It's a reminder to everyone who wants things added to the game or changed within it to be careful what they wish for. Even those who get what they want rarely like the way it is implemented. Skill points for alts, achievements for alts, now hide shoulders, all examples that should be borne in mind when putting forward other suggestions.

That would apply if they just deleted shoulder pieces — that would be more equivalent to AWA. I don’t get complaining about a truly optional option. And it’s not in crates and doesn’t cost Crowns and isn’t LTO. Yet still people complain…

And... I am not even trying to be funny. It seems like this is the case. How many players wanted Arcanist class ? And how many players wanted the ability to "hide shoulders" ? Yeah...

Why is HIDE SHOULDERS a limited time event ticket unlock? Like the night/day hourglass? [Which I missed because I uninstalled for like six months].
These should be default standard options we should have, and not have to grind for or potentially miss.
All these stupid routes and monetization practices in this game have me livid.
We should just HAVE these.
Like whoever thought it was a cool and quirky idea to take the updated retextures for the base race motifs and turn them in to antiquity findables, leaving the old resolution motifs in the game.
I have some very awful words for you that I cannot say here.
It's not a limited time thing.
It will start being available at the Impresario with the Jester's Festival. Once the Jester's Fest is over, her assistant will have it in perpetuity. It's like the Firepot spider we got last year, the event ticket thing for that was available at her assistant forevermore, and as long as you had tickets you could buy it even outside of events.
Also coming in the next patch: a buyable version of the hourglass. That one is Tribunal themed and will be available in the Crown Store, and I believe it will also be available from Rolis Hlaalu - or at least it is on PTS.
This doesn't help because the point is still there: ZOS are being greedy. A basic option that should just be freely available or even in the base game back when the game first was released should NEVER be put behind a wall.
(Though, this is assuming that it is 30 event tickets like other highly requested features. If it ends up being like 2-5 tickets, then I guess it'll be a bit more alright).

They are making it so players get stuff with tickets, so that you play the game more.
I'm not fussed. 5 tickets or even 30 is really nothing. I'm not interested in this year's morphisms, and the next couple of indriks I want are later in the year. So every account both PC megaservers gets it's shoulder hider.
I don't remember seeing a statement about this - did anyone know if they're account-wide once purchased?

It's weird that it's not easily available until after an event, but do not worry about spending event tickets on it.
Hi All, just to clarify here. The hide shoulders will be available during Jester's Festival. They were not available during PTS, but will be when the event is Live. The hide shoulders will not be available for gold. We noted the following in the patch notes for Week one PTS: "After Jesters Festival ends, the Hide Shoulder collectible will be on her assistant, Philius Dormier, forever more!"
However, the shoulders will still be purchasable with event tickets year round at this vendor, not with gold.

@ZOS_Kevin Can you directly speak to why it's not just a base game feature like hide head?
Thanks! I've been dealing with 6 - 8 feet of snow, so haven't really paid a lot of attention....
I think that the frustration with this is a bit silly. It isn't costing anyone any additional money. It's only 5 tickets. That's only 2-3 days of any event of your choosing.
Besides, I know that there's been plenty of people complaining about there being too many events and not enough rewards being worth the tickets. To me it seems like they're just killing 2 birds with one stone.

That is probably what they are thinking, too. However, I would much rather spend Event Tickets on something that is actually a reward. I consider "Hide ______" to be entirely base game. You buy the game and can use it. Immediately available to all players.
Making it something to spend Event Tickets on strikes me as a poor use of Event Tickets.

I suspect it’s a way to see how widely desired it is among the player-base as a whole as a guide for future development. I thought it unusual to be available for event tickets too, but I know I’m going to easily have extra a few events from now, so it’s nothing to complain about.

They haven't announced what is going on with Event Tickets this year. They love their secrecy, but I am not having anything to do with that this year. They know what they are doing, but don't want to tell us. I don't see a reason to play that game. My participation in events is restricted, and when I hit 12 tickets, they just roll into the gutter.
Bottom line is that they are using a currency that does not interest me to sell a feature that should not require a currency.

I am confused. I am basing it on previous years, and that, with the acquisition of the Dawnwood indrik, I’ll have all past event morph items that I wanted, and the expectation that I won’t want EVERY new morph this year. On that last, I’ll be happy to be wrong and will just choose what I want now and what I want during New Life. These assumptions seem reasonable to me.
And if your tickets go “into the gutter,” why not spend five on hide shoulders? Am I misunderstanding you or just missing your point?
