Will JC finally get a dedicated standalone harvesting node? Sharing with Blacksmithing is one reason why JC mats are so expensive by comparison.
And what do you mean by 15+10 and 7+3? Is there a way to increase the material rewards, that I do not know of? 😱
15+10 and 7+3 is the number of mats currently in 'shipment of' boxes from writ rewards - the higher is what you get from other crafts, 15 of your current tier mats and 10 of a random lower one. 7+3 is what's in the JC one, 7 platinum and 3 lower. That's at max level anyway, maybe its less with lower writs?
3 - Will the grain-plating conversion carry over to the trait mats too? And at 10:1 for whole mats same as whole platings? It would be nice to think the single swift grain sitting in my craft bag (from when I deconned something by mistake) will finally be useful!

They stated it. 1 grain = 1 new plating. 1 old plating = 10 new platings.
Banked and store grains and platings will convert into ancient one. That's basically just renaming them. And when they go into your backpack they will converted accordinly

If they don't change it to plating, they could make it fit with the other Leyawiin bookcases.
Currently it requires: Heartwood (13), Clean Pelt (10), Ochre (6), Ivory Brigade Clasp (2), Mastic (3), Zircon Grains (1)
They could easily change to: Heartwood (13), Clean Pelt (10), Alchemical Resin (9), Ochre (6), Ivory Brigade Clasp (2), Mastic (3).
It would be nice if they clarified, but we'll see on the PTS soon(ish)™

Hopefully so. I’m on console so I have to rely on you folks to investigate on my behalf. I did make a thread literally asking about that specific issue the day the Twitch stream ran, but it was highjacked into general talk/speculation about the overall jewelry crafting changes and then a mod moved it to the Crafting subforum and I have since given up on an answer happening there anymore.
1 - Will existing master writs keep their value? Given that guild stores are still full of the old writs from before the values were changed, it seems likely they won't touch them but I'd really like confirmation so I don't have to panic to do them all.

Why would you panic do them all before the rebalance? Whether they reduce or increase the amount of writ vouchers for the writs (it sounds like it said they would do nothing to them), it's still likely to be way more profitable to do them after the rebalance. Because it takes 4 Chromium platings now to do 1 gold master writ, and those 4 platings will turn into 40 platings with update 40, and it'll only require 8 of them to do the master writ after the rebalance.

Does deconstructing Jewelry give sometimes a plating ?

This was the first thing I checked, and sadly the Trait stones are NOT getting converted along with the Platings. I made a thread for it.5 - Will it be linked to Summerset still? I think this is likely but you never know.
Master Jewelry station required Summerset.

Did anyone successfully complete an EXISTING Gold Master Writ (the one that ~600 writ vouchers and supposed to stay unchanged) with the new platings? I think I saw a post where someone was unable to do it.

i saw posts saying that people were able to complete pre-patch writs using post-patch platings
the issue that player was running into was a bugged addon that will need to be updated before it goes live
post-patch though, the blue jewelry writs wont exist, purple will have writ values similar to current blue jewelry writs, and gold will have similar voucher amounts to other crafts such as clothing

1. I am pretty sure that they will only delete the blue writs from the game, because that is what they stated, right?
2. It didn't sound like this will happen. However it should happen fir balance reasons. Let's ts wait for the patch notes.
3. Again. No mention on this, but it should happen, because of balance.
4. I expect the will stay the same, although they should change and all traits should drop randomly in overland.
5. I think they are pushing it into base game.
6. No idea. Maybe?
7. That MUST happen! I hope they didn't overlook this.
8. Doubtful. The amount was chosen with the lower crafting costs per writ in mind. However, the ratio between cost and return is lower than on the other equipment crafting writs. Maybe a small adjustment is in order?
9. I am sure the drop chances will adjust to the other equipment crafting standards.
@lillybit Two more things.
Will JC finally get a dedicated standalone harvesting node? Sharing with Blacksmithing is one reason why JC mats are so expensive by comparison.
And what do you mean by 15+10 and 7+3? Is there a way to increase the material rewards, that I do not know of? 😱

8. Is it really lower crafting costs? 150 rings are only 10 but necks are 15 so on average it's not far off the others, most other things seem to be around 13.
Very much doubt they'll add dedicated nodes if the didn't when it was first introduced but we can hope! I'll add it to the list

Platinum nodes are currently shared with Blacksmithing, one spot can randomly come up with either which reduces the amount you can find
- if someone is going around just picking Platinum, which happens a lot, on average half those node will spawn back as ore and that repeats if nobody starts picking ore. @Zodiarkslayer wanted to know if this would change but sadly it doesn't appear so

Thanks for answering. Like probably many players out there I'm trying to figure out if I should do gold/purple writs now or wait after update (writ vouchers are more valuable to me than platings). If the existing writs voucher value stays the same AND they are not bugged, then waiting seems the right course of action.

This should say: post-patch though, the blue jewelry writs will no longer be produced but existing blue jewelry writs can be completed and turned in for their current voucher value.
I just completed two to confirm that I would be able to.

🤦♂️ ...
Blacksmithing and Jewelry Crafting share the mining node. At random, the game will decide which one will spawn.
In my experience out of ten mining nodes I come across 4 will be empty, 4 will be ores and only 2 will be seams.
With a dedicated, i.e. no sharing with any other craft, you would have 6 seams out of 10 nodes.
6 is more than 2. That is why my question is important. To establish whether the devs are planning to do something about platinum availability as well.
