I have done the whole set of instructions provided by @zos_phoenix and that didnt fix it. That includes unplugging the console waiting 10 seconds. Deleting the games save on my ps5. Uninstalling the game and reinstalling the game 4 crashes in 4 hours of gameplay since.
I have also, as a bonus, cleared my cache and rebuilt the database on my ps5.

So what ive found is if you wait until your body has left the trial or dungeon to log back in after a crash, at least you wont get the unexpected internal error message after a crash which requires a reset of the console. If your body is still there you are technically still logged in. I think theres a problem there because we used to get "this account is already logged in." Messages.

So i have done what zos recommended and in return i will make a recommendation to zos. I would highly encourage someone from zos to just play on the ps5 live server for like 5-6 hours. Do something fun like try to get the no death in the new dungeons. Do crafting writs or join for a trifecta trial run. Maybe you could gleen insight into how annoying this is, find the cause, and find a solution. Thank you.

    Another workaround:
Doing trials, the person who has crown kicks the person who disconnected from the group. Invite them back as soon as they're back online.
That decreases the chance the DCed person gets the Internal Error or Already Logged In errors.

Not 100%, but does seem to help.

Another workaround; I found that traveling to my house during difficulty resets for prog and then leaving my house through the “Exit House” option instead of trying to travel to a wayshrine or group member seems to avoid causing the endless flickering screen. Not sure if it completely eliminated it, but I haven’t had it happen yet.

These crashes are ridiculous though, and sometimes you can come in as soon as your toon has disappeared, other times you get stuck with a 5min or longer “Internal Error” screen. It is extremely frustrating to do any type of content given this inconvenience, but it is simply a waste of time to even try and prog trifecta dungeons or trials as this issue is so frequent and widespread.

I don't think they have anyone to play on ps5, honestly. If they did, they would've fixed the map zoom by now.

Still crashing multiple times a day talking to merchants and bankers, interacting with crafting tables, travelling to and from houses even when not in a group, logging on or off, and more. The newest one is infinite loading screen after accepting Battleground popup, had to close the game

Sure, the game does crash now and then but this has been really bad since U41, reminds me of the Deadlands patch stuck in combat but worse. It's insulting to tell us to restart our consoles or clear caches.... this is an ESO issue, not our consoles or internet

    Last night.
13 crashes in the space of a 2 hour raid slot.

It's affecting our prog. + jubilee event = rip

I honestly cannot understand why this hasn't been addressed after all this time.

Edited: Patch maintenance Wednesday. I hope to god they plan to fix these crashes and crashed loadscreen.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_Kevin Can we get confirmation that the crashes are being addressed during maintenance? I haven't heard anything about the console crashes from the dev team at all yet, and that's incredibly insulting. It feels like we're being ignored, or like the devs are pretending the problem doesn't exist.

When we get confirmation from @ZOS_GinaBruno or @ZOS_Kevin, can that confirmation also confirm that its not just the screen flicker that is getting fixed, or whatever was going on on PC, but that what is getting fixed is the game crash on PS? There are a lot of groups that are on hiatus until this is fixed.

Is there any chance we can get an update, hotfix or acknowledgement. Several raid teams are cancelling runs/cutting runs short until we get word of a fix.

PS5 is a live server not a pts. Ive never seen a game team care less about their player base. I know we're hard to see through all the loot box money we've given. But at least pretend to care.

I'm not sure what else to do here to get communication from the dev team on this issue. Should I reach out to Sony about the state of the game or is there someone else I should contact? Clearly these forum posts and bug reports are not doing anything. If there is somewhere else I'm meant to ask to get updates on the fix of a serious bug affecting the stability of the game, I'm happy to ask there too.

I looked in on Dev Tracker and saw several responses to other topics made by Kevin and Gina, respectively. Guess “blank” to “blank” the PS crowd. I guess we are not worth a response or even acknowledgement. Just give us your money and F off. Glad to see the improved communication is working so well for some, just not the redheaded stepchildren of PlayStation.

Maybe Sony would care after all; I am sure they are getting a ton of error reports lately.

Having issues here too. After about 4-5 conversations on my ticket they said that they’ve at least passed it on to the development team and understand it’s a wide occurring issue.

Shame though it took that long. Very bad issue and so far there has been too much silence on it.

Just out of curiousity, is it still crashing after todays maintenance? Sometimes they fix things without telling us, like they did with the purge bug.

Also interested in hearing when this same bug for PC will be fixed. I've had ESO freeze over a dozen times in one hour. This game is unplayable right now. I know it's not my PC, because I can run multiple other MMOs simultaneously with no problem. I've tried every troubleshooting recommendation with no success. Posting here in the hope that some dev sees it and responds.

