Agreed, and the key word here is "option". Some players would enjoy the larger tattoos and some the smaller.I suggest an customization option to change body marking colors like tattoos, kahjiit patterns, and others. Also more variety of those would be nice too.

It would also be nice if we could combine body and face scars with tattoos.

There’s a cool back tattoo of wings 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah, I'd say this is definitely one of the weirdest ones they have created. Like I could understand an Imperial having some Red Diamond themed body markings.... but stained glass-like tattoos/warpaint? It really makes no sense. It's also funny that they released it AND an actual stained glass Red Diamond window furnishing haha it's like what, did they just use the concept art for it and convert it into body markings? xDNotaDaedraWorshipper wrote: »Lately tattoos and body markings has been badly textured (such as Knights of St. Pelin which looks badly cut out around the edges), obnoxious, and/or just downright weird, like the Red Diamond Body Stainwork for example.

Seriously, what is this?
Just look at the current crate season and ones rewarded from Legacy of Breton content. Strange overly saturated patterns and very niché designs.
As usual, where is the more lore friendly and subtle markings? Why don't we have markings like the ones dunmer had in Morrowind and other racial/culture fitting ones? The Nibenese imperials are told in lore to be known for garish tattoos and brandings, among many other things.
Or just common tattoo themes, like sailor ones. When we finally got a pirate/sailor themed ones they have weird choices of motifs and are all perfectly symmetrical.
Why are all body markings symmetrical nowadays and follow the same pattern over the whole body?
I'd love to see more varied tattoos, brandings, paints and other markings which are asymmetrical or just on a part of the body. Only on arms, maybe on just one arm, only on the back etc.
More cultural ones that feel immersive (So no Red Diamond stainwork!)
- TES3: Morrowind themed dunmer markings.
- Maybe pierced or ash themed markings for orcs. Always felt it suiting for them to make body and face paints out of ash or coal for Malacath.
- Imperials would likely have some that varies between Nibenese and Colovians, but also have some in common. Such as Nibenese would have garish and elaborate ones for just aestethics, but also magic or philosophy themed. Colovians might have simpler ones, especially military themed, and both could have religious ones.
- There's not a single bosmer marking of what I can recall. Most nature, Y'ffre or such themed markings are generic, or to druids, Wyrd, etc, not bosmer.
- Also, more scars. It's impossible to make a heavily scarred character, unless you want burn scars. The ones we have don't look natural either. It's all symmetrical again with one there on the arm, on the opposite arm etc or weirdly placed randomly but evenly spread out. They are not where scars are most likely to be and from natural looking wounds and attacks.
The list goes on.

What a lot of players don't get is that tattoos in ESO are swapped out body textures, not decals like the earrings for example.
They have to be, because movement and the animation of skills would distort them otherwise.
🤓
So changing or recoloring existing tattoos is sadly impossible. 😕

This touches on something I am REALLY passionate about. And it goes for not only the tattoos, but practically everything in the crown store.
I'm not opposed to the crown store, but PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF THE DIVINES:
START WITH THE LORE, for inspiration.
PLEASE STOP throwing random soulless whatever and forcing the lore to fit it.
