Jewelry Trait Stones still getting the grain treatment

Zinc, Antimony, Cobalt, Dawn Prisms etc. are still in full trait stone format and ‘Pulverized’ form, unlike the Platings which are now all full Platings.

Yes, I’m aware no one actually said those were getting converted too, but I want to call it out as I feel it should be standard across the materials.

Agree with this, considering they are becoming the same as the other craft lines it feels like this is a bit of an oversight.

Also not sure why we dont have hirelings now either. Initial I believe the reason was for these to be "hard" to obtain but surely thats gone.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_Kevin Any chance of getting this confirmed?

im kind of surprised they didnt just include this while they were overhauling the plating/grain situation, but at the same time as long as they are working on it, if they can take care of this next update then ill be fine with waiting until then

jewelry trait mats are already kind of difficult to obtain because only 3 of them come on normal drops, the other 6 traits have special sourcing

I mentioned this in the feedback post. I refined 2k dust and got 20+ gold platings but only enough fragments for a single trait mat. What use is it swimming in platings if you can't actually make anything because trait mats are still so hard to get?

Could kinda understand them wanting the 'exclusive' traits to stay rare but they could at least make the normal 3 whole mats.

I've only ever really used JC for Master Writs but I doubt I'll even do those now they're worth less but trait stones are still as hard to get

its possible they only considered the "recreation" option when simplifying jewelry

that method does not need trait materials, nor does transmuting to the correct trait if you needed to say craft traitless

sounds to me like they either forgot about the unrefined trait mats, or are trying to put more emphasis on transmute stones lol

Generally speaking they aren't worth nearly as much so it is a much lower impact, although triune could be a little easier to get, so am not terribly concerned, but I was hoping they would give those the same treatment as well.

Agree it’s a lower impact, just more that they aren’t really aligned with all other crafting skills like they say they intended.

Add to that the trait stones are locked behind content it makes it it a bit imbalanced to do master writs.

Get triune being in PVP currency and behaves almost like nirnhoned in craglorn but at least make the others be sourced in the same way as the other stones through refining etc if not going to apply the same grain conversion rules.

Just seems like half a job tbh and have a legacy of stuff out of sync like when hybrid changes came in.

This is my take on it. When master writs were adjusted up and blue one introduced, I did everything! I had plenty of mats because I didn't really do JC master writs before and it was easier to just farm jewelry than upgrade. I also do a bit of everything in game so had a fairly even amount of the rare stones. So I was doing OK. It didn't take long before I ran out of everything tho - platings, trait mats, even platinum. I stopped doing blue writs for ages after that and when I started again I could only fund the normal traits for blue, the others get given away or destroyed. But I didn't stop because of the platings, it was a combination of everything.

If you're mostly planning to upgrade dropped or reconstructed gear it's absolutely great. All you need is the platings. If you actually craft things tho, and do master writs, platings will be much easier to get than trait mats so over time it'll only get worse.

The rarer trait mats are comparable to style mats for the Ancestral motifs now I think, and guild banks are full of master writs for those going cheap because nobody want to do them. In the end I don't think purples will be any more worth doing than blues are now. I haven't decided for gold ones yet but at 100 wv it's borderline.

They've recognised the problem and fixed one part of it while leaving the others untouched so there's a massive disconnect now.
