Seems related to "ChatWindowManager" addon weird that it didn't include the addon in the stack trace. If you see this, that's the thing to disable.

I am also getting this error, and I do not have any add on called ChatWindowManager installed.

I am also getting the exact same error message for every char, and I do not have any chat related add on installed.

That said, in looking up the Add Ons menu it now appears all 2 of the add ons I DO use (TTC and CombatMetrics) are now out of date.

I am loading TTC and Combat Metrics without an error. It does appear to be add on related, however. I do not get the error on my laptop, which does not have as many add ons enabled as my desktop PC. I am in the process of narrowing down the possibilities. I synced my desktop to what the laptop loads and no error. So I am re-enabling addons one at a time until the error reappears.

Also getting this and it's on line 24 and 175 of ZO_ComboBox.lua. Both are 'attempt to index a nil value'.

Everything appears to be in working order. So...who knows.

Went through the whole process of disabling and re-enabling addons. Did not update any addons (auto update off in Minion). When I was done, all addons had been re-enabled and the error was no longer occurring.

So... :shrug:...no idea what caused this.

Aaaaand literally seconds after I post the last message, I logged out to the character screen and brought in a different character only to find that the ComboBox error is back.

No changes to addons

if you use bug catcher updated it will store the bugs in the addon and stop your screen filling up with them. i know its not a fix but might stop them happening at times you dont want

It is indeed Chat Window Manager.
**NOTE**Chat Window Manger does not show up here ...Settings>Addons. It only shows up on the actual Addons selection.

I had the exact same error coming up when I logged into the game a few moments ago.
I went in to my actual Addons list and unticked Chat Window manager, done a reloadui, no error message.

I even took it a step further and logged completely off the game and then logged back on and entered the game once again on the same character and no error.

But once I put a tick back in Chat Window Manager ...this happened

The combobox UI element was updated in Update 40 so that it is always scrollable. Prior to Update 40, only some variants of comboboxes were scrollable.

This change is mostly transparent to addons, and most addons are not affected this change. Unless the addon uses a customized combobox.

During PTS, there were numerous cases of addons with customized comboboxes that broke due to this change. Many of them were updated to take into account the changes in Update 40, but addons that had customized comboboxes that were not updated will now trigger the kinds of errors that are seen here.

The best thing to do is to contact the addon author and tell them that their custom combobox now needs a Dropdown child element in order to be compatible with the changes in Update 40.
