I CANNOT AGREE MORE EMPHATICALLY WITHOUT THE USE OF VOLUNTARY COPIOUS BOUTS OF EXPLETIVES WITH MY FACE CONTRACTING LIKE I'M HAVING A TOURETTE EPISODE.

Please for the sanctity of my keyboard, mouse and headset (which might suffer self inflicted rage damage) disable the extra quick slot wheels in PvP areas. Or at leas give us the option to.

As mentioned above, you can unbind the key to swap quickslot wheels. Functionally this is the same as disabling the extra wheels since you will be locked into the original wheel.

Quickslot wheels should 1) have any slot take any quickslottable thing and 2) you should not be able to switch to an empty wheel when not doing slotting/unslotting fiddling.

Isn’t the first ring open to slot anything? Just use the front wheel and treat it like the old system?

    What am I missing here?

I only use one quickslot wheel and I only have one item in it, my restoration potions. Several times now in the middle of combat I've had it switch wheels on me and there is nothing I can do to get it set back short of getting out of combat, removing my potions and adding them back again.

I have no interest in changing wheels to change my companion or to do emotes or other things I don't care about. These are not helpful to me at all and have caused me to die several times now.

Please give us a toggle to disable the quickslot wheels we don't want to use.

It doesnt switch wheels.. you only have 1 quikslot wheel "the quickslot wheel" where items can be selected and used via your quickslot button, the other wheels are instant use upon selection and dont affect the quickslot button selection.

The thing is I am not selecting anything. It just sometimes opens and moves around when I am in combat and then I can't use the one item I have slotted.

But thanks to this I may be able to get these out of my face now:

Thank you @stanger_than! This is the first thing I will do when I log in today! <3

I unbound mine a few weeks ago and yesterday, during a fight, I found myself cycling between the wheels. I will need to check that the feature didn't become bound again.

I use most items in the main wheel like before the update, but I use back wheels for less used items like tools and emotes. The main wheel I have my current follower, banker, pot, buff food etc (same as always). I like the current system.

the problem is that, when ZOS implemented, someone made the unfortunate decision to bind the key to rotate between quickslot wheels to mouse left/right (hold Q then click LMB or RMB)...

i can only assume that they just didn't think it through or test it very much, because it is quickly evident that it's very possible to accidentally trigger this IN MID-COMBAT when you happen to be quaffing a potion while mashing mouse buttons...

This is exactly what is happening because it always occurs in combat and probably when I hit "Q" to drink my rejuvenation potion.

One thing I noticed is I have to unbind these hot keys on each character individually.

There is an addon called Votan's keybinder that will fix this for you. I know lots of people have suggestions for "must have" addons but I personally think this is the only TRUE must have if you plan to ever play more than one toon.

When you set a keybind just make sure the little checkbox to the left is checked and it will be automatically set for each toon when you log on to them.

The wheel cycle right/left mouse did indeed become bound again somehow. I know for certain that it was previously unbound because this occurred on my main character that I play the most and I took a screenshot to remember the setting. I unbound them again.

The op does not wish to be bothered by additional slots, it seems, meanwhile you are upset you don’t have enough.

I was simply pointing out that a player need not use the extra slots if they don’t wish to…

But the other wheels can't be selected for quick use, you have to open the wheel, switch to the one you want and it goes off but after that, the wheel will reset immediatly to the default one.

I don't see where does your issue lie @SilverBride if you accidentaly switch to another wheel just release the quickslot button and you're back on the default wheel, even with the potion you selected beforehand selected.

I don't use them. The problem is these empty Quickslot Wheels keep opening in the middle of combat and prevent me from using my slotted rejuvenation potions. But I removed the keybinds and so far it hasn't happened since.

Quickslots are great for when you are going to select one thing, out of combat, and stay with it for a while. They can be awful when you have to use them in a combat situation.

I only use one wheel. And the Wheel categories are not helpful to organizing things, especially as we can't override them.

    1. Let us disable the other wheels
    2. Let us put whatever on the extra wheels as we see fit. We know what categories and things we need on each wheel if we use them..
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I can't speak for the OP's specific issue but for me the issue is that it can take a variable amount of time for the wheel to open and a variable amount of time to confirm my selection and close. This is hard to deal with in a heated situation where precision is important and plans change very rapidly. Sometimes I end up needing to block or move or whatever and the wheel hasn't yet confirmed my selection (just like sometimes I can smash the quaf potion button repeatedly and it never registers). Lag is likely a part of the culprit here and there is plenty of the to go around in Cyrodiil.

Letting up on the quickwheel and bringing it up again always brings up the first one for me.

Lag, skills misfires whatever you want to call it is what I believe is causing the OP's problem of having the wheels change unexpectedly. I too am only a single wheel user so after reading this thread will try the remap of the mouse buttons next time I get on to play.

I do not understand why ZOS doesn't make more things "character wide" in the settings. Addons can do that, but it is still a pain!

I thought only the right mouse button changed things, but you are right that the left does too.

Didn’t mean to be contrary. I was just saying that because of the way the wheels are designed, I cannot slot any more siege on the other wheels than I have on the first one, so they are of no use in my case.

They need to go back and rethink this implementation but I don’t know if that will happen.

I find the quickslot wheel so frustrating. Keeps coming up in the middle of trials for no reason and the only way to get rid of it is to go into my menu and back out again. Hopefully by then I haven't died.

I don't even use the wheel.
