It's a MMORPG: it evolves over time. Sometimes we like it, sometimes not. That's it. Beside, what is negative for one can be positive for another, and there are those who don't care because it doesn't impact their way of playing.

So, all in all, there is no change that can get 100% agreement. No matter the change, some could leave out of rage, but many will stay and game life will keep going. :D

    Worried? No.

Cognizant of the fact that controversial changes to the game and continued indifference by ZoS to what players actually want are making it less desirable for people to continue playing and will eventually lead to players moving on to other games? Yes.

Not sure why we have eight responses to choose from for a question that is a simple yes or no question. A response for not caring, such as is with the last one listed is fine but the rest are just other ways to say yes or no and as such are merely diminishing the value of the poll.

Beyond that, I see no point in wasting my time worrying about such trivial matters since there is not much information out there. I see no point in creating something to worry about. I have better things to do with my time and energy.

It doesn't matter anymore. They managed to wreck the game beyond repair, so I stopped caring.

"Endless Archives" sounds like the place where PTS feedback goes to die, tbh.

All the new lore books in there are just forum posts from old PTS cycles.

I mean they have not even fixed the jabs animation bug in 1st person depsite many reports, myself included.

If they neglect such a simple thing for so long they will continue to focus on what they think is most fun/best for the game. I don't even care with the PTS and giving feedback since it falls on deaf ears anyway.

I am not worried about anything but I am just disappointed with the state this game is in and what it has become.

If so, and if it's good, it could bring me back to the game or play it a lot more like I used to - the good old days!!
As an old player (who pass all trifectas in game (not including only last 2 dlc trials), fishing and professionally threw pies and mud at people), I'll take a couple of notes. The latest zos updates did some really good stuff, but it's not enough. And in the process, they make even more mistakes that need to be corrected.

    1. For example. New arcanist class. Is it generally good? - Yes. New skills, visual component and more.
And what's wrong with him? -He just broke the whole combat. Any other class, even with vast experience in the game, is noticeably inferior to the pumped arcanist, who receives incredible protection and damage, adding to everything this ability to move in dynamics and play effectively for all roles. Why do you need other classes if there is an arcanist? - he literally gives almost everything you need in huge sizes. In addition, only for the arcanist unique gameplay through the beam (Unfortunately, his beam only works through one build. It cannot be used on other classes and will only work HERE) (All other classes are a copy of each other. The only difference is in visual effects. All builds and mechanics of builds and classes are exactly the same. Even more, you can assemble an arcanist through the same template and voila, you will get a perfect copy again! And what's more, as it turned out, it already has a very well balanced zos for both mage and stamina. Surprising, isn't it? This means that soon the arcanist's beam will die from a nerf and the arcanist will become like everyone else). It's literally P2W.
    2. The complete lack of a sense of class. It doesn't matter if you play as a templar or a necromancer, you won't feel it at all. You are just the same class, just with different effects. (For example, as an idea. Give Cleansing ritual templar skill to forbid corpses from spawning in this area and allow the templar to bless corpses so that the necromancer cannot use them. Even such a trifle would make the class unique).
    3. Lack of content. PvE releases an unimaginably small amount of content in 2023. And even that one comes with ready-made presets, this is the work of literally 2 people in 1-2 months. All other presets and textures can be bought using freelancing and AI. And what's more, even this content uses a crazy amount of OLD ELEMENTS! Which, by the way, were not even fixed and left in the same state as on the day the game was released.
    4. In other games, for a small cost of just the game itself, developers rivet a crazy amount of cosmetics that you can get for FREE, DLCs come out in the form of simple updates, and they get money thanks to the community support itself and separate cosmetics that you can simply buy to your taste at any time. AND DO NOT LIMIT COSMETICS IN THE GAME TO SUCH A STATE THAT GLOWING AND COOL OUTFIT WILL BE ONLY IN KROWNSTORE FOR 999999 CROWNS AND SUPER BEAUTIFUL THINGS ONLY IN CRATES.
    5. Pvp is dead. Not a single map has been issued even for bg since the time of murkmire. This is way worse than awful.... Zos, modders are ready to make you maps LITERALLY FREE for a change if you ask them, but you don't need it.

This is not a small list of reasons why I stopped coming in and donating to the game. The developers themselves are not very interested in it. They can make each update literally like an ENTIRE CHAPTER with new mechanics, but they don't want to do that.

P.S. Server hardware update made the optimization even worse. How do you even do it? Why is the game lagging with my rtx 3060, ryzen 7, 32gb ram and inthernet 1gb/sec IN RUSSIA. I don't have lags in any game like this one!

Nah, not playing the game atm, whatever lol....
I'm more worried about them NOT making changes. For the past few years, 95% of my game time is spent just logging in, doing crafting dailies, and buying Crown store stuff with gold from crafting dallies (and way too much of my own money). I'll do the mainstory quests for Chapters with zones that seem particularly compelling, but, mostly, I'm just playing other games while waiting, in vein, for them to finally make Overland content compelling to quest through again (by increasing Overland difficulty with a slider or something). But, now, with no more Crown store gifting, there is no point in doing the dallies for gold (or logging in at all).

