Has ANYONE found Mushroom Classification Books, or the Cliff Strider Skeleton Stand?

I wonder if anything will change. For example could the upcoming Necrom event result in more maps and prices falling? Or would ZOS eventually increase drop rates like they did with past antiquities?

I only know of one person who found a book and they spent millions. I'm not willing to, and none of the free or cheap maps I've found so far have dropped anything but trash.

Yep. I dug it up the other night. IF you are going to ask what it came from I do not recall as I had the lead for a while. I was cleaning up leads about to expire and it was one of those. Looks pretty cool though!
What is the definition of insanity? Ask ZOS.

I found both too. I got them using this Zenithar event treasure maps. Still several leads to uncover because I got duplicates of already discovered leads. Not gonna spend gold buying those maps. Already spent a lot to uncover High Isle and Blackwood leads and style pages.

I got a Necrom antiquity lead from a crafting writ.

I've had two from just doing stuff... and I don't even have Necrom!

It's already known that it comes from Telvanni Peninsula treasure map chests.

It's just the idea that the lead drop is already so rare, from an uncommon source (specific type of treasure chest from a specific map location)

Thus far I've gotten both of those leads twice, but I'm still missing 2 of the leads for the Apocryphal Well.

Exactly, it's a ridiculous grind. But do we know for sure now that the book and skeleton only drop from TP maps? Apocrypha maps only drop the fossils and well?

in todays pts patch notes it said that the drop rate for the well leads should be higher, so might be better to wait until after the next update to try farming that

This is a horrible design decision.
After 30+ Galen Treasure Maps 1 - i still got no skin lead. Chance to get this certain map is miserable and the leads drop rate is abysmal (for my stats less than 1:50 .. 1:60).
Placing leads behind the treasure maps, in my humble opinion, was done by the employees who do not understand and do not play ESO, but thinking how to make players to stay in game forever chasing the elusive drops. I d sincerely suggest Zenimax to play the employees theirs salary after they get 10 leads from treasure maps a month, provided they play like the ordinary players and don't cheat with admin tricks like summoning infinite gold or maps or leads. THEN they would most likely re-think theirs short-sighted decision or quit.
Again, horrible horrible design decision, @ZOS.

Glad I wasted 30+ maps already... this happens with every new content drop and makes me wonder if there is any oversight regarding drop rates. On a side note, I pulled 5-6 of the new paintings in the first two weeks of farming chests, but since then have farmed hundreds of new chests without seeing another painting. I guess they nerfed that drop rate into oblivion for whatever reason.

Its to stop the zone from becoming a ghost town after a week after release. That's why they did it this way :)

That might actually work if it was possible to farm treasure maps for a particular zone by doing activities in that zone. Allow treasure maps to drop from daily quest rewards and make it a 50% chance that a treasure map is for the zone it drops in, and you would get players continuing to do activities in the zone to farm leads. As it is you can farm treasure maps anywhere (albeit very inefficiently whatever zone's maps you're looking for), so there's no pull to keep players in the zone except occasionally someone running from the nearest wayshrine to a treasure map location, standing there excavating for a minute and then wayshrining out again.
