People keep mentioning inventory management as a turnoff
I guess that's without ESO Plus
I simply would never play without ESO Plus. I've tried it and I couldn't stand it.
As far as I'm concerned, the game was designed with ESO Plus as a necessary component. Offering the game for free without ESO Plus is just a way for people to try it out. Then they realize they need ESO Plus to play the game as intended. So I pay the monthly subscription fee on both accounts to play the game as intended.
I don't see why that's surprising to anybody.

Why would anyone want to play if this is the first thing they see when visiting the forums?

from my experience its lack of story cohesion and logical zone progression of quests I know the Zone Guide kinda helps but still one of the minor problems since One Tamreil alot of new players can find themselves overwhelmed or just not understanding the story since is all too common to do things out of order in this game now days.

I also play on PC from time to time but I just wanna be left alone on there so sorry.

If you read commentaries about ESO, they usually mention the ease of overland content and the combat as reasons why they stopped playing the same.

My thoughts on training mounts is to make it automatic and less of a daily chore to visit the stables. Make speed and stamina a skill that progresses the more you ride and simply buy the extra inventory space the same as you do for bags and banks.

Cyrodiil queues need sorting. They are getting stupidly long and I am dreading how bad they will get in the event.

Last month they lowered the pop cap in cyrodiil clear down to 60/faction. That's why queue times are so long now. Yesterday DC pop locked at 10am EST and stayed pop locked until midnight.

I don't PvP much, but enough to know that it's a major part of why a lot of people play this game.
I really can't understand how PvP could be a major part of a game and then not allow so many players not to participate in it.
From my point of view, that strategy seems just insane
If I were a PvPer, I definitely would quit over this

As someone who has done primarily PVP in MMORPG's, but a mixture of PVP and PVE in ESO, it does bother me that seemingly very little attention is paid to PVP. I imagine there is more going on behind the scenes than we see, but it does feel like PVP is on the back burner, on low heat on the stove in the guest kitchen across the street.

I've largely been a pretty consistent player, and I'm currently active. But there are things that I find discouraging or have caused me to take a break or stop spending on the game for a time.

    1. General ZOS Communication. Overall, I'm not satisfied with the community management in this game. Their handling of things has been the biggest factor when I've dialed back my spending. It just feels like they're focused on things like news links, promos, and streams, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It becomes problem when things like updates & context are harder to come by, especially on combat bugs, longstanding efforts, and controversial topics. Visible, qualitative engagement isn't something we see much of, and even things like the class rep programs have been shutdown. When communication feedback has been provided, the lessons learned don't seem to be applied at the next opportunity. When the game's good, I can overlook these things. When it's not, I usually stop spending until things lighten back up.
    2. Forum experience. Moderation, in general, has caused me to pause my subscription and cancel preorders several times. No one likes walking on eggshells, worrying about repercussions to their account they've invested thousands of hours and dollars in, just because of some grey area on a forum post. This feedback has been consistent since like 2015 and I don't see any changes made in the direction I'd like. Instead, we're told "moderation's a tricky thing". I think leadership and CMs need to understand that you cannot moderate yourselves into being respected; respect comes from engagement and building rapport. Like some others have said, a lot of other forums have a much warmer moderation experience, where they're actively engaging the community first, and moderating them second.
    3. Changes that go against feedback. Grim Focus is just the most recent example of this, but there's been countless others. It's discouraging when you have large swathes of players saying one thing across the forums and Reddit, and then contrary changes go in. Not having any communication why or what the end goal is, makes those kinds of situations worse.
    4. Frequent Combat Changes. To be fair, these have slowed down. Still, I've taken breaks in the past because of changes, and more importantly, their frequency. I totally get that some painful changes are needed to get a better place. Overall, I'm willing to relearn up to a point. Gearing up around moving targets is a bit discouraging. And if by the time I get geared, the gear isn't viable, then I'm less willing to go through it all again. Thankfully, this feedback was finally heard, and seems like we have a better pace.
    5. FOMO. I can't tell you how many times I've seen a costume or style page that looks cool. It finally jived with my current mood or character, and I wanna buy it. Turns out I can't buy it, even if I wanted to, because they prioritize timed-deals over a persistent inventory. It used to be the case where you could contact support and get support, but that practice got squashed. Like, I literally want to give you money for something, and because it's not perfectly aligned to some marketing program, I can't. That's often influenced my decision to buy something or not.
    6. People being people. This is in no way ZOS's fault, but I'm not enjoying the social aspect of the game currently. One guild fell apart due to leadership vacuums. In another, I've experienced some gatekeeping where I couldn't do vCR1 without some healing POV video. Despite healing multiple vet trials with the guild over the years. I've also been experiencing situations where I help guildies and it wound up being more headache than it was worth. And of course PUGs are hit or miss. These things happen. So when I play now, I just focus on solo stuff and playing at my own relaxing pace. But there comes a point where that stops being fun and take a step back from the game for a period of time.

    2. Speed runners in random group dungeons. If someone wants to do the quest - they cant with random team. And social interaction, the point of MMO, is negative.
This is actually my main reason for barely playing at the moment.

