Right now, 40+ bots farming in Coldharbour

ignoroticb14_ESO
Right now, as I type, there are at least 30, and maybe as many as 75 bots farming the moonless walk in coldharbour.

It just seems that they know it is very unlikely they will face bans, and they are really ramping up the farming. The don't try to hide or be subtle about it. There are at least 3 trains of 10-15 bots where I am, and I hear zone chat talking about other bot trains in the city and other parts of the zone. This is not even getting into bots camping boss spawns, etc.

We all tolerate not having an auction house or whatever, because we were told it would minimize gold farming and gold seller spam. In my experience however, this game has as many bots and spam as any mmo I've ever played.

Please try to increase your efforts to remove the bots and gold sellers.

I have to agree .. never seen anything like this in any game. Camping Bosses pisses me off the worst. Sometimes you need the boss for a quest and you cant even get in a hit on the boss for the quest..

I've said it before - after killing a boss once, a character should NOT RECEIVE any further XP or LOOT from that same boss. Quest advancement? Ok. But Loot and XP should be flagged to ZERO after that. This will eliminate your boss-camping.

I wouldn't say a person should get no loot ever after killing a boss, because there's no garauntee you'll get the blue drop that one time. I'd be fine with a timer, though -- If you kill the boss, you don't get any loot for some specified time.

But I have to agree with the OP. Seeing whole trains of bots at VR1 diminishes the accomplishment of reaching that level. I was looking forward to hitting VR1 -- I saw it as an accomplishment, like getting the Red Mage hat in FFXI. Now... after seeing a bot train of something like half a dozen VR1s... the lustre of that goal has been kinda tarnished.

Unfortunately, every attempt to make botting unfeasible WILL hurt players who are playing the game legit. There's no way around it. I'm hesitant to say 'so be it' because I know I'd be upset if I got caught in some 'escalated anti-bot measures' and I know that chance exists... but if there are ways to sort it out afterwards without leaving a mark on my record with the game, I'll bite the bullet and accept it. It's just gotten that bad.

The only effective way is hiring gm to catch bots mannuly. Btw, farming in cold harbour is really fruitful.

    I absolutely support this...

once they ensure that loot drops the first time I kill a boss every time.

We already have enough problems with players that like to farm legitimately getting shafted by recent updates, and now you want ZeniMax to even further diminish loot and XP to the point where you receive nothing at all on your second kill for a boss?

No offense, but you're only propelling the RMT business in-game by doing something as ridiculous and sucidal as that to your game.

Not allowing legitimate players to farm defeats the purpose of what the game is supposed to be "F U N"

    Using bots = no no
Manually farm, eat your heart out!

Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

The bold part is a connection that simply doesn't exist. I can't take anyone serious who drags this tired old argument out.

The best solution is to drop the hammer hard. Start banning accounts, Bad names associated with accounts, and hire GMs specifically to root out the bots.

Personally, I would also like zenimax to start banning people who buy gold from these sites. If there were no market for selling gold, the bots would vanish.

I agree the bots must be dealt with, but, DO NOT let it hurt normal players, like that loot drop rate nerf with the containers.

Much better if GMs sat and manually found and banned the bot accounts.

Moonless Walk, Vile Laboratory are two areas that area riddled with the farm bot plague. As is most of the delves.

I think the reason you see so many bots is the megaserver it self. Instead of them being spread of many servers they are all on one and depending on how many people are in the zone and your friends list/guild you will see more or less.

And then they move to dungeons, what then? Stop dropping loot in dungeons also? No reason to redo a dungeon? Does not work!

There is only one way to fix the problem
1- Zenimax do daily bans of multicomp setups/bots!
2- Players STOP buying gold! No market = reason to farm!

It doesn't take rocket science to tell a bot from an actual player as most bots use names like dsfgjksj although some are getting smarter. If any real player uses names like this to farm, they have no common sense and are risking a ban eventually. Thing is, it can't be that difficult for a GM to step in and bring the hammer down on these lvl 3 no names stealing all our loot and resources. Really tired of getting nothing but empty containers as well due to the nerf, even in new areas I have never been to before.
