@WiseSky If it's purely intended as an addon rather than as a base game change then I have no concerns over it as although I'm on PC I have no interest in any addons so it wouldn't affect me, provided it didn't add to performance issues. If it was proposed as a base game change then I would certainly not support it as I consider it unnecessary with more important things for the developers to work on.
Apologies for the delay in editing my last comment, I got called away unfortunately and then tried to clarify my position just as you were seeking to clarify yours!

This will be a totally optional step for people, to use and would not be apart of the base game, I would love it to be apart of the base game, but am in no way asking the devs to do something if I can do it myself
Glad we are able to understand each other...but I still dont understand that some people dont Use AddOns, doing writs on 18 chars without addon = is hell.

I already got rid of the "find 'em" addons (lore books, skyshards etc) because nearly 3 years in, the only places I can't remember are the ones I haven't been to yet (new content). I pick up a quest, I know exactly where I need to go; I know where any chests will be on the route, where the skyshards are, which wayshrines that alt hasn't got that I can pick up.
And where the mobs are. So I don't have to kill my way across zones.
Wow that is quite amazing to have done all the zones and know everything by heart !!!
I do think this would benefit only new players or those that don't have that of an amazing memory
Zenimax Online isn't going to put this in the game at this stage in its development given the huge amount of work (and near zero payout) it would have, thus it's not going to be developed for use by all players. Not sure what else there is to explain. Not interested in something that won't ever happen. No point in developing false hope.
Ever play a texted based adventure? ' you're in a room there is a plain door to the west and a ornate door to the east which way do you want to go? ' hmm.. think I will choose W. Yes finding your way through a door could lead you to a monster. The original quest said it was west of here. I am fine with what we have currently. I think Zos does a great job of leading us along.

Yes, I think for new players it would be of value. When I was a new player, what I did was take my first couple of characters through every zone - so I would know where everything was. That's how I've played games forever - find where stuff is before starting to quest.... (except in WoW where you could very easily in the vanilla game wind up crossing a border and getting one-shot instantly). While I was doing that, I was gathering every node in my path, every skyshard I could find, picking up all the wayshrines, etc.
I've always had that sort of mind for data - and games are just another form of that. I remember phone numbers from 30 years ago when I was office manager for a company in Vegas, stuff like that. Of course, some days I can't remember what I had planned to do that day....
Sounds like fun. I would be happy to help in some way. I am looking to get into modding so this might be a good place to start.
