the good news to this is http://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en/news/post/2014/05/08/eso-on-consoles--update?ref=home they will at least let those who are playing the PC version but intend on going to console transfer their char. more then most company's give.
That's incredibly interesting, thank you for posting that info.
I may actually do that because of friends who plan on playing ps4 version.

I'm in guild where almost none of people quit and I could complete all quests in each zone - looking from this perspective I do not see why people say this game is bugged or complain, indeed some cosmetic issues exist, but people say like it was collapsing game and no progress possible while I see a lot of VR10 in one month.
This decision might be also political - to catch WoW next expansion or to just make some time to get more positive reviews or really there is not enough console subscriptions.

I called this weeks ago. Its just the first step towards them cancelling the port.

I wouldn't be surprised at all... They're losing massive numbers right now alone, there's no way that they will be getting enough players on the consoles to cover the costs of running it.

I see a port cancel, a f2p announcement, and the rollout of some weird pay-to-access cash shop in the very near future.

Just curious where you get your "facts" about massive amounts of people leaving? please do not say the forums here. There are only about 30,000 posts total for the entire thing. Even if every single one was a quit posts thats hardly massive considering they sold about 1.5 million copies.

Funny how you're saying the word "fact" when you throw out a random number like 1.5 million with no proof to back it up...

You see it in the reviews, on guilds forms and websites, here on the forums, in-game with people leaving and complaining. This game is crashing harder than SWTOR did, and you have some serious rose tint going on if you don't see that.

It is a fact they sold 330,000 copies retail (boxes). If you use a conservative number like 4 people bought from zenimax for every 1 that bought the box you get 1.5 million. A very conservative estimate. I think you are just bitter and of course think everyone is bitter like you. 1000s and 1000s of people are happily playing as we speak.

It's possible (I'm not saying likely), that if is delayed for a good reason.

For example, imagine they delayed it to work on tech to get PC, PS3 and XBOX players all on the same server. Then there would just be an account, that gave you access to you characters regardless of the hardware you used to log in.

That would be amazing, it would drive the genre forward. We would all love that. It's not very likely, but until they actually say why, there is the tiniest of hopes that it is for a really awesome reason.

    Choose optimism :)

330,000 retail? You love using random numbers with no citations, don't you? I have yet to see you cite these "facts" that you're so adamant about using.

At least I'm basing my argument off of reviews, forum trends, and guild reactions. The negativity towards this game and ZO is EVERYWHERE, and it's showing in their dwindling playerbase.

Companies LOVE to brag when they make tons of sales. You know why they haven't released any official info about sales? Cause it's not good news.

DS2 sold 1.2 million copies in three weeks. How do we know this? They told everyone. Usually when a game is a big hit, the game publishers fall all over themselves getting those numbers out.

I think eso did okay but that's just a guess. It would be a surprise if eso didn't have more than a million paying monthly subscribers by mid-May. Below that and it would be a disappointment given its TES lineage.

No, no no no. Please show to us all exactly how the negativity you speak of is EVERYWHERE, as you so state. And not only you, and others like you who ALWAYS have to be so negative about EVERYTHING. VIVEC, you wouldn't be happy were you living your ideal fantasy life, and had everything you ever wanted, did everything you ever wanted, and had no worries at all in your life, you would still find fault with things. Now don't misunderstand me I do not say these things because I simply dislike your view [though I do, as your view sucks] but because of how you come across on EVERY DAMN POST OF YOURS I HAVE READ.

The reality here is you blindly attack that other commenter for not "citing" his/her facts, yet YOU don't show the proof for any of yours. You simply say its true from what you have seen. [personally, I think you just blank out when you see anything positive] That, quite honestly makes YOUR facts, merely your own view and opinion, which is skewed towards negativity anyway, and thus can't be trusted. As for anything you say which is not based on your own opinion, like asking as example why ZOS don't reveal sales figures did you ever stop to think maybe its too soon, still, maybe, just maybe they prefer to mention those things quarterly, or annually. Just food for thought. Nothing has to fit the cynical perspective you have of the world and buddy, you have your own tinted glasses, only they are tinted in the colours of rage and anger, as befitting a cynical creature such as you. More often than is not things wont fit the cookie cutter mold you think they ought to.

And the most interesting thing is: how is supposed to 'help' the game screaming that is a failure? I think there are a few haters on board, that pretend of wanting to give constructive criticism while they just say "the game is crap, the game is dying, everybody hates TESO"

Guys, neither us or the mods are dumb, really,go hate on something else or even better find a healthy hobby

Guild Wars 2 was released to universal acclaim. It received a score of 90.02% on GameRankings[57] and 90/100 on Metacritic.[58]

PC Gamer's Chris Thursten gave the game a 94% rating, calling it "an accomplished and rewarding online RPG that does a great deal to reclaim the promise of its genre."[65] IGN's Charles Onyett rated the game a 9/10, commenting that the game is "one of the most exhaustively detailed and rewarding MMOs in existence, one that never unfairly penalizes and fosters an incredible urge to explore through a generous reward system and achingly pretty environment design".[64] GameSpot's Kevin VanOrd opened his review with "Guild Wars 2 is a paradise for explorers and thrill-seekers alike, and the best online role-playing game in years" and gave the game a 9.0/10.[61] Computer and Video Games Games Editor Andy Kelly gave a verdict of 8.9/10 closing with "An entertaining MMO that combats the dreaded grind with smart design. The lack of a monthly subscription fee only sweetens the deal."[59] GamesRadar's Hollander Cooper wrote in his review, "Everything a massively-multiplayer online RPG should be. It's original, massive in scope, and wonderfully social, removing many of the gates that held back the genre in the past. Being able to play with friends regardless of level or class is a gigantic leap forward, and one that, when mixed in with all of the other innovations in the genre, make Guild Wars 2 one of the best MMOs currently available." and giving it 4.5/5[62] and GameSpy's Leif Johnson wrote, "To Guild Wars 2's credit, its issues do little to detract from the immensely rewarding experience of the whole. It doesn't overthrow the conventions of the MMORPG, but it presents them in fresher and livelier packaging than its competitors."[63]

Time listed Guild Wars 2 as the top video game of 2012. Editor Matt Peckham noted that "Guild Wars 2 is one of those rare games that unexpectedly knocks your life off-kilter, like a meteoroid banging into a satellite", adding on that "Guild Wars 2 [has] the feel of a living world, and the sort of compulsive anywhere-you-go playability other MMOs only dream of."[66]

Looks pretty much succesfull to me.

@Mutharex. You seem to think a MMOs success is down to how many servers it has? Reality is unless you can prove your argument the game in question [regarding this I suppose its GW2...I never played it] is not doing well, you have no legs to stand on. The same can be said for the counter-argument, don't get me wrong. Well...I just think you are looking silly here. The are many reasons MMO companies make the choices they make and not ALL of them are monetary related.

I can only talk about the AoC release, and that, to me was the biggest scam in the history of mmos, directly followed by Vanguard. Both games were released in a completely unplayable status, and what is even worse for AOC is that they sold the box, advertizing it had DX10, which wasnt even in the game.
Add to that that they only polished the tutorial area to make the game look good for the previews, they can be happy that they didnt get sued over it.
