and trying to navigate to my inventory. At least half my prog team has crashed at some point during a two hour prog. Someone else on this thread had 4 dcs in one mini fight in vCR.
This needs urgent acknowledgement and attention from the devs, not a link to a how-to article.7 -

With all of these crashes I'd be worried to buy anything in case it takes away my crowns but crashes before it gives me the crates.1 -

This was the same thing that support said to do via a ticket. Everytime there is an issue the blame gets passed. It's only been happening since u41. Something in the update has caused this.
Edited: sorry I forget to mention also when travelling from a house into a trial. I was stuck on an endless load screen. Had to force close the app. The loadscreen it's self was flickering on and off the whole time. Video evidence too.Edited by Anne13 on April 4, 2024 7:37AM4 -
schindler✭✭✭Experienced all the crashes mentioned above since U41 dropped. Never had anything like that occur that frequently before.
Just crashed again, opening event coffers. Definitely a good start to the event.2 -
greytday137✭✭✭A few people in our group tried the methods suggested in the Help article. Exactly one person did not experience random disconnects. All of the rest of us did. It wasn't so bad for the first 30 minutes of our run, but after that we had one or more on every single boss.
Disconnects happen. Disconnects happen with alarming frequency since Update 41. This needs to be addressed as soon as possible.3 -
saschmi3✭✭For what it's worth, avoiding changing the difficulty while folks were in their houses did seem to resolve the flickering load screen crashes. We were able to get the trial reset and traveled back in without issue.
However, we still had 4 dcs in vSS on the last dragon on one of our pulls, two of which happened in execute. I also crashed today walking up to a geyser in Summerset. So while there does seem to be a work around for some of the crashes, most of them have not been solved.
I realize there is a real life event happening right now, but surely there is some staff on hand to take care of the game in case of emergency. I would say the frequency of these crashes warrants some emergency attention. Or at least a public statement saying "hey, we see the problem, we don't know what's causing it but will look into it after the celebration." My bar is low here--I just want the severity of the issue to be acknowledged.2 -
