Does Major/Minor vitality affect health recovery?

As far as I can tell it doesn't affect the health recovery stat on the character sheet. I'm wondering if anyone has done more robust testing to tell if it is added on somehow on the back end?

The main reason is with the changes to it affecting shields it may make sense to have it affect health recovery if it doesn't as a counter balance to Vamp undeath if it isn't being addressed. Plus, if defile affects health recovery the buffs like mending and vitality should benefit it as well. Feels like a reasonable way to make staying human a little more beneficial without taking us back to a troll king meta as it would require a few different investments.

    Vitality had its health recovery buff removed with this PTS in favor of having it instead affect shields. On live it currently improves health recovery.

    Huh, scratch that, I misremembered. It doesn't on live. The buff I was thinking of was Fortitude.

    Everyone is a stage 3 vamp in pvp, so health recovery sort of moot.

    Since ZOS is expanding the concept of adding healing to damage shields, started with Arcanist, makes sense to add more ways to negatively impact shields.

    That was my point, Vamp is so powerful adding ways to buff health recovery wouldn't be a problem and maybe even add some incentive to not be a Vamp

    Sorcerers have a huge incentive to build into health recovery in PvP instead of running Vamp Stage 3. In Update 41, health recovery will be even stronger now that Defile doesn't affect it.

    With the exception of Battlegrounds, Sorcerers have a huge incentive to build into health recovery in PvP instead of running Vamp Stage 3. In Update 41, health recovery will be even stronger now that Defile doesn't affect it.

    Oh I missed that, thought they were just adding shields. Didn't realize they removed health recovery. Still not sure if it would be a bad idea to provide more ways to buff health recovery such as the vitality buffs though. Especially since BGs are the superior pvp mode as CP 2.0 was still trash. Non Vamp should be just as viable as Vamp. Including major Vitality is harder than being Vamp as far as build tradeoffs. Just so long as we don't end up at troll king meta of old. Which shouldn't be possible with how battle spirit works now.

    It's not possible but you can get 1000+ health per second w/ CP, Gaze of Sithis, Orzorga's Bear Haunch, etc without sacrificing too much as a Sorcerer. This is the equivalent of a persistent Hist Sap 5pc bonus which is good. You can go higher if you build full into health recovery but you lose too much damage if you go too far. There's a sweet spot between health recovery and damage.

    That's what I'm say, buffing health recovery doesn't seem too dangerous as it does require significant tradeoffs to build into but I do like the idea of having more variety than stage 3 vamp
