What does the Flesh Heap in Wayrest Sewers II do?

There is a Flesh Heap by the Zombies in the area near the last boss that I can interact with once all the zombies are defeated, but what does it do? Clicking "E" makes me stomp on it but I don't see anything else happening. Anyone know what this is about?

Kappachi✭✭✭✭✭stops the zombies from infinitely spawning. if you don't stamp it out then they keep spawning6 -

✭✭✭✭✭It's over to the right of the final bosses, past that building in a dead end area. There are a lot of neutral zombies and if you defeat them all this Flesh Heap shows up. You can target it with E and it makes you stomp on it. My friend and I were both able to do it.PCNA0 -

Back in the days, Wayrest 1 was normal and 2 was vet. Maybe they never bothered to remove it from normal.1 -
