There are not enough tickets available to get everything, and it's not possible to get all 10 costume fragments with only 8 gold boxes in the entire event, even if you are lucky enough to get one fragment per day. Those who are unlucky and get zero fragments will have to spend 30 tickets to get the costume, and only 24 are available from the event... with the last day's tickets only available in a 4 hour window for some people... and assuming no maintenance on the last day, as usual. And that also means no tickets for the bucket helmet, the broom weapon, or any of the fragments for the pet or the personality. But, you can buy as many tickets in the crown store as you like.

And with demand being greater than supply you can also expect profiteers to buy up all the low priced fragments and reselling them for exorbitant amounts.

ZOS has always made it so you could at least earn enough tickets to get everything, combined with the possibility of getting everything with drops. Creating a built in supply shortage is a new business model for them, and rather concerning going forward.

Most people should have at least 10 tickets saved up from previous events too. No doubt we can get those drops from the non gold boxes as well, but the drama of a cool down will no doubt be there - so only 1 per day regardless.

Gold boxes only, and those will also be itemized with several old drops from previous Jester's Festivals to water down the odds as well. And most people who've saved up 10 tickets will be buying the new Muse Personality fragment, I would think. Or maybe the bucket style page, or the broom style page, or the Hide Shoulder collectible.

Just handing them out would certainly be a punch in the face to anyone who spent countless hours and huge amounts of money to gather/buy them.
So that's a no-no from me. After being absent for a year, it took me almost another year to afford the missing motifs.

For many events they say "Gold Box Only" or have the info vague that implies it for the pages, but they still end up in the other boxes as well, just a bit rarer usually. I see it as I farm the events across several chars/accounts. I expect the Bucket & Broom at least, to end up in the normal boxes.

They were pretty specific in the announcement about what was in the purple boxes as well as the gold boxes. And I just realized that they released TWO ten ticket fragments for the Muse personality with this event, so even more things to buy with limited tickets.

So is that the event format then - start with no tickets at all to condition players to play the event, then introduce tickets but keep everything available within the event, then add tickets to the crown store and finally make it so the now conditioned players have to pay for a solution since they cannot mathematically achieve goodies through the event?

And I thought farming was a painful grind playing in-game - what a grind for those poor marketing people.

oh, and definitely add motifs to the anniversary boxes, please.

I think it's pretty good that older stuff is still available, though: great for newer players trying to catch up.

Really hope the worm cult motif has a higher drop chance, too, during anniversary event to get that achievement done.

And whole books - like the OP's requested ancestral motifs.

Well, I called that one. People are offering 500k per fragment in zone chat, and selling for 1 million each on guild traders.

It's always this way day 1 of event. Always. Every event. Even for things that eventually become basically worthless.

It's the same the day a new motif drops.

It's the same for furnishing plans the day a new loot table is introduced.

I understand that, except this event is different in that the supply of fragments for the costume is smaller than the demand. I can guarantee you that prices will not go down by the end of this event, because literally no one will have any extras.

There have been other events like this in the past with regards to the drops. Most of the time by the end there are enough for those that are absolute "first event" completionists that they get them done. Next year, they'll be in the 2 ticket grab bags and everybody else gets them done.

They are rarer, people complain. They drop too often, people complain.

ZOS has always made it so you could at least earn enough tickets to get everything, combined with the possibility of getting everything with drops. Creating a built in supply shortage is a new business model for them, and rather concerning going forward.

Whether or not that's successful will depend on the drop rate. They may make the drop rate pretty generous so that the tradeable missing items can be obtained relatively cheaply. We'll know for sure as the days go by.

The drop rate is set at a maximum (and not guaranteed) of 1 per day per account, for a possible 8 days. And the costume takes 10 fragments to combine. And there are plenty of people commenting in game that they didn't get a scrap from the first gold box.

I got one in my gold box, and I bought one that I found reasonably priced on a trader. I surfed traders for hours today, and most fragments were listed between 300k and 2 million gold each. And people were selling sets of 10 fragments (which they bought at a cheaper price) for 10 to 20 million for the set.

Players will not necessarily have 10 tickets saved up from prior events. Some of the events awarded part of the tickets via DLC areas so if you do not have ESO+ or have not bought the DLC you receive only half the tickets. I'm in that situation. I don't care about the personality so under normal circumstances I would have replaced the pet fragments and come into the next event with a high number of tickets. However instead I came in with eight and still need two pet fragments (well one now that I bought another). That doesn't leave enough tickets to buy the costume fragments assuming I hit the lottery and find one in a box each day of the event.

I don't recall them EVER saying you could get enough tickets for EVERYTHING.
You can always get enough tickets for the fragments for the 'special' item that morphs, that was the only guarantee.
And yes, its a bit of a push to get you to buy extra tickets in the crown store but its a BUSINESS!
So much whining.....everyone wants everything, all the time.
It's an event, you have to choose what you want the most and go for it, or work at getting the gold to buy it from other players. All the events have been like this in one way or another, and I've been playing since the beginning.
