I'm still waiting to see how they will monetize the Anniversary event like they are doing with the Jester's Festival.

There are not enough tickets available to get everything, and it's not possible to get all 10 costume fragments with only 8 gold boxes in the entire event, even if you are lucky enough to get one fragment per day. Those who are unlucky and get zero fragments will have to spend 30 tickets to get the costume, and only 24 are available from the event... with the last day's tickets only available in a 4 hour window for some people... and assuming no maintenance on the last day, as usual. And that also means no tickets for the bucket helmet, the broom weapon, or any of the fragments for the pet or the personality. But, you can buy as many tickets in the crown store as you like.

Most people should have at least 10 tickets saved up from previous events too. No doubt we can get those drops from the non gold boxes as well, but the drama of a cool down will no doubt be there - so only 1 per day regardless.

Gold boxes only, and those will also be itemized with several old drops from previous Jester's Festivals to water down the odds as well. And most people who've saved up 10 tickets will be buying the new Muse Personality fragment, I would think. Or maybe the bucket style page, or the broom style page, or the Hide Shoulder collectible.

For many events they say "Gold Box Only" or have the info vague that implies it for the pages, but they still end up in the other boxes as well, just a bit rarer usually. I see it as I farm the events across several chars/accounts. I expect the Bucket & Broom at least, to end up in the normal boxes.

They were pretty specific in the announcement about what was in the purple boxes as well as the gold boxes. And I just realized that they released TWO ten ticket fragments for the Muse personality with this event, so even more things to buy with limited tickets.

And with demand being greater than supply you can also expect profiteers to buy up all the low priced fragments and reselling them for exorbitant amounts.

Well, I called that one. People are offering 500k per fragment in zone chat, and selling for 1 million each on guild traders.
RIP.

It's always this way day 1 of event. Always. Every event. Even for things that eventually become basically worthless.
It's the same the day a new motif drops.
It's the same for furnishing plans the day a new loot table is introduced.

I understand that, except this event is different in that the supply of fragments for the costume is smaller than the demand. I can guarantee you that prices will not go down by the end of this event, because literally no one will have any extras.

ZOS has always made it so you could at least earn enough tickets to get everything, combined with the possibility of getting everything with drops. Creating a built in supply shortage is a new business model for them, and rather concerning going forward.

Whether or not that's successful will depend on the drop rate. They may make the drop rate pretty generous so that the tradeable missing items can be obtained relatively cheaply. We'll know for sure as the days go by.

Just handing them out would certainly be a punch in the face to anyone who spent countless hours and huge amounts of money to gather/buy them.
So that's a no-no from me. After being absent for a year, it took me almost another year to afford the missing motifs.
Rare items should be and stay rare.

They are rarer, people complain. They drop too often, people complain.
