Without real dates this announcement is really not worth anything.
If 2/3 of the announcement is TBD, who needs an announcement at all?

Well, early september and late september is some information. Usually events start on thurdsdays, so early september will be 7th on 14th (I bet it will 7th, because there will be second event same month) and late september will be 21st or 28th. It's still July so I think that's still good enough information for now.

Can only hope the next event runs betters than Zenithar.

Or can we expect 1 hours long queues for Undaunted and Telvani too? If so, let us know now. I expect you'll have far fewer people playing.

Is the free trial the reason why there are such long queues? Not fair to us veterans.

The big piece of information here is "no August event" which is nice to know. A little break from events is definitely welcome.

I was thinking they would leave September open since Starfield is coming out and a lot of people will be playing that instead.

Don't worry about September. I am pretty sure Starfield will not be playable for a while. Games like that are being released before they are ready, and some of them never get out of the beta test phase...

Pretty sure that dual events in Sept is a better way to retain players attention from Starfield than letting them sit.

But honestly, I doubt Starfield will be a problem. Many players who play this game play other games at the same time. And for the ones who do not, ESO risks the same player retention falloffs with any major game release. Starfield isn't really abnormal to that.

Starfield is a Bethesda game. If they ‘lose’ people from ESO to Starfield, they make money. Where if Starfield doesn’t poach any players from ESO, they don’t make as much money. That’s why it’s odd.

Eh, it is a bethesda game, yes.

But also, all of their players are going to be xbox/pc, and most will likely be using Gamepass. So, they make money whether a players plays it or not. Same for ESO really on Xbox.

repeatable/daily quests in dlc events give event tickets so the bastion nymic daily quest would be one of them
the others would be the delve, world boss, and trial quests
    plenty of choice

I know, I just hope we will be able to chose. In other "year long story" events, usually we got 1 event ticket for 1 "Chapter size" zone daily quest and other event ticket for smaller "dlc size" zone daily quest (example Northern Elsweyr & Southern Elsweyr).

But the current "year long story" only has 1 zone and there won't be any additional zones for this year "theme". So my fear is that they will do 1 event ticket for one daily quest and the other for the dreaded & disliked "World Event" that is either totally un-doable for majority of players or takes ages to solo. I just hope they realise backlash it will cause, should the decide to do that.

the first time a chapter event happens it's only for that chapter so no.

when it's a new chapter event it is only for the new chapter and not also another dlc

though it's a part of a multi year story
so it's possible in 2026 when the 2024 chapter event would return it'll be the necrom event combined with the 2024 chapter event,
like happened with the tribunal celebration combining with the summerset celebration into the daedric war celebration for 2022.

that's years away, but even then we would have the choice of four quests to get one event ticket from Necrom so no need to worry about any of the times a necrom event happens

we've always had the choice of multiple quests to earn event tickets during dlc events as the dlc zones have multiple quests so i do not understand why you think this time will be different.

    edited to add:
we have had Whitestrake's Mayhem in May and June and we were able to use whichever repeatable quests in Cyrodiil and imperial city we wanted and those zones have even more repeatable quests than chapter zones.

there are no specific quests you need to complete to get tickets during dlc events we always have so much choice

Here's how it worked when it was tested on the PTS. 2 tickets when the first daily Necrom quest was turned in, or weekly Sanity's Edge trial quest.

Undauted Celebration on September is still TBD.
I wonder why precise information about dates is not given to players. Who benefits from not giving certainties? Is it so bad that players want to schedule their commitments to be able to participate more in events? Why stop players from making their own plans with the calendar? In the MMORPG game I played years ago, the calendar meticulously predicted dates for events two months in advance. I don't understand why it's not possible here.

Based on the crown store showcase for Sept, Undaunted starts either on the 7th or on the 14th.

To answer this, we give the timeframe of the month to allow our team a buffer incase dates need to be shifted for whatever reason. We also don't want to announce too early just to have a date shift, causing issues for those who planned for specific dates to take time off work or plan vacations. So giving a timeframe at least gives an idea of our target timeframe, and then we can confirm when we are closer to the event date. We are working toward a calendar in the future, but that is still under development.

Yes, this will be for Necrom owners as the event is tied to Necrom thematically.
