How often end-game quality tank need healing receiving ?
[need replying from only experienced CP over 1000 end-game quality healer]

Sorry for very abstractive question.

One day I meet CP1500 tank in Vet WGT dungeon. Not fake for normal dungeon.
At least 1 shield and taunt skill, but bit squashy for Vet difficulty rather than my healer.

My healer is the best healer among the PUG team so far from my experience, not fake at all.
But, I couldn't let them alive at the last boss, Because they're too much squashy, or brain dead.

Tank was killed by AoE or heavy attack, or caught by some trap many times even with my
much of rapid healing skill. And, wiped everyone 6 times with noHM because of
tank's death. My magika pool was totally dried out because of them.
I gave up pledge finally. ( Mr tank was complaining about healing, but that guy kept receiving
more healing than 2DD, I thought.)

....So, I want to ask against veteran healer people.
"How often end-game quality tank need healing receiving ?"
(ex how much direct healing per 60 sec?, or healing area only are enough?)

By the way, I tested same pledge by my tank, our healer was 100% fake.
But finished no HM mode without death.

I have [1Tough tank] [1StamSorc-DD] [1Necro-DD] [1Real Healer]
with [1Stam Blade].
But, I'm Tank main player. Recently I'm doing Healer.

First, define quality since that is open to opinion. 1k CP means nothing in the measure of a good player. It just means they have been playing the game for a while.

A tank needs healing when they need it. It varies by instance as different fights have different mechanics. It varies by tank competency and knowledge of the fight mechanics. Some mechanics and their damage can be avoided by sidestepping or dodge rolling. Some fights put out stacking damage.

Case in point. I have been in an instance that was a smooth run. The next time we ran that instance with the same healer they commented they thought they had done a good job healing until they ran with another group. After that, they realized we knew the mechanics very well which meant we took significantly less damage.

Then again, I have been with healers that struggled to keep groups alive and it was due to their skill.

Depends on content. Tank should be able to burst heal themselves (though DSA snb or class skill) but do not have access to good HoTs. That said, in that situation I would say the tank probably didn’t have enough mitigation or skill. WGT HM is not hard to tank… unless they were ignoring mechanics.

tanks are typically very self-sufficient in vet dungeons (hence the commonality of 1 Tank + 3 DD). if they were dying repeatedly to heavy attacks and aoe in WGT, that sounds like a tank skill issue more than a healer issue. Healer often focuses on healing the DD, buffing, dps, and occasionally throwing a heal and synergy toward the tank.

Sounds like 100% a Tank Issue. The only time i need healing as a Tank is usually during a specific Mechanic where someone else has to heal you back to full like Corie Aerie for instance when you get Lingering Current During Main Boss fight from one of the Birds and Healer has to Heal you thru it. Best of Luck!

Good tank doesn't need a healer at all in dungeons, including vet dlc HMs. Vet trials are different story tho. Depending on fight, healers literally may need to babysit tanks.

This is confusing. What exactly do you want to know? Could you try using other words please?

For example, "regeneration" of healing staff skill is direct healing.
(I'm using "Runemend or Remedy Cascade" of Arcanist skill instead of regeneration.)

I'm asking that how often should healer use those type of skill just only for the tank?

My tank doesn't need those type of healing except only few of specific mech of Vet dungeon.
Mostly mine is the self surviving style tank.

However, most of high CP tank(CP1300~1900) who is in PUG team demand lots of healing
receive. Just Why? If I keep doing those behavior, my magika pool dried out so fast.
    They're very nonsense.

Why there're so many of nonsense high CP tank in the ESO?

    Agree.
I met CP1900 crappy tank and useless 1KCP DD also 1KCP crappy healer in normal DoM before.

    But...

If those useless high CP tank did nonsense tank build intentionally, then why they want to do so?
For PVP? But I think that both low damage and squashy build will not work in PVP zone.

Only for old DLCs. For newer DLCs, that statement is hyperbolic nonsense.

Fire DoT in Stone Garden HM.
    Lingering Current in Coral HM.
    Breath in Earthen Root HM.
Laser Beams in Bal Sunnar HM.

@AvalonRanger I'm guessing the tank got killed either on the 3 bosses boss (the one where the scroll gets taken/second boss) or the last boss. Both are tank skill issues. Neither would be solved with massive heals.

I also wonder what the tank's health was, as well as its resistances to be taking that heavy of a beating

In no particular order (and, maybe, combined), assuming healer was competent, tank
    • had low resistances/self buffs
    • was ignoring mechanics
    • suffered lag/latency/desynch so tank thought they were avoiding effects they weren't
    • low health without mitigation(self-buffs/heals etc)

To answer specific question("How often end-game quality tank need healing receiving ?"): preferably always. Having a competent healer is a HUGE relief for a tank, not just for healing but for resource return and/or buffs/debuffs they may provide.

An issue with ESO is that play as you want giving us free choice in pretty much everything for creating build. Some put together a build they think is cool but the performance in a dungeon is poor.

Before I ceased using the GF to find a group and solely run with guildies I saw extremely poor-performing DDs far too often. If that can be with a DD then it can easily be the same with a tank.
