Grand Repair Kits from Writs
On one of my crafters, I receive Grand Repair Kits from daily writs. On my others, I get Petty. This made me wonder.
What are the minimum unlocks required in the crafting tree to ensure Grand Repair Kits when turning in writs?
I could figure it out with process of elimination, but there are so many unlocks in that tree that it would take a while. Does anyone know the answer to this? I'm actually really curious. I can't find it documented anywhere.

✭✭✭✭✭The repair kit is scaled to the level of the gear that is requested for the writ.
If you're doing tier-1 writs, crafting level 1 jute/maple/iron gear, you'll get repair kits for level 1 gear.
If you want grand repair kits (level 50+), you must be doing writs at any of the tiers where you're crafting CP-level items.Nightfighters ― PC/NA and PC/EU

Ooof. So basically, in the crafting tree for woodworking, blacksmithing, and clothing, I need the first item in the tree unlocked to level 10.
Thirty skill points is a lot to devote to grand repair kits.

Not necessarily. Rank 6 writs require CP10 gear and will yield grand repair kits the same as Rank 10. For most people, max rank is preferred for the chance at Master Writ drops and to maximize the chances of getting golden upgrade mats, but if skill points are scarce, an intermediate level can be used.Nightfighters ― PC/NA and PC/EU

✭✭It's easier to maintain a supply of mats for max level crafting though, and I usually don't recommend stopping at the intermediate levels for long.
In the short term, the repair kits are pretty cheap at guild traders if you just want to keep your characters stocked.0
