They didn't merge all the servers. They made it to where people on different servers could see each other in the same zones when questing, meaning low level zones are packed all hours instead of dead. They did mega-servers right, instead of TESO's failed attempt.

GW2 has a megaserver AND a global AH... It's a class MMO and I thoroughly enjoyed it since the beta and up to the launch of ESO. However, GW2 is in dire need of new and permanent content (we want Cantha!). That's why I'm here instead of there...

My account name is Vivec, I know all about the fanbase. The fan base for Star Wars is many times greater than the fan base for TES, but that didn't save SWTOR, did it? If you want to stick around as this game goes f2p and starts pay-gating content through some weird cash shop, and still call it a "success," then that's your choice. Everyone else will move to other games where the Devs actually care about their game and it's players.

Pretty sure majority of the star wars fan base is (not) MMO players. Just like Lord of the Rings fan base.

But you know what, both those games are still around, still making content, still fun to play, (i guess). Neither of those games were for me, but obviously, a lot of people play them.

I think its yourself that is failing. You are failing to understand there will not be another MMORPG, that amounts to World of Warcraft. World of Warcraft has 10 years on majority of the game out there, and has NO SIGN of slowing down.

OH, before you throw some numbers on WoW's declined number, I know they are at 7.2 Million player right now (OMG they must be close to closing their doors).

How about DC Universe, thats f2p, with just as much an active player base.

Elder scrolls online for PC is a pit stop. Its here, to gas up, and get ready for the race. Once it hits consoles, that is when the real race begins. If it wrecks there, then its out of the race. And they know this, that's why they are making sure the engine is running good before the start of the race.

The PC market for MMORPGs BELONGS TO WOW. Am I saying YOU (that goes to EVERYONE reading this, as I know there will be people saying "I" dont belong to WoW), No I am not. But YOU are of the minority. You can take 10 different MMOs population, and still not amount to the subscribers of WoW, not even on their worst days.

What is at the finish line here, is the console base. FFXIV, has a good head start, and I really enjoyed the game. One character is all that's needed, you can "play any way you want to play with one character" (sound familiar?? j/k) But I don't know, I would like to see an appropriate MMO on consoles, where I only played with console users. At this time, ESO would be the first. And that, my fellow players, is what I believe is at stake here.

I stopped reading here, it's hard to read when you're laughing so hard!"
