I've found only about 4 motifs after launch, while during early access I've found about 8.

Yes, I've noticed that too, but cannot see why it would be an entirely bad thing.

I'm aware that it is a bit unfair to those who have not been there since early access, because players who come new to the game just now will probably have a much harder time acquiring any motifs at all.

But I, personally, found it ridiculous, that only after two weeks of playing I already had learned most of the "normal" racial motifs and only the rare ones to look forward to. Stuff like that should be harder in a game like this one.

I do not know, if they actually disappeared (which would be bad), but I can live with them being very, VERY rare.

Ill make sure to buy up all the remaining cheap motifs, lol. Thanks for the heads up.

I can partially agree that I would not mind grinding for motifs "years" but the fact that early veterans had access to it and now marketing is completely unfair. This is true for provisioning recipes too. If anyone find a purple vet 5 recipe please drop a line below. I found 1 before they nerfed it, now its impossible to get.

Yeah, I've noticed this too. As was mentioned, recipes suffered as well. Personally I am trying to collect as many recipes as I can. Since the end of April, I have spent a good 18 hours or so trying to get them. So far I have gotten a whopping total of 1....that's right. ONE.

From what I've noticed, it is a combination of reduced loot chance and the two systems of checking containers to see if they are empty. The first one is when you enter an area and a container either has loot or it is empty. The second one is when you loot a container and it turns up empty. This second system has increased dramatically since the patch. What used to be 1-2 per 50 looted containers is now 20-25 per 50. This in itself pretty much doubles the number of containers you need to loot to get anything good.

Seeing as there are about 1000 recipes in the game, it is going to take me quite a while to make any progress. I used to see about 3-5 motifs in the time it took me to find a blue or purple recipe. Now, I have no idea of the ratio but it is very very low.

They needed nerfed and rather badly. At least in the banks, if it could be isolated to nerfing those areas. I ran the bank in Auridon to get all of the racials for my Blacksmith.

I gave away 20 or more to my guildmates as these things were dropping from chests, backpacks, and shelves sometimes two at a time in a single pass. All over a week's time spending an hr each night.

I feel dirty about doing that kind of junk but I was fishing for a Bosmer Motif and when I only needed a Khajiit to have them all... I couldn't stop.

Lol so my 0 Motifs i have found since early access has now had its chance to find one reduced even further.

Well I dont think they changed anything. Its because people have now learned where to get such racial motifs that changed the game. The more the people knowing about where to get them the less chance of an individual getting a motif. The more people fishing in one spot, the less chance of you getting a fish. (Except in ESO, more people fishing in the same spot improves chance of getting a rare fish)

Odd I haven't had any for ages and got 5 yesterday in a short run around the Vet stuff in the AD starter isle.

Motifs still drop, but about 10x more rare as before.
Daedric motif also only drops in high veteran lvl zones I think.

I have gotten one of those as well. I am not even a provisioner. Purple alcoholic beverage recipe.

Over the past week or so I've levelled from VR2 to VR4 while obsessively opening every box, trunk, barrel, crate, cabinet, dresser, wardrobe, etc. Every time I go through town I open everything and I go through town every couple of hours to sort out my inventory. I have never found a motif in the VR zones whilst pre-50 I used to find them fairly frequently. I understand they need to keep them rare, but with the thousands of boxes I've opened if I found one now the drop rate would still be less than a tenth of a percent (less than 1/1000 boxes). This really is an unacceptable drop rate imo.

They were meant to be super rare from the beginning. Your race was supposed to MEAN SOMETHING.

Of course, they dropped the ball big time. At launch, I and everyone else serious about crafting learned all the nonrare styles in a day. Now the market is so saturated with books that you will be lucky anybody cares to buy them for more than pocket change. Something drastic had to be done.

I have Redguard. I never use it. I mostly use Imperial and Breton and occasionally Nord and Wood Elf.

I think the only normal one I don't have yet is High Elf.
