Only during the Jubilee, since the rewards are actually worth it. I do all 7 writs on a full roster for the whole event (which is 18 characters now but will be 20 next year). The rest of the events, I do the bare minimum to get tickets, since 95% of the time the rewards aren't worth grinding for.

The only event I grind for boxes is the anniversary event.

For all other events, I exclusively focus on getting tickets. So I only get however many boxes I can get from doing the event for those tickets. Because really, only the anniversary event boxes have items worth grinding for. All other events tend to have little to nothing in them worthwhile.

I *passively* farm them. Just do my objectives and see what I get.

I only farm stuff if the drop rate is fair. Sometimes these events have awesome drop rates, and sometimes there is no drop rate. I don’t like wasting my time on that nonsense.

Yesterday I got a Tools of Domination page I didn't know I was missing, so I may end up grinding for any others that I haven't collected yet. Otherwise, I'll be splitting most of my time between farming sewer bosses and farming AP in Cyrodiil. I had a lit of fun in Cyrodiil last night on PC EU, and managed to get the weekly endeavor without meaning to, although I died a lot, too. Tonight it's PC NA's turn.

The results so far seem intriguing to me, since I was expecting to see more people who do grind for coffers. That expectation was based on the number of threads and posts in the past which have complained about grinding for coffers but not finding any-- or very few-- of the outfit style pages and other event-only items. I had gotten the impression that a lot of players grind for coffers, not just on their main character, but also on their alts.

I think I would probably grind for more coffers if my bank and inventory weren't so full already. I'll probably spend a few days cleaning them up, so I can do at least a little bit of grinding on my main.

Probably like me, I used to try to get as many as possible, but as many said the rewards aren’t worth the effort anymore.

I thinking the rewards are fairly decent-- but it really matters whether you're interested in them at all to begin with, and it can seem like the rewards are too skimpy for those who are interested in them but who can get more of them by other means.

For instance, this is a PvP event, so many of the rewards are PvP-themed, such as motifs, style mats, and currencies that are normally only obtainable by PvPing or questing in PvP zones (unless it's something that can be bought at guild traders from players who obtained it through PvP or in PvP zones). For instance, you can get Tel Var Stones in the event coffers, and it's possible to acquire a fair bit of Tel Var that way-- unless you're a veteran of the IC zone, in which case you'll probably see the amount of Tel Var in the event coffers as little better than peanuts.

In general, I find most reward coffers-- be they event coffers, Tales of Tribute coffers, or wharever-- to be reasonably rewarding but not excessively so, which hopefully encourages players to try to earn more of them, while also trying to prevent excessive farming to the extent that it's almost like an exploit or abuse.

The Mayhem rewards are actually the best - cold fire siege and tel var and other pvp stuff. I just wish the Cyrodiil coffers had the style pages. I farmed IC bosses last year for the pages but the drop rate was abysmally low and you got old style pages you already had as well. Not doing that this year.

See, I had actually forgotten that the new pages don't drop from the coffers, but instead drop from the IC bosses. I finally did remember that, but thank you for pointing it out. That means I can focus less on farming coffers and spend more time in the sewers farming the crossed-swords bosses. And since I really only need to find 2 of the new pages that way, given that I'll be able to buy the other 5 with tickets, it takes a lot of the pressure off.

Someone else reminded me, but I farmed those IC bosses last year and the drop rate for the new pages was almost non-existent so I’m skipping it this year.

If the pages are cheap enough in traders I’ll buy them, if not no big loss. I’m usually a completionist but once I missed one it doesn’t bother me as much anymore.

That pretty much sums it up for me, too. Something about missing 1 just releases all the pressure when you realize it wasn't as important as you were making it out to be.

But the anniversary event was bomb, i actually played the entire day to get as much boxes as possible haha

I haven't done that since the first Witch's festival. The very first one.

    My event strategy is this:
-Do tickets as many days as possible, use them for things that cannot be obtained any other way
-Close to the end of the event, go through Guild Stores to buy any reasonably-priced event-related items I did not receive in my ticket coffers.
-Don't worry about anything I missed, generally it will come back again

I do extra writs during the Anniversary event because I love opening those little yellow boxes.

You asked why not? Mainly because I have limited time to play. :)

No. The only thing that even remotely interests me in this game now is housing. I havent even ordered the new chapter. Will be playing a different game in june and cancelling eso plus for a while. Only houses that ever come out now are huge notables and thats getting stagnant and too expensive to furnish.

I voted wrongly. Whether I try to get many of the coffers or not will depend on if I want what the coffers contain.

For example, midyear mayhem coffers contain Telvar and a chance for hakijo, I like those things and so I want plenty of those coffers.

I generally grind just long enough to get any new goodies, and then go about my business. Most of the events in ESO quite simply are not fun anymore. That being said, I am going ham during Whitestrake's because I'm making the push to 5 star my main.

I grind coffers long enough to get whatever new things were added (e.g. gloam pages this event) and then that's enough of that. I've been farming WB's in IC for the last couple days, maybe 4 hours worth, got about 70k telvar, and think I only need one or two more of the new style pages to be done.

The only event I really go hardcore into making sure I get as many coffers as possible every day is the Anniversary event, mostly due to the large number of high end raw mats, patterns, and motifs that are rewarded from doing writs and dailies.

as i noted in an earlier post, it really depends on which event your talking about

the last jester event, the purple coffers were just awful, many of them just gave me 1 blue quality treasure item, and 10-20 of those useless consumable fireworks, that was all that was in the box in many cases

stuff like that makes for absolutely no incentive to even bother with them

but the pelinel boxes are fantastic, comparatively (ive already made at least 40k+ tel var and several hakeijo and like 8 style pages)
