Bosmer have the worst passives in game, imo. They really need some love :(

I can't believe stealth reduction is a major breaking point still for Wood Elf players. Stealth has been bad for awhile, many ways to pull out a player from stealth.

Literally one pot in PVP would negate an entire racial passive if you still had it.

I think Wood Elves have great passives that actually help them. Stealth reduction literally helps them in no way except to appease the lore of Wood Elves.

Not a very practical passive to bring back IMO

I disagree that the old passive only favors PvE. As someone who tries to avoid conflict in PvP and only fight when I need to, the old stealth passive has helped me in many occasions where a mounted enemy that I didn’t see would run by in close proximity and I would manage to avoid confrontation, because of that passive. But after they changed it as soon as someone is close to me I am caught and immediately jumped by the rest of the enemy’s friends. Even my gameplay in Imperial City has been massively effected by these 2 meters of reduced stealth detection. If I went around a corner in Imperial City while stealthed and accidentally almost bumped into an enemy player, I would have more reaction time to move out of line of sight.
However, with this detection passive the gameplay style that it brings in PvP is to sprint into all the corners to find someone who may be hiding there and ambush them, which is not very stealth related or bosmer lore friendly at all, since bosmer are hunter types that try to stay out of sight to gank their pray, and not yolo into corners and act as a detection machine…

I also find it ironic that we need to constantly justify that all the bosmer's racial passives need to be viable in both PvP and PvE when we ask for this racial passive change, when Khajiit literally have a 5% increased pickpocket chance passive which’s literal only purpose is to serve the lore and only functions in PvE.

So Blackwood is coming. And still no woodelf stealth passive. Can we please get it back, the chapter features a woodelf so it’s the perfect opportunity to bring it back. ;) And no the new cp skill in the craft tree does not count.

Yeah, it’s just inexplicable, they really don’t understand the lore for wood elves for some reason.

It seems to be a trend with them, the previous patch was making so many slot passives in the green tree. And this patch it’s the 12 person limit for pve overland groups.

It’s not an eso quarterly update without a “What, why?” element to them.

It's sad that even with the penetration in CP cut in half, Bosmer are not going to be BiS for stam DPS even though that's probably one of the most valuable boni to have. But oh well, I never really cared about the balance part of racials as long as they were engaging and none where mandatory picks.

What I do care about is the lore accuracy though and that is still in shambles for Bosmer. No bow bonus? Okay, I get it, it would be unbalanced and unfair to people who want to be melee. No stealth bonus? Well maybe I wouldn't be so upset about not having a stealth bonus if what they got instead was actually useful. Detection is useless and takes up a set bonus in the budget calculation.
If every race had a separate budget for flavor passives that don't directly influence damage output (like speed, stealth, detection, specified resistances, cost reduction of combat actions that aren't skills), then nobody would have to be sad that their race got a "dead passive" and everyone could enjoy their flavor differences without feeling weaker for it.
But even then Bosmer would simply not be the way we know them from the other games and even ESO itself. They were the stealthy race together with Khajiit. Literally nobody wanted them to lose stealth. Damage from stealth? Sure, that was unhealthy for gankers. But not stealth stealth. But hey, ZOS "listens to feedback". ZOS is "communicating".
I remember when the devs admitted that they disliked listening to feedback that was presented in a bad way. Well, we've been giving good and constructive feedback for months until the mood got all bitter. Where were you ZOS? When have we reached the point where the frustration with your stubborness starts being acceptable, ZOS? But why am I complaining when you are not even listening to your own class reps - the people you don't pay for listening to feedback so you don't have to.

Your system of communication does not work as long as you only use your class reps to have them speak to you instead of allowing them to speak to us about these things as well. Let the class reps tell us why you don't want to give Bosmer their stealth back if we are not worthy of being graced with your presence in our threads. If we don't deserve Bosmer stealth (which btw we do), then we do deserve at least an answer.

This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

    Greetings,

As this thread was originally created in February 2021, we decided to close it down. In many cases, it's better to create a new thread on a topic that you want to discuss as opposed to bumping one that is rather old.

    Thank you for your understanding.