So between that and all these annoying battle passes in other games forcing me to spend time elsewhere, and with Starfield out, there is nothing at all drawing me to ESO anymore. I've always loved housing, but even housing is a huge pain without improvements. I'm not interested in buying giant storage house number 20 just to spread furnishings out in an even more hard to keep track of mess.

So. yeh. Changes are welcome. And, fast.

    Depends on the changes...

I would love to see the rhythm mini game known as weaving go by the wayside...I would also love to see the entire game open up to everyone not just the hardest of the hardcore players...say a Story mode for vet Dungeons and Trials.

I know this will make some Veterans heads explode...but if you think about it, they spent all of this dev time on the Endless Dungeon when they could have just done that and made the vast majority of the community much happier.

    My two cents.

They had every opportunity to make this game reach it's full potential, but for whatever reason they lost interest a long time ago. Everything good they are trying to do is too little and way too late. It has been like that for way too long and it doesn't look like this is ever going to change.

For me this game reached maintenance mode with uninspired copy paste "ideas" years ago. The endless archive (=call of duty zombie mode) will probably be more fun to play than the card game, but it's not going to do anything about the fundamental problems of this game.

I worry in the sense that I enjoy this game and each of these 'improvements' destroys or impacts the playability of the parts I do enjoy.

The incessant and fruitless combat changes are a pain.
The 'fixes' that break 10 other things, the serious lack of respect players are shown... It saddens me deeply to watch something I enjoy so much disintegrate in such a slow and useless manner.

This has been my main game for many years and I don't like most of the new games that are dropping, so I'd prefer this one to be kept up and properly maintained.

    Yes.

While I believe that Endless Archive will be a solid dungeon experience, I expect that it will be more effort than the reward and people will be forced to endure poor rewards while trying to attain some low probability drop.

As for the "major changes", if the last couple of years have been any indicator, these changes will divide the community, chase players away, probably attract new players that won't stick around, and generally be a bad idea.

We will find out, but I am certainly not hopeful. The days when players used to look forward to new things in the patch notes are long past. That has been replaced by an underlying fear, followed by relief if they avoided the wrath of the patch notes.

I don't look forward to updates because for the most part, they are never a positive experience for me since U35.

There have been some improvements in QOL but they are completely dwarfed by the nerf hammer. So no, I dread changes. My trust is completely broken and nothing in these last few updates have done anything to restore it.

Don't know, but if so, and if it's something I don't like, it could be the last straw for me.
This endless dungeon stuff was one of the major reasons I did not buy the Necrom chapter. I don't do dungeons.

Ultimately I decided there wasn't enough for me in new chapter.

This endless dungeon stuff was one of the major reasons I did not buy the Necrom chapter. I don't do dungeons.

Ultimately I decided there wasn't enough for me in new chapter.

For me, I like to be able to go into a dungeon when the mood strikes. Delves and public dungeons, mainly. Group dungeons when I need transmute thingies, which is not very often. I don't make dungeons the reason I am here, though. That is quests, story, and exploration, and this year is pretty bleak on that front.

Still, the endless dungeon thingy interests me, but as I am not really attracted to the solo arenas, I am not sure how much I will use it. I like going into delves and public dungeons because I can just go in there and smite things until I get my fill. That is not the arena mentality, so I don't like doing the arenas. Too organized and formal, and that makes me feel like I need to stick around even after I get bored with it. On top of that, I just want to have fun, but feel like the arena scoring takes the fun away. I really don't care how good I am doing, but I know that a score is being kept, so that is always in the back of my head. I play pass-fail. If the monsters die before me, pass. If I die before the monsters, fail. That is all the scoring I need.

My expectation for the endless dungeon is that it will be a variation of an arena. Formal. Organized. Scored. It will just allow small groups of players instead of only solo, and will keep going until they cry 'uncle'. I am certain it will be scored, with leader boards and all that. I am equally certain that any attractive drops will be weighted so low that hundreds of attempts will be required before RNG reluctantly hands it out. No dungeon or arena in the game is so interesting that it doesn't get boring after the hundreth attempt.

I also expect them to over-think it. Make it some big grand thing. I just want to go do something. On my schedule. When I want. On a whim. Nothing fancy. No waiting around for a group. Able to complete it, or not, at my own pace. No strings attached or the feeling of 'people' watching over my shoulder scoring me, with signs numbered 1...10. Oh, and I want to get a decent reward for doing it before I get bored and wander off to do more interesting things.

Hopefully, they learned from Bastion Nymic and don't pile a boatload of game play and structure in front of the dungeon entrance. Too formal. The more work I have to do before I can enter the dungeon, the less interested I am in the dungeon.

So, while I am interested, I am not holding my breath.

As for Necrom... quests, story, exploration. That is enough for me to buy it, although, it is over priced at regular price.
