The achievement tracker needs a major overhaul

I'm trying to run down all the achievements I can, but the grouping and the segmentation just don't make sense any more, and is making things more difficult than they need to be. All the DLC and expansions are just being tacked on to the end of the list. Everything needs to be rolled back up into the base categories, and segmented under them.

Crafting? ALL of the motif lines need to be under there, with internal segmentation about where they're coming from, like Thieves Guild or Necrom. Fishing? All together in one spot. Sure, keep the base zone achievements, with their Alliance-specific rollups, but the expansion zones need to be in the same place. TRIALS?! OMG. ALL of them need to be rolled OUT of the subcategories into one spot, maybe even with distinctions for vet/non-vet like with the Dungeons and Vet Dungeons. Endless Archive? Maybe that's a "Dungeon" category; maybe it's its own thing. Tales of Tribute? All of that ASBOLUTELY needs its own category. I don't want to even think about that nonsense right now.

Obviously, people would like to see that they've accomplished everything in a DLC. As time is marching on, there are SO MANY achievements in each new expansion. There should be a way to "pivot" the view to show what we have now, but the default should be to roll it up by type.

Am I crazy? I want things that I have finished to disappear from the list, so I can see it getting smaller, and making progress. With Vet Trial achievements included, I will NEVER see things like "Thieves Guild" disappear from my list, and it's just cluttering things up, and making it hard to find and track the things I *can* do. I guess I need to finally write my own mod or something.

personally i prefer the achievements to be segmented by which DLC they are part of, i find it makes it easier to track

then i just work everything zone by zone

in progress: acquiring mundus stones (currently only have the thief)

This makes sense for people who have played from the start, and have finished most of the other stuff. But for people like me, who have not paid attention to it for years, or who are new to the game, I feel like it's confusing.

I wish they could condense all DLC dungeons in one group. Same thing for each chapter and it DLC zone into a corresponding year name (ex. Year of the Dragon would be Northern and Southern Elsywer).

I think splitting every additional DLC across existing categories would be more confusing and less practical. It changes the previous completion status and is more annoying for people who don’t have specific DLCs or chapters. It also makes connected zone achievements harder to track, like “Savior of Necrom” and its constituent parts.

I think we should get both, which they could maybe do with some kind of tagging/filtering feature. Leave the DLC breakouts, because not everyone owns everything, but allow us to switch the view to group by trials and dungeons.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

I agree there needs to be some sort of changes/improvements with the achievements section. I personally would like to see all of the Tribute stuff in one section separately, and all Companion stuff also in a separate category. I agree all of the motifs should be under crafting and I do like the idea of fishing being separate. Arenas should also be their own thing, too.

Something I think would be really nice would be some way to also turn it off temporarily, too. Maybe I want to earn every achievement on one specific character, but since everything is merged, I can't do that anymore. If I've cleared something on a side character, there isn't a true way to track that on a different character unless I write things down. I really do love the account-wide achievements in theory, but now that I'm trying to do them all on one character, this is a headache to sort through. I don't want to permanently turn it off, just wish I could set some way to see the list with only one specific character somehow.

I came in here expecting this to be more complaining about something dumb, but no, you are actually right. That makes a lot of sense. Especially the categories that are just dungeon DLC's.

I also would like there to be a separate antiquity category now with being able to get achievements from putting the mythics together.

As a new player I don't find the achievement panel confusing at all, but I miss the pin tracker function, that I had in another game in your main screen, A LOT.

It is a enormous chore to search the same stuff over and over again in order to see your progress. Also the pin serves as a "to do list" reminder each time you login.

Some activities like fishing or antiquities would be nice to have their own separate categories, but apart from that, its pretty easy to navigate the system imo.

If you're on PC, there are a couple mods I've found that can help with this. One of these will "pin" achievements to the main screen (which can get in the way). Another allows you to mark any achievement as a "favorite," which puts them in a separate folder. I use a combination of both.

I wish they would go to account-wide achievements for everything already. There are way too many achievements in this game to expect you to go get them on multiple characters to say - maximize the bonus from Mora's Whisper relic, which requires you to fill out your Shalidor's library, which is a character-specific achievement. I know why they've done it this way, because you only unlock the mage's guild skill tree by finding the blue lore books or by doing the daily, but it is ridiculous to think that anyone would go fill out all of Shalidor's library on multiple characters. Just let this be an account-wide achievement, and then make a new way to level up the mages guild. For example, in ES: Oblivion, the mage's guild nemesis was the necromancers, so perhaps every time you kill cultists or necromancers, your mage guild will increase, similar to how your fighter's guild increases when you kill daedra. This puts less emphasis on needing to collect blue books to unlock the Shalidor's library, and that would open things up for having this be an account wide achievement.
