Necromancer vs Arcanist

The necromancer, thanks to his wretched totem, gives a minor protector.
The arcanist gives a minor protector + a bunch of buffs.

BALANCE.

If you remove the first ult from the necro, then there is no point in the necromancer.

    It's simple.
    Arcanist Pay 2 Win class.
    Necromancer Pay 2 Pain class.

Do not worry, the Arcanist will get nerfed, a lot of the abilities are borderline broken in PvE, now in PvP the class is not as effective as some might assume, allow me to explin..

Due to the Crux mechanic your required to fill your bar with mostly Arcanist skills, this has a problem in that the Arcanist's main DPS ability does not lock onto a target, that being Fatecarver, Runeblades may lock on but the damage for this ability is really low, now since Fatecarver does not lock on to a target good luck hitting your opponent, you will fail to hit them and get interrupted and killed, their only saving grace in PvP is that they can portal away, downside is their portal has a 6 second cooldown between uses though, someone with Streak or Mist Form is going to catch you unless you get onto a ledge.

You don't need to fill your bar. You need one crux generator and one crux spender. That's it. After that it's trying to keep enough magicka and stamina around to spend it.

The reason it's tempting to put all those arcanist skills on your bar is because they're neat.

Well if you only want to slot 2 class abilities on your bar you might as well play a different class.

They nerfed templars healing ability when warden came out. There is a history of this kind of stuff.

I think Arcanist Healing and Tanking stuff will get nerfed, and its DPS will get buffed. It seems like it's very weighted towards being super strong for support, but pretty weak for damage at the moment. Hopefully they can meet in the middle so it's balanced.

same thoughts - with what used together yesterday - strong shield, insane self heal. even damage was better than than necro, close behind warden and far behind nightblade.

that for solo pve - elden hollow as it is close to shrine

Hey now... I once saw a necromancer solo a mudcrab with NO blastbones! It was inspiring.

Necromancer has so many useless skill no self buffs yet every other class gets a million useful op skills. Arcanist won't be nerfed until a couple years down the road when its time to sell the next one.

Arcanist, necro, sorcerer, DK, NB, warden all have passives that depend on the number and/or type of class abilities on the bar. Nothing new there.

Doesn't Necro have more synergizes then most classes?

Nope. Necro has 2 synergizes as any other class, only Templars has 3.
There is no side in the game where Necro is better than other class.Except that in the ranking of the worst classes, where Necromancer takes an honorable first place.

As much as I have been on this forum crying about dark convergence ever since that abomination was created, I would have been okay with it as an ultimate (I've said that). Now it's a skill. At least you still have to spend resources, I guess. But a multi-target pull better be expensive as hell. And if any class needed that, it was the necromancer. Again, I don't like it not being an ultimate though.

necro has no hope for pvp this patch. There is a long list of issues and its surprising that the choice they made to throw it a bone was to buff the skull. Ill never understand the balance choices. Like sometimes things look good on paper but perform terribly in game. But even comparing the class side by side with others you can see issues. Idk how it gets by them.

Just one small thing could change necro so much, just put a dot as the secondary effect of the magicka morph.

Necros have a uniqe concept of staying your ground and being toxic in the area.

We can see that with spells like totem, drains that ties you to the ground and follows you, and the corpses that necros have to use, placed where they are slain.

Only problem that it doesnt work. Necros have no way of forcing fights on they ground. Peeople will run out of colossus aoe, totem aoe, graveyard aoe, they will keep distant from you and your drains, and you have nothing in your class kit to deal with that. Grave grasp is clunky and cost like 5000 mana. Totem is a big red no-no zone with a 2s delay. Glacial colosus stuns on third hit, good luck hitting peeolpe with 2 hits at least.

ZOS, necros are in dire need of reworks, class simply doesnt function as its supposed to.

That was originally the templar concept, ZOS referred to it as the templar "house".
