In certain quarters, i.e. the usual forums and YT channels yes, but I see no evidence of that in the game. Isn't it strange how those who are quick to point to any decline in the Steam charts haven't yet seen fit to mention the 10%+ increase in those charts over the last month?

Heck, I've played some games that will give out a little extra reward to their subscribers during 7 day freebies just to say thanks- things like EXP scrolls, pets, or an outfit.
These rewards are usually nothing major, but they incentivize people who are enjoying the benefits of the 7 Day free sub to sub for at least another month, so that they can get the shiny things too.
I'm not going to fight tooth and claw for it, but hey, who doesn't like free stuff?

Why not be happy with that ?
I would be happy if they would once again give a crown crate for every free trial day to everyone who have sub active during that time. it was a nice little thing they did in the past and they stopped to do.

I was about to say myself that they used to give gifts to ESO+ subscribers when they did these.
I seem to remember crown crates being one of those gifts.
Maybe they should bring the gifting back especially has their will be no more dlc zones in future.

Aren't there free figurines only for ESOplus subscribers every time they do a free trial week? Pretty sure I saw one yesterday in the crown store. 🤔
And there are definitely special deals for subscribers, every free trial week....
I think the notion of subscribers being ripped off by ZOS or not treated respectfully with a free trial week lacks factual basis.
Personally, I like free trial week. Trying out the dungeons, deciding wether to buy or pass on a DLC. It's worth a lot to me. And the free craft bag for one week helps a lot of players.
Especially those who sell crafting mats. 🤑

Because subscriptions are generally paid to ensure we have good server performance, quick bugfixes, and a responsive support team...

@ArchangelIsraphel
I would not fight against a free week, but wonder what major titles that have subscriptions give out a free week when they do a free trial? I have not seen or noticed this.
ZOS used to do this in 2014, when a subscription was required to play the game and it was frequently offline for long periods of time (longer and more often than the current maintenance). Apparently it then caused problems for some people because it shifted the renewal date which meant they had the payment going out at an unexpected time and it clashed with other payments or didn't fit when money went into the account.

I don't think that's why ZOS stopped doing it (from what I remember it was either when maintenance got to be less frequent and quicker to complete or when they switched to buy-to-play with an optional subscription). But I think if they started it up again they'd get similar objections. There's never going to be a system which everyone likes.