I saw that, I don't use any task managers apart from the basic windows one. My game crashes with or without that open. For more context, I'll post the body of my support ticket text here, explaining the issue. If you have any advice, see anything I overlooked, notice anything indicating the source of my crashes, etc, I would appreciate any help.
Since Sunday night ESO is constantly freezing. I am able to get to the character selection screen with no problems; I freeze after the characters load in zone. Freezes happen anywhere from seconds after loading a character, to at best 10-12 minutes after loading a character. I have tried all the troubleshooting article guidance and suggestions from the forums: disabling all addons/libraries, removing all addons/libraries, disabling multi-threading, minimal graphics settings, reinstalling eso, repairing game files, using both standard and beta launchers, running as administrator, running in compatibility mode, updating all pc drivers, checking anti-virus and firewall, etc. Nothing works. I am only able to do get through my crafting dailies in the mornings, maybe due to lower server pop, I don't know why. In the evenings, I am unable to do anything, and going to high pop areas is a trap, where I freeze so quickly I cannot even move to another zone before crashing, until trying again the next morning. I'm frustrated and out of ideas for what to do. I am unable to play the game for more than simple town activities (struggling through many freezes to do even that). This is especially frustrating since there is a great event right now with limited-time items, and although there are multiple threads on this issue and related issues in the Bug Reports forum, I have not seen anything helpful from ZOS on this issue, or any plans to extend the event. I've seen others having similar freeze/crash problems with Update 41, but my problems only started Sunday night (April 7th). NA server makes me freeze much more than EU server, I have tried both. My pc can simultaneously run multiple other MMO games on max settings: WoW, EVE, Diablo 4, Hearthstone, and Steam single-player games; so I think it must be an ESO issue. My pc exceeds all recommended and minimum system requirements... Operating System: Windows 10 Pro with 64-bit operating system; Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-14900K 3.20 GHz; System RAM: 128GB DDR5; Hard Disk Space: 3.15 TB free of 3.72 TB; GPU: GeForce RTX 4090 24GB RAM; Sound: DirectX 12. I am desperate for assistance. Please help.

Thats very disappointing. The maintenance notes said they fixed all of these "rare" crashes.
Havent had a chance to play yet today, i'll remain optimistic. I know its not easy to hotfix and create a new chapter all at once. Especially because they have so many cool things planned for the 10 year anniversary but if the game doesnt work whats the point.

I did reach out to Sony on this yesterday. Cyberpunk was more stable when it launched.
    Just sayin'.

"Fixed a crash that could occur when logging out or changing areas in the game.
Fixed a rare crash that could occur at the beginning of a loading screen.
Fixed a crash that could occur while trying to load character select."

That says absolutely nothing about the crashes that happen during gameplay. It's clear the crashes discussed in this thread were not addressed. Can we have an update now, @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_Kevin?

It seems like a few of the issues causing crashes have not been fixed post maintenance.

A friend of mine crashed twice farming boxes for the event. I was trying to do Oathsworn trifecta earlier today and we had 2 runs back to back where someone DC'd (it was 2 different people.)

I'm not sure what's causing the problem but it's not our consoles or internet. Nearly everyone I know who have had extremely stable internet connections and who never had issues before U41 have now had flicking screens leaving their house or random crashes on boss fights or DCs on resets. I haven't ran any trials yet since the maintenance but I'm hoping there will be less issues, most prog teams doing trifectas on PSNA have had to cancel runs for the last couple of weeks because it's nearly impossible to get through a whole run without at least one person crashing and then dying to something before their character disappears.

Same run as saschmi. 10 DCs in 1 hour 45 minutes of progging Godslayer. Including a a clean ice dragon until i dcd on main tank, which lead to a group wipe. Next pull was another clean ice giving us a 24/36 vital.

Today’s maintenance/patch definitely didn’t address the absolute rampant PLAGUE of error screen/blue screen disconnects never before seen on PS5 at such an unprecedented level.

But instead borked guild history up even worse and has randomly locked some accounts out of getting past character log in without uninstalling and redownloading the entire game.

But sure, yeah, problem is on our end for not clearing cache or whatever (spoiler alert: that fixed nothing and these issues did not exist before U41 and after). Just a mass shared hallucination here, folks.

I have messaged a couple of people at ZOS about this issue, but I will confirm that the patch today did nothing.

Today during our GS prog, we had 11 crashes in a 2 hour prog. That's a crash roughly every 11 minutes.

I also looked at the error log on my console, and I have had 25 crashes with Error Code CE-108255-1 since March 26, 2024, when the patch dropped on console. I had to go back 7 months prior to that to find another crash. So I went from having less than 1 in six months to averaging 1.56 crashes per night. My husband, who has the PSN darkskies137, has had 44 crashes since the patch dropped, resulting in an average of 2.75 crashes per day.

What is being done to address this issue and what other information can I provide so that this issue gets the attention that it needs and the game becomes playable again.
