Agree that speed running ruins dungeon runs. I always check to see who is in my party and I move at the pace the party moves.

There is a fundamental design flaw in ESO and that is the idea that tanks should not AOE tank/tank all mobs while DPS/healer absorb aggro from adds.

This is what leads to speed running. For example, in WoW, even a base game dungeon boss can ruin a DPS FAST, its even worse on vet. You absolutely HAVE to have a tank, who themselves sets the pace of the dungeon. Even a tank in wow though cant just run through all the mobs.

Secondly, the 4 person group size is another bad design decision because it does not absorb DPS out of the queue pool. Everyone knows tanks are a short supply, if the party sizes were larger, an additional DPS would get into the party reducing pressure off the queue.

Tanks should have AOE taunts and mobs should not be tankable by DPS/healers.
Parties should be 5 or 6 person in size to absorb more DPS out of the queue pool.

That alone would go a long way into solving some of the issues we face.

ZOS giving Cyrodiil zero priority for more than 5 years now is the number one thing that's driving players I know away. Plus, with pop caps so low now, even the few players that want to play have such long que times that they don't want to even try to get into the zone, so no reason to log on in the first place if it's anywhere near 13:00-22:00 EST.

I have quit the game on 5 separate occasions and left for 6 months to a year at a time due to this.

There is nothing worse from a customer perpspective than spending a few hundred on crowns (sadly, I have spent thousands) only to be moderated for the most innocent of conversations a day or so later. Their action on that miffs me more than anything....and mind you, I am well well WELL aware of what kind of posting can get one into trouble and even then its a gamble.

This too. This is the only forum I've ever participated in where the moderators don't actually help anyone. If you need help with the game you have to fill out a support ticket. You can't get help from mods on this forum, only from other players. Occasionally Kevin will help, and very rarely Gina or Bill will jump in and help, but that's it. This is the only forum I've ever been on where it is like this. And we're always walking on egg shells when we post here, never knowing if what was fine to post one day will be deemed an offense the next.

Agree in part as someone who has been modded before for something I viewed as petty. But I’ve also been part of very toxic game forums and I vastly prefer the moderation here to those communities.

Generally speaking (not only for the ESO forums), I think forum moderation should have one basic objective: To improve the experience for the forum users. Being helpful, answering questions, removing things like hatespeech and personal insults. Interrupting and calming a discussion down, in case users actually verbally attack each other. If I had a forum, that would be the things I'd care for. Other aspects I'd leave to the users. We're all adults here, after all.

What is interesting is that Zenimax tried to change the weaving so that it did not require such a tight light weave as a medium weave is easy for most anyone. The population here balked and Zenimax realized a major part of the success of this game is how the combat separates ESO from those games with more simplistic combat that is more on rails with the hard tab targeting and slow pace of combat. After all, Zenimax is a top-paid MMORPG and it is nice to have a game that does not play like a WoW clone.

I mean to each their own but I never understood how people view ESO weaving as some amazing thing. It was a glitch that the community moaned and complained to stay in game. It’s literally just hitting a button along with your actual planned attack. It looks silly and becomes more of a chore than anything.

    ESO?
    - doing story quests
    - crafting
    - reading lorebooks
    - fishing
    - ToT against npcs
    - antiquities
    - soloing Archive
    - soloing dungeons
    - housing
    - achievement hunting

There's more than enough, really, for players who want to play on their own.

    Not in a particular order

1.Mount training. This is an outdated concept. It’ll never go away because of cashop but mounts should just all run the same or revamp this so it’s actual content not having to seek out an NPC and click a button everyday for 60 days just to move at a decent pace.

    ...

    4. Confusing questing system. So many quests with markers that look very similar and random npcs always approaching you to offer you additional quests. I have finally convinced two friend to play this game and I worry that the lack of tutorials for how the questing system works will make them quit (they haven’t played MMOs before)

I overloaded on quests when I started years ago. The 25 limit was a real problem.

I agree on the mount training.

Yet my experience is that it is CRUSHINGLY popular.

I'm sure ZOS loves your viewpoint on this. Evidence the MAX CAP shrink is working as intended to provide those newer to the game, the illusion of a popular and wildly thriving feature of the game. The reality; Cyrodil caps have been reduced; so just by default we know there are less people in Cyro than there ever was.

What does "no support for Cyrodiil PVP" mean? Someone, please tell me.

So, anyone: how can the opinions on PVP in this game be so WILDLY divergent. Not as a matter of taste, but as a matter of fact? How does one group find it so utterly neglected and barren that they should just remove it, when my experience (PC NA) is such that it's so popular, you need to queue HOURS ahead of when you actually want to get in? From my point of view, it's like the old quote, "No one goes to ball games any more; it's too crowded."

I believe this is because they limit population to 200 on each faction. Thus only 200 people (600 total) can PvP in that zone. This is a huge limitation!

I agree! It led to my own year-long absence.

Not even being able to discuss issues, such as noting Internet truths to encourage someone to not be discouraged by disagreement, is not a good thing. Yes, you don't want to allow long debates, but I am guessing those doing the moderation are not the top of the career chain and thus lack a lot of experience in the "real world" of the Internet, for one thing.

