Alik'r dolmen antiquity: why?

I have a simple question: why add an antiquity lead for a furnishing to an Alik'r domlens? That is probably the most farmed activity in the game. I predict that this will be worse than Void Crystal anomaly. In about 10 min of running the Alik'r train I got two of them (that included the time to excavate them).

I know that I can keep the lead to prevent the new one from dropping, but still... Why?

Because they're trying to find more places to put leads apparently.

    I hate dolmens....

I would imagine they are adding leads to popular farmed areas because there have been complaints in the past that some leads were very difficult to farm.

I think its awesome, personally. I'm going to go farm up a whole bunch and go build something with them.

Should they hide the lead behind the last boss of vRGhm?
I mean.. come on... of all the activities in the game, Alikr Dolmen are the easiest to farm. Just join one of the grinding groups and you will get loot and a chace for the drop no matter what.

I think you misunderstood my post. I'm not complaining that it's hard to get it. I'm saying we are going to get flooded with them.

Alik'r dolman roads needs some good sturdy paving, 4 lanes minimum.

That must be it. Now it all makes sense. Why didn't I think about it?
On a side note, the relief is bigger than I expected. I was hoping to use it as a picture on a wall, but unless you have a big Redguard house it will be problematic unfortunately.

I know, I stated this in the opening post. I'm just surprised with the choice of the source. They could have chosen anything than the most used activity. It does not have to be grindy, just really anything else. Well, I already got all 3 today for the codex. So need another one to keep open, and I will not see it again till next event.

People keep complaining about hard leads, like water nodes, watchlings, psijic portals, safeboxes, final secret boss... ZOS does the opposite and makes it easy, and people still complain :)

It is good that it is easy to get. Would very much prefer it this way. Go there and do this simple common task when you need more of it, rather than spend hours and hours grinding dungeon over and over for one chance every 20 minutes.

As I understand its a purple lead? Asking because getting from 5 to 7 put an kink in your tail.
Purple lead's are not super rare but not efficient to farm just to level up scrying the way the Void Crystal anomaly is for getting from 7 to 9 😸
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

You do not have to scry and excavate every lead. If you do not want the thing just leave the lead to lie until it expires.

I won’t complain about that!!! A lead that drops too often can simply be ignored. What of one that never drops? Those tied to treasure chests are the WORST! I haven’t gotten a single treasure map for the Telvanni Peninsula since the event and those I bought from guild traders were worthless, despite having the passive, etc.

Thank you, ZOS, please out more leads behind activities and stuff that can be farmed simply by playing the game, harvesting, even opening the chests that don’t require a map!

One of the Telvanni treasure map leads is available to buy in the rotating shop in Endless Archive. Probably not the one you need but worth keeping an eye on what pops up in there.

    To summarize this thread.

Yes, I know that I do not have to dig the lead (as stated in the opening post).
No, I'm not in favor of the leads hidden behind treasure maps (especially multiple ones in the same zone) or other sources that impose double RNG.
I'm more of a person that prefers "Yay, a lead" instead of "Ugh, not this one again".

I hope this clarifies any miscommunication in the future,

I hear you. I just would rather it this way than the opposite, and felt the need to speak up because it seems to me that ZOS maybe overcorrects sometimes, like those invisible tapestry scraps in Blackwood that I’m imagining were in response to some players saying the sparkling tablets (N. Elsweyr) and instruments (Greymoor) were too easy.

This or you can have an alt dig it up to level scrying for the chest passive, getting from 5 to 7 is an pain.
You can always delete the item afterward.

I got it in Volenfell yesterday, too. I don't do Alik'r dolmen so I know mine didn't come from there. I think it is likely zone specific rather than activity specific.

Got mine from a clothing survey node. I think it's one of those leads where any source in the zone works.

Seems like. Got another one, different account, from a runestone node.
