How are you preparing for Necrom?

I've decided I'm going to change the rhythm I play the game each year. Instead of putting 5 or 6 old characters through the new content, one after another, I'm going to make one Arcanist and play only that character from day 1 of the new chapter, moving them onto older content once Necrom is done.

I already have a name, and a backstory explaining how a young Mer living in Summerset was introduced to such an exotic form of spellcraft. Also explaining how they escaped all the BS of Altmer society without being a hulkynd.

Still to do:

Decorate the Alinore Crest townhouse as a long-dead uncle's Arcane workshop and library (with a gratuitously beautiful garden).

Park my other 18 characters.

Decide whether or not I'm going to follow the "Onus of the Ogma", and have my character keep a journal.

Practice Arcanism on the PTS to identify a good build to aim at.

Get hyped.

I don't prepare anything.

First, I want full surprise and try to avoid spoilers (what is close to impossible nowadays since people want to know all before it starts) and second, am not even sure I will do one, because I don't like much the leveling up in ESO and I'm not sure I feel to start a new char.

I have my Arcanist designed, and her name picked out. She's actually been ready long before the new class came out- I had been holding onto her in case a class suitable to her villainous aesthetic ever made an appearance, and Arcanist certainly fits.

I have a few things ready for her, but I haven't prepaired overtly because I want the playthrough to be somewhat organic and just...happen, if that makes sense.

One thing I DO need to do is go through my account and do some major organization after MYM so that all of my characters are accessible and able to do things like dalies and writs again. I'm so chuck full of gear to sell off after PVP everyday on my templar and the leftovers from the anniversary that my account just doesn't feel functional at the moment, let alone ready for a new character x.x;

I have a story for the new toon, I know the race, and I have the story that will play out once she's here. I do a fair amount of roleplay with a friend that's involved a bunch of our toons with some pretty grand storylines laced into major zone quests. It's been fun, and I'm looking forward to how this turns out

Also, of course just looking forward to gitting gud with the new class for dungeons, trials, etc.

Canceled my sub and log in only for the daily rewards when I remember to. This chapter has taken any desire I had to play right out of me. I may be back for the next DLC if it offers something to advance besides an Archanist.

I haven't prepared at all. I prefer to wait until the main crowd has moved on and the first post-update patch has fixed the most glaring issues, if any, and then I'll start an arcanist there. Beyond watching the first announcement and trailer I have deliberately not watched anything else nor been on the PTS as I prefer to start from scratch and take my time discovering it all rather than delve into it all before it goes live and then complain after it goes live that it wasn't worth the cost because it was finished in a couple of hours with both foreknowledge and addons!

i dont know if i would call it preparing, but i have an enormous excess of transmutes to possibly redo gear for 1 character and make new gear for the arcanist i plan on making

for me its basically going to be business as usual until release (participating in trials to work on gear, maybe dungeons for gear)

-Gathered enough transmute crystals to give both my new characters two specs(one tank and one DPS).
-Got all my first 18 characters to atleast Cadwell's gold. Will do the same with the two new characters.
-Wrote down a to-do list for what I want all my characters to have, so I can unlock those things on the two new characters. (blade of woe, excavation level 7, etc.)
-Stored two of each of the rare jewelry trait items in the bank.
-Have enough riding lessons stored to reach 60-60-60 on both new characters.
-Have gathered all companion guild rank tokens I possibly could(4).
-Wrote down what type and race I want my new characters to be, including what mounts would fit them.
-Stored enough writ vouchers(or master writs to collect enough) so I can immediately get the new crafted set stations for in my houses.
-Thought of what role I want my new companions to be(one healer, other uncertain).
-Thought of which alliance my two new characters will be.
-Checked out available information on the two new companions, specifically where to find them and their major rapport likes. So I can activate them before I start the necrom zone(s)/storyline, and so I can gain rapport on one of them right away.

So, are you prepared for what is to come?

Practiced the Arcanist a few times on the PTS, then got a deadly strikes lightning staff and Dreugh Wax. Also took a screenshot of the sliders on my Nightblade archer character since they’re probably going into storage for a long time

After a lot of theorycrafting I plan to play an Arcanist the opposite of how I would play Nightblade, it might be refreshing to no longer fuss over landing every light attack.

Mainly working on a background for my new orcanist (yeah, maybe shouldn't have orsinium dlc for the last month), give him a name, working on a plan when and why to unleash his class skills. That sort of things.

The chapter itself I won't see for the next months tho, as I do a slow-paced story run with my friend and we just arrived at goldcoast yesterday. So don't bother about that yet.

Just been storing non white gear drops and intricate gear, glyphs, to decon in my alts inventories. In preparation for the 2 new character slots.

Got to tier 1 on 13 of my characters so that I will have some transmute stones on hand, could not be stuffed doing all 18.

Other than that I have made sure to hoard some gold mats from daily writs, in case there is any new gear that interests me.

As for the companions they can share the gear I already have to level up then it will go to which ever one I find most useful.

I'm not planning to buy the chapter until it's discounted or something, and I'm not planning to make any arcanist characters.

I've been stockpiling some companion gear, however, because I expect my wife to get the chapter on one or more of her accounts.

I have Diablo 4 and Baldurs Gate 3 to try to find time for this summer so I’ll have time to wait on reviews and a sale.

Will be interested in hearing about how people like the expansion though.

Ive got one guildbank of intricate stored for my new writ alts, i have vouchers ready for new area crafting tables. Ill pick up the attunables on my main then speedrun the new area for achieve furnishings and whatever else is going. Then ill go back to what i normally do everyday.

I'm just disappointed that anyone who buys the new chapter now will get what looks to be a reasonably nice mount, while my pre-order months ago just got me the pizza mount. I wish I could trade one for the other.

As for preparation for the new chapter, I'm doing none.

I've soloed a dungeon few times for replacement set pieces/stickerbook for a ha oakensoul build. Other than that, no preparations needed. Nerfs do not require purchase. For chapter I'll wait for sale as usual.
