@WiseSky If it's purely intended as an addon rather than as a base game change then I have no concerns over it as although I'm on PC I have no interest in any addons so it wouldn't affect me, provided it didn't add to performance issues. If it was proposed as a base game change then I would certainly not support it as I consider it unnecessary with more important things for the developers to work on.

Apologies for the delay in editing my last comment, I got called away unfortunately and then tried to clarify my position just as you were seeking to clarify yours!

This will be a totally optional step for people, to use and would not be apart of the base game, I would love it to be apart of the base game, but am in no way asking the devs to do something if I can do it myself :D

Glad we are able to understand each other...but I still dont understand that some people dont Use AddOns, doing writs on 18 chars without addon = is hell.

I have no interest in writs or other daily chores, I do the odd one now and then but my preference is to play the game rather than go to work  ! I have no need of addons and consider that their complete absence from my machines is probably a significant part of my having had virtually no significant performance issues since PC launch (I know that not doing PvP or Trials is another part!). I don't use mods in other TES games and have had no crashes or other issues with them either.

This will never be developed for all players. Hard no.

What do you mean Developed for all players?

Zenimax Online isn't going to put this in the game at this stage in its development given the huge amount of work (and near zero payout) it would have, thus it's not going to be developed for use by all players. Not sure what else there is to explain. Not interested in something that won't ever happen. No point in developing false hope.

Actually now that I think further about it.... I really don't need anything like this. I already got rid of the "find 'em" addons (lore books, skyshards etc) because nearly 3 years in, the only places I can't remember are the ones I haven't been to yet (new content). I pick up a quest, I know exactly where I need to go; I know where any chests will be on the route, where the skyshards are, which wayshrines that alt hasn't got that I can pick up.

And where the mobs are. So I don't have to kill my way across zones.

Wow that is quite amazing to have done all the zones and know everything by heart !!!

I do think this would benefit only new players or those that don't have that of an amazing memory

Yes, I think for new players it would be of value. When I was a new player, what I did was take my first couple of characters through every zone - so I would know where everything was. That's how I've played games forever - find where stuff is before starting to quest.... (except in WoW where you could very easily in the vanilla game wind up crossing a border and getting one-shot instantly). While I was doing that, I was gathering every node in my path, every skyshard I could find, picking up all the wayshrines, etc.

I've always had that sort of mind for data - and games are just another form of that. I remember phone numbers from 30 years ago when I was office manager for a company in Vegas, stuff like that. Of course, some days I can't remember what I had planned to do that day....

    @Starlock

This would be an AddOn and online Reading Material accessible to players. MicroZos has nothing to do with it.
It will be created by community that want to part take. I am not asking the Devs to do anything, since they already provided the tools for it to be possible.

Ever play a texted based adventure? ' you're in a room there is a plain door to the west and a ornate door to the east which way do you want to go? ' hmm.. think I will choose W. Yes finding your way through a door could lead you to a monster. The original quest said it was west of here. I am fine with what we have currently. I think Zos does a great job of leading us along.

I never played a chose your own adventure text based game or read a book. But I did see a couple of Series based on it and it looks fun. I would say I am also just "fine" with what we have currently having to follow the compass and world map for the pins.

But I cannot agree that Zos did a great job of leading us along, they just expect all the quests to be solved by following the compass or world map. Which in my opinion, removes all the sense of exploration that someone can have.

Well we just finished our first 2 island with the Immersive Quests Addon

It's been a long time but it's finally started to see the light of day!

Sounds like fun. I would be happy to help in some way. I am looking to get into modding so this might be a good place to start.

If it's optional, sure. Otherwise, no. It sounds good in theory, but having played games in the day when there were no in-game maps and you had to use graph paper to map as you went, I can say with confidence that stumbling around trying to find the NPC or delve or whatever is not as fun and exciting as it sounds.

I like things the way they are now except for when I'm in a town in the zone where the next quest step is located, I go to a wayshrine, and the quest marker on the map points to an exit from the town. That's completely useless.

It wasn't always this way. Before someone made the decision to change it, the quest marker would show the actual next quest step location. But now it works as if I'm going to ride or run to the next quest step, rather than travel by wayshrine. So it shows me which exit to take from town. As I said, useless.

Please change it back to how it was before. Assume that most players will be using wayshrines.

Yes. The longer and more in-depth a quest is the more I enjoy it. "Go fetch" quests are, or can be, lazy and boring, even to me.

I'm fine with it the way it is and have gotten used to it so its not an issue for me at all. If there is something optional for people who don't enjoy the current setup then that's fine.

    Greetings,

We have closed this topic as it was originally created in March 2021. In many cases, it's better to create a new thread on a topic that you want to discuss as opposed to bumping one that is rather old.

    Thank you for your understanding.