Despite some players above saying this is fixed/will be fixed, I feel that just isn't true. The new groupfinder isn't easy for access(takes time), and the upcoming story mode for dungeons is highly questionable as every player is different and I want dungeons done fast, not story slow or speedrun fast though. So I still feel ZOS needs to fix this ASAP(speedrunners/fake roles)!
I love questing, but when I am bored/done with questing I would normally tank dungeons for fun. Right now they aren't fun, so I log off. Even though I actually WANT to play ESO and have fun! As a tank in heavy armor having to speedy gonzales/roadrunner after a speedrunner isn't fun, as a tank having a fake healer and constantly having to rez the group isn't fun, as a tank coming in midway through a failed dungeon most of the times isn't fun(everyone is already annoyed/on edge due to double queues/failing), as a tank seeing all those mobs we won't kill and not being able to loot heavy sack/chests isn't fun(those are basically my reward for not being out in the world), getting a group where newer players have only experienced speedrunners and otherwise have no clue about dungeon isn't always fun(they usually improve fast though). So I just do not queue at all right now. (Note: Luckily as a tank I am immune to fake tanks, yet this is still heavily impacting me)

To me the only real solution would be a +three companions dungeonqueue with similar transmute/daily rewards to the current dungeonfinder. Mostly because this will allow fake roles/speedrunners to take themselves out of the queue, as using companions is faster and safer for them than using other players(no risk getting kicked or queue times). While this would leave the regular dungeonfinder for those players still learning/wanting to play with others.

Sometimes in order to group mobs it actually makes sense for a DPS to run ahead and bring everything together. Which means that on some runs its actually better for a person to run ahead to the first boss, they will have to stop there and the group can come in and burn all the enemies that were pulled. I do this frequently and no one has a problem with it.

Secondly, again, as many have said, sometimes a fake role is really a proxy role. In other words, no the healer isn't healing, they substituted for DPS intentionally and often times this is preferable and desired by groups I'm with. Sometimes the Tank can be proxied also by a DPS slotting aggro.

I'm sorry but not sorry because the world just isn't so cut and dry. There are reasons, at times, for things to get switched around and by taking that away its going to mess with everyone because a few aren't happy. In fact, many times when I'm on a dungeon run I have to adapt to whatever is going on with the group too. That's just part of the game and I'd be an absolute fool to think I'm gonna have it my way all the time and I'd be a hypocrite to try and force everyone to abide by rules that only exist for those who are unwilling to be flexible.

Same thing with PvP, sometimes ya got to fight with your bare hands about things. Everyone wants ball-group like performance out of a pug group but then again everyone hates ball groups for reasons. You can't have it both ways. At least not that I'm aware of. Better to just let people be themselves and if you don't like it, great... leave me alone. :)

I don't see why that's surprising to anybody.

People with no income other than birthday money. People with very low income like social help. People with low income like salary of 200-250 usd\month in 2nd\3rd world countries. Paying quite a lot (15 usd) monthly just to solve artificially created problem is not viable in these cases.
Some time ago i played some game on private server that had its development stopped in 2000s. That server had online of around 15k during evening time, and its just one private server among dozens. If it created artificial inventory space issue and a 15 usd subscription that solves it - guess what would happen.
If eso had no inventory space problem - those people could be playing here. They cannot pay 15 usd\month, but are okay with occasional purchase of chapter or crowns, and eso is a far superior game to what they are playing.

I'm not affected by anything as far as leaving the game because of it. That being said, my main bothers are:

    - Followers in town (pets, companions, ...).
It's becoming a heavy one simply because that's a constant one. I dream of an extension of the radius of effect of the "hiding followers" feature, in length and applying to all services (not only crafting stations, but also bankers and so on...).

    - Zone chats.
I witness an increasing tendency of negativity, aggressivity, humiliation and discrimination in zone chats, especially the weekend. So of course, we know that there are lot of kids behind keyboards, but that's no excuse and it doesn't explain all of it. It makes me sad at times.

I am kinda shocked everyone isn't mentioning the trade system with all the NPCs. Which leads me to believe that people don't dislike it as much as I do. After playing off and on for 11 yrs now I finally joined a couple guilds for the first time about a month or two ago. Getting more used to it but it's still such a misstep.

Trade system is one of the reasons that I like this game vs MMOs that try to do a global trading solution. Global trading seems so... meta.

Inventory management is definitely the thing that I bounced hardest off of when I first started, and the only real fixes (ESO+ and the vendor assistant) cost real money.

Other than that, the guild trader system is also extremely discouraging. It's especially bad on console where there isn't an efficient way to find the best prices. I've pretty much just resigned myself to always being poor because I can't sell anything (I tried joining a trading guild and it wasn't worth the weekly dues for a casual like me) and I overpay for everything I buy (because I usually only have time to check the biggest cities for "deals").

ZOS giving Cyrodiil zero priority for more than 5 years now is the number one thing that's driving players I know away. Plus, with pop caps so low now, even the few players that want to play have such long que times that they don't want to even try to get into the zone, so no reason to log on in the first place if it's anywhere near 13:00-22:00 EST.

Honestly this. I have played this game for five years. Vet dungeons, trials, quested and then started PVPing about two years ago after getting bored with the others and like it more than all the others. Within the last month or so ZoS lowered the population cap in Cyrodill and I have not been able to get in to play as it takes an hour and while waiting you cannot get involved in certain things like Infinite Archive, or Dungeons or anything. I've managed to get in game once within the last week. My guess is that the hardcode pvpers don't really spend enough in the crown store to offset the cost of adding new content or managing existing content in the zone hence the population cap change. I'm almost to the point of throwing in the towel and moving elsewhere to be honest.

Every PvP player I know, including myself, has spent plenty in the crown store. Competitive PvP requires purchasing all the DLC's for the gear and grinding that gear, so PvP is all the PvE plus to be competitive. Per capita we spend far more than PvE players. If PvP is not a money maker for ZOS anymore it's due primarily to changes ZOS has made to Cyrodiil and they have nobody to blame but themselves.

It's more like having every single grocery store in the world in one store and everyone competing to sell their wares to buyers. No hassle for the buyer or seller in this situation, you know exactly who you are competing with, what they are trying to sell for already via their posted auctions, and the buyers have it the best way as well. Who wants to spend time porting all over a game's world looking for wares that may or not exist on an NPC at a price you can't verify as fair or competitive? What is this the dark ages?

This running all over the world business is insane.