Though this points back to the challenge that it at least appears that players have no feedback into the game that matters. The devs can't follow every wish of course, but those motivated enough to participate in these discussions should at least feel heard even if they don't get what they want.

No Oceanic or Asia server. (That turns away a lot of players due to high ping to the USA and even higher to Euro servers.)

High Crown store cost due to currency conversions. If I want ESO+, I have to buy in Australian dollars, despite not living there. Let us just buy in USA dollars directly.

Plain old latency turns away lots of potential players.

I'm on Xbox and PC. I have ESO plus on Xbox but not PC. So I have to say inventory management. You you do not get your money's worth for the purchase of this game because of inventory management. My PC account is having an extremely hard time maintaining a master Crafter without having at least four other mule characters to carry everything. And the constant logging in and out just to put what I need in the bank for another character five or six times sucks. So recently in the past year I've almost stopped playing the PC version because my inventory has gotten so full I can barely play because I can't pick anything up on any character. I have one character that has 200 slots of nothing but transmute crystals. Another character that has nothing but food ingredients and weapon traits etc etc. I've all but abandoned my PC version close to doing the same on Xbox if I let ESO plus go. Shame shame on zos for making a game unplayable that you actually pay for.

What turns me away the most is the crown crate system and it taking 2 years for the crown crate you want to return to the crown store so you can dump all the seals of endeavors you worked on for this single crate.

if the endeavor system didn't exist I honestly wouldn't play ESO at all. this system is pretty much a job to me and I finish the tasks every day.

solution? give some kind of crown crate selector for the Endeavor system. waiting years for the crown crate you want is just terrible.

It's most probably done on purpose. Limited time offers are a well-known psychological trick to push hesitant potential buyers into buying, out of fear they'll miss this one opportunity and regret it afterwards.

right... :| . but continuing this tactic wont bring back the players that are chased away from the game because they cant get anything nice or cool looking from the crown store or crown crate.

very few people are doing their endeavors every day for the crown crates they want. they sooner just leave the game for a few months rather then login every day doing the endeavors. waiting over 2 years is a very nasty thing to do to a player.

and the biggest issue is that its splits the world of players. this tactic is for the rich players only who can spend over 1000 bucks in ESO. while those who cant afford it due to living conditions can never really get anything nice for themselves. poor people end up quitting the game due to that because they get jealous and envy the players they have these radiant apex mounts to ride on.

you will find the population of poor people is more vast than the rich. with inflation reaching its highest point a lot of players are going to stop spending on MMO's or at least spend far less.

players that are chased away from the game because they cant get anything nice or cool looking from the crown store or crown crate.

I'm wondering how many this applies to. Seriously, it would interest me. Because I can imagine that there's also a big percentage that don't care much for the crown store at all, let alone for crates. I personally find apex mounts extremely ugly most of the time and would never use them, even if they'd give them for free. Most store items aren't interesting for me either. Sometimes, not even every month, 1 nice piece of furniture or 1 costume, very rarely a lorefriendly pet or mount, but that's it.
very few people are doing their endeavors every day for the crown crates they want. they sooner just leave the game for a few months rather then login every day doing the endeavors. waiting over 2 years is a very nasty thing to do to a player.

I do endeavors daily (as long as it's nothing that truly annoys me, but the easier tasks like using mementos, reading books or killing a few enemies - why not?) and buy something nice from it once in a while. I know several people who do this and save points over time. Not differently to real life, actually: If money's short, you have to save and plan ahead. I know this very well from when I was still a student.

Also: There's so many things to do in ESO that you don't have to pay anything for (except for buying the game) - it's not like buying apex mounts would be the only thing.
this tactic is for the rich players only who can spend over 1000 bucks in ESO. while those who cant afford it due to living conditions can never really get anything nice for themselves.

I agree it could be more, but there are costumes, skins, mounts and pets available through playing, as quest, achievement or event rewards. I already had a nice collection when I didn't even have ESO+, let alone bought crowns. It's not that you have nothing at all if you don't use the store.
poor people end up quitting the game due to that because they get jealous and envy the players they have these radiant apex mounts to ride on.

I'm sorry, but this is a mindset question. I was what would be called dirt poor as a student (left home at 16, didn't even finish school yet, but had to pay rent and food somehow), but it never felt that way and I never envied anyone. I just concentrated on planning ahead, making the best out of the money I have and enjoying what I can. It helps to concentrate on what one has and how one can improve instead of wasting time on staring at richer people and envying their luxuries.
you will find the population of poor people is more vast than the rich.

The question is of whom ZOS makes more money: A majority of poorer people who don't buy anything or a minority of wealthier ones who spends a lot of money?

I hate all the mounts and skins in this game. The community has gotten pretty bad too. PVP community probably the worse it’s ever been due to staleness, and a lot of super competitiveness in a game with no real ranking system. All the classes have lost a lot of their uniqueness so meta is very dominant. People play what’s the best and wins, even though it’s not their favourite class or race. The price of columbine.

What's interesting about the inventory problem that the game has is that no mater what efforts are taken to alleviate the problems, inventory continues to be a boring time waste issue most likely because the games core monetization was made to be based around artificially created inventory problems that would encourage subscription purchases.
