How are you preparing for Necrom?

Deconning all my Plaguebreak, because, for ZoS, balancing an item means nerfing to oblivion. Still annoyed over Stranglers after all this time, too. I am sure all the disabled people, using one bar setup people will also love the additional nerf this patch too.

Have enough stuff to get one of my arcanists to 50 in a couple of hours, or so. Have builds. Need to do final parsing to test. I know my gold farms for Necrom and Sanity's Edge will be interesting, although I wish they had spent more time on the sets, so there was an incentive to run it more.

Still hoping, at one point, they will revert the templar jabs back to the far, far superior animation. The same applies to the clunky Flurry line.

So far I've chosen a race and a name for my Arcanist and built them a library and Hermaeus Mora temple grounds (still need Apocrypha furnishings to come yet though and I'm not sure it wasn't all for my own benefit tbh LOL). Will be building up transmutes for any new gear I need. I've been holding off doing any of the HM overland quests and the Prologue to fill in my new character's "path of exploring/learning" for when Necrom drops.

I decided to make only 1 character of the Arcanists class, there won't be that much of a difference between a magic or stamina character. The class will be over powered for the first few months then it'll get adjusted, after that it should be clear which option, magic or stamina will be best. I'm stock piling xp scrolls, recipes, companion gear, etc. Instead of selling it all I just toss it in the bank. I'm not sure how much I'd use the new companions but at least my main/crafter Za'Dar will pick both of them up while exploring the lands. I haven't gone on the test sever and have tried to learn as little as I can about the new chapter. Once I did real play testing and reporting issues for Clockwork City and it basically ruined that chapter for me. I don't want to be burnt out on Necrom before it drops. I have a feeling that for me, playing mostly Khajiits and Bretons, Necrom will be fun to run a few characters through but after that, it'll become routine to the point of boredom grinding.

Still looking forward to heading out with Ember and Donkey to explore (and loot) new lands. :D

I'm not sure why you are saying Arcanist will be OP at launch and then nerfed later, when it's not even OP on PTS now. Also, it's designed to be a hybrid, as ZOS has said, "different from existing classes", so I doubt that will change. It's really the first class I can comfortably run with a mix of Light and Medium armor and spec'd into all Stamina for both staff and DW builds. When I tried spec'ing all magicka, my resource management was horrible, but going the other route and mixing armor and glyphs, I found success. But as for damage, it is definitely middle of the pack or less, unless you use very specific gear, and even then it's still not the top. I think it's better than when Warden launched, as it was horrible, but not sure how it compares to Necro at launch as I had stepped away from ESO during that time.

Thanks for the info update on the Arcanist. I haven't been on the PTS or watched any videos of it so I have no clue of what the Arcanist can do. The usual ESO course is that the new Class comes out over power and then get rebalanced a month or two later. In any event while the class maybe fun, I don't think it'll be worth the effort to make more then 1 Arcanist character.

I need to start earning some gold.
I am currently a pauper, and whilst that is very immersive and whatnot, I like having gold to buy motifs and furnishings that I'll never use but I should definitely buy them because maybe I'll need them one day!

So, I am in the market for gold-grinding options if anyone has ideas?

I have been keeping riding lesson from since the necro in case zos ever add a class/character slot so i have a few.
I must have about 250 xp scroll in my bank(keep forgetting to use them.
I have an idea of what my 2 characters will look like.

In the next month to console release, i'll check out what companion gear i need for the new one and shop around as needed. Also a few days before craft basic leveling gear for 2 arcanist

To do list for release week
    Create 2 arcanist
Unlock psijic on both(until portal passive only)
Do blackwood and high isle companion on both
Do new companion quest on them and all 18 others
When hitting lv10, do cyro intro for fast riding passive
Do whathever i feel like doing after that

I have to finish High Isle, Galen and all prologue quests before I can do Necrom. I also have to get my Magcro to AR 50 before I level an Arcanist.

I got my Arcanist leveling gear and even his PvE gear ready when he hits CP.

No rush to do this though, Midyear kind of burned me out so I am playing other games rn.

I also still need to play through the High Isle, Galen, and prologue content, but I won't let that stop me from creating Arcanist characters, or visiting the Telvanni Peninsula and doing things like fighting mobs and bosses or doing the dailies. I'll hold off on doing any quests per se until I'm finished with High Isle, Galen, and the prologue, but I've never stopped myself from going to every available zone "early" or "out of sequence." :)

Multiple chars and daily crafting writs. At 50, it is around 6.5k gold per char. I do 15 characters, which is roughly 100k a day.

With ESO+ it is 5.1k per character per day, so 92k each day if you do 18 character's dailies(excluding selling the other rewards and only counting the gold). But yes, this is the way to get gold, thiefing is another! But practically anything in this game grants you gold, just a bit slower.

Yeah, I'm an ARPG player too(D1, D2, PoE, etc), so I was kinda bummed they sort of have the same release date. But with everything I've seen from D4, I'm totally not interested in that one(same mistakes as D3). May get it once it is on a very large sale somewhere at some point in time. Because I still want to play it at some point.

You can't post this and not have screenshots ready!! :sunglasses:

At this point I'm trying to play ESO as little as possible, or any gaming really. So when Necrom drops I'll be prepared to play for a long while and not get burned out too quickly. Another thing I'm kinda worried about is crowns, at the moment I have too few crowns to even buy the second extra character slot. Due to missing the previous crown sale by two days, and having to skip the ones before that. So I'm hoping for another crown sale before Necrom drops! (which may be wise for ZOS to do anyways, as the EU(including me) is just now starting to recover from the energycrisis)

I am mentally preparing myself to buy necrom during october sale, just to complete it in a week (i do quests without reading them) of relaxed play and forget about it.
Maybe i will also get the new companions, despite that i do not need them at all (bastian tank, mirri boss dd, ember aoe dd, isobel healer - there are no roles for more companions).
Maybe i'l also get the new mythic amulet, despite that i do not play as DD.
New chapter is full of exciting stuff for me.

Haven't even bought the chapter yet, I'm simply not interested in Hermaeus Mora and Apocrypha or the Arcanist as a class.

If I get the chapter at all, it will be mainly for Naryu's and Ashur's quests.

Since I decided to make Arcanist my main character that's how I prepared:
-Items to deconstruct from every crafting tree (probably more than enough, possibly enough for 2 or 3 characters)
-Motifs, furnishing plans and food recipies gathered and waiting
-I roleplay a bit so I planned the name, the backstory etc
-I have planned the quest route, inlcuding companions and their rapport quests
-Also I'm a collector, I collect lorebooks and stuff so I did some reasearch and figure out which lorebooks are lock behind quests and unobtainable once a quest is done

I'm doing pretty much what I do before every launch: almost nothing. I haven't checked the PTS, haven't read patch notes, haven't read about new bugs features, except from comments here, haven't checked out the arcanist (still unsure if I'll make one, I don't have a lot of patience to grind levels) and, most importantly, I still have no idea what cool stuff that I simply must have is being added. This helps keep hype under control, though I'm excited to go back to Apocrypha (technically, returning there 1000 years before my first visit) and allows me to learn what's new by going to the new zones and seeing for myself.

Pretty much just going to make some gear to grind out XP with. Heartland, perhaps Hundings as well, all training and make a set for every 15 levels, perhaps? Can just go and switch it out then instead of having to switch to make a new set. Outside of that, not all too much, I sort of wing a characters story and theme on the go

I haven't bought the chapter yet, or made any preparations, except saving some intricates for deconstruction in the bank. I don't think I'll power-level my arcanists because I want to get more familiar with the skills and the crux system as I level them.
