No Aetherial Dust on DLC Zones why?

is there a mistake or something im skipping?
We can farm aetherial dust on Base Game Areas but not on DLC why?
we are paying for a Game Content that is incomplete? ive been playing since release, i do Xbox, PC and PS, and as i noticed is that Aetherial Dust only drops on Non DLC Zones, which makes no sense, because if we pay for the Zones DLC we should be able to use em at its fully, its not even a ''pay to win'' wall or whatever, as its drops on every base game zone, but then US who go farm on Paid zones cant drop em? Why? is there a plausible explanation for this? this is messed up, we pay ESO Plus or buy the Zones and we dont get aetherial dust to drop on DLC.
I hope to this be fixed, cuz this is a bad Choice on Environment Design (i say that as a dev). how can you sell a DLC and etc to us if that does not include the minimum feature of the game?
any comment on that please? from a dev? this is something that got be adressed

Aetherial dust was always intended to be farmed in the base game zones. It was a way to get people to play in the base game zones again.

It is a design choice. No one "farms" base zones for aetherial dust, it's as futile as farming mourning dew. Craglorn is probably the most farmed zone and it's for the specific reason of Nirncrux, but also Aetherial Dust has a chance of being harvested.

The real tragedy is that the people who need Aetherial Dust most will probably never see or obtain it in the window that would make it most useful, and are more likely to get exp boosts from daily login rewards.

Only for the one 150% potion. The 50% and 100% take much more common or even guaranteed ingredients. They are far more cost effective, especially since all sources of xp gain are additive with each other. The extra 50% from the Mythic Ambrosia is on the base xp value only, so it might provide even less than 20% relatively if you’re already running training gear during an xp event with ESO+, etc. A lot of people would not find that increase worth 10x the price over the 100% potion.

I've been playing since before Aetherial Dust was even a thing and I've only ever seen 2 of them. Actually farming them would be insane.

I agree. No one farms for it. They farm for other things. Once every couple years, one drops. Then they have to go out to some wiki to find out what it is.

In just under a year, i've wound up with one Cipher and 3 Dusts. I have NO idea where they dropped. Don't have any use for them, and not into hawking in zone chat. Um. No. I don't use the Guild Trader system.

I didn't realize that Aetherial Dust is a feature that I'm paying for. I must have missed it in the list of features when I started to think about buying ESO.

I also didn't realize that Aetherial Dust is limited to the base game zones, but that's okay with me. Mourning Dew is limited to Cyrodiil. And those special style mats like Ancient Sandstone, Scarab Elytra, Viridian Dust, Vitrified Malondo, Shimmering Sand, Cassiterite Sand, and many others are limited to specific expansion zones. Some materials are even limited to specific events. That's just the way those things have been designed to drop, and lobbying or protesting to get those sorts of "limited time or place" items added everywhere throughout the game would sort of cheapen them in the sense of turning them from sonething special into something commonplace.

Would you like some? I'm up to 13. I think it's like 950k on PCNA, I like to get rid of them all. Also got a Cipher to boot.

Dust is also not available in Craglorn.

I believe the answer to the question is, "it's a historical artifact".

You see, when this item was added to the game in 2016, there were the following zones:
    • Original zones at launch: alliance and Coldharbor
    • Craglorn: Nodes have a chance to drop Nirncrux
    • Wrothgar: Nodes have a chance to drop the Ancient Orc crafting material
    • Hew's Bane: Nodes have a chance to drop the Outlaw crafting material
    • Gold Coast: Nodes have a chance to drop the Order of the Hour crafting material

So why was Dust added only to the original zones? I think it's because they were the only zones that didn't already have an additional crafting material that dropped from the nodes.

Now, as time went on, the practice of including additional crafting materials in a zone's drops fell out of favor. Vvardenfell in 2017 was the last zone to have this. But at the time, every new zone had a new bonus item that you could get from harvesting nodes, and Dust was just a way of retrofitting a bonus drop to the original launch zones.

I've only ever found three, that I'd been holding onto due to their rarity.

But I recently sold all three of them since I couldn't bring myself to use them.

12 with the relevant provisioning passive (brewer).

They nerfed it from the CP node (Rationer) shortly after the release of CP 2.0 because it was misbehaving - giving longer duration than it should - and ZOS probably:

      a) didn't want to fix it
      b) it made ambrosias last longer than the 'premium' crown store scrolls even without the glitch (30mins base + 20mins with 'connoisseur' + 30 minutes with 'Rationer = 80 mins as opposed to 60 mins with the 'premium' scrolls) which is a huge no-no; fortunately they still kept it so it was buffed by the 'brewer' and 'connoisseur' passives though.

Because nothing says 'ZOS consistency' like a drink that is a drink but also isn't because 'bottom line matters more'.

I guess is consistency from a certain point of view as ZOS will consistently protect the bottom line at all costs? ;)

I checked and I seem to have have 3 Aetherial Dusts in my craft bag from habitually harvesting in this game for many years. If you need that ingredient for achievement you better grind gold and get it from trader instead of trying to grind it.

By the way https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Aetherial_Dust does not list Craglorn as a zone it drops. Is that incorrect?

      Nope, that is correct.

Craglorn nodes have a chance of dropping fortified/potent nirncrux, but cannot drop aetherial dust.
