Isn’t the first ring open to slot anything? Just use the front wheel and treat it like the old system?

    What am I missing here?

Unless you fill it up, that is. My first wheel is full of siege and I have even more in my inventory.

The op does not wish to be bothered by additional slots, it seems, meanwhile you are upset you don’t have enough.

I was simply pointing out that a player need not use the extra slots if they don’t wish to…

Ok…. I am done with this thread.

Didn’t mean to be contrary. I was just saying that because of the way the wheels are designed, I cannot slot any more siege on the other wheels than I have on the first one, so they are of no use in my case.

They need to go back and rethink this implementation but I don’t know if that will happen.

I have lots of possible spells to slot but only 5 allowable per bar. Making choices about what to slot is part of the game.

I dont mind the wheels but I have had it happen multiple times in combat where I have tried to swap potions and it has swapped wheels and locked the UI, I cannot enter a memento or tool in combat and cannot close the wheel.
    I am on PS5
Figured a way out was just press middle touchpad for map.

There are at least 8 threads of this topic already. They were written when the new wheels came out and everyone realized they couldn't be used for anything we want and were restricted to items that don't need to be quick slotted in the first place.

I have not been able to select something from the extra wheels. at all and have ended up on them some times.
So disabling them is something I will do.
Companions and service followers I simply summon from the menus, but I think companions should come back then you dismissed the service npc like pets did before.

I always found the wheel very clunky, it works for sieges who you have some time selecting. Run dropped magic or stamina or crown tristat, then switches to crafted then things get a bit hairy, but its not something I can change in an fight, again going to collection is just as fast.

Is it some addon who has an better option like ALT+number to select hotslot item 😺
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

That is not really the same thing. I have a bunch of new wheels but they are empty because I can’t put what I want on them. It’s the way this was implemented. Someone thought grouping things up was the way to go but not everyone needs a whole wheel for emotes or whatever.

personally, I would prefer instead of those not-so-quick-selection-polymodal-wheels to have plain and direct keybindings: one key -- one slot/action. This is the KISS, after all.

It is pretty much the same thing.

Each layer of the wheel is designed for a certain thing. (Emotes, companions, etc.) We have far more emotes than what we can slot. And we will eventually have more companions/assistants than what we can slot. But we are limited in what we can slot.

Just as I cannot slot spells into the quick slot areas, I cannot put say my banker on my spell bar.

We are limited in what we can slot. We have to make choices. .

Should there be a pvp centric ring? Sure I can see that. I would also love a personality quickslot ring. But that is a different request than what the OP of this thread is concerned about.

You're missing an additional layer here.
Both traditional consumables(food, potions) and pvp siege/repairs can only be slotted on the main wheel, and given that you can't change what's on that wheel while in combat, and how common it is to be stuck in combat for extended periods of time while in Cyrodiil, people get stuck without the appropriate items frequently.
The other wheels are of no value in this situation, and most of them (tools, mementos, allies/assistants) aren't even usable in Cyrodiil.

So far my Quickslot Wheels haven't opened in combat since I removed the keybindings but they never should be opening on their own anyway.

They do still open whenever I use an item that can be placed in a Quickslot wheel, though. For instance when I go to Collections to choose a Companion it brings up the companion wheel. I don't want to use this wheel and find it very irritating that these are always popping up in my face.

Please give us a way to completely toggle these extra wheels off if we choose not to use them.

I understand. I even said asking for a pvp centric wheel is not a bad idea.

Often times in a trial I wish I had additional space for a spell. Or I made a mistake before the pull and I don’t have time to swap out my wgats on my limited bar. It’s part of the game to not have 100% of your options available to you all the time.

None of this though is related to the OP wanting to disable the ring system though.

Thanks for sharing these tips, I'll try the unbind thing because I've also been stuck shuffling between the wheels mid-combat and it's really frustrating especially when you are raiding or in pvp.

Why does it need to be disabled? Just don't scroll through them? Click and Hold Q. Don't use the right or left mouse button.

As I previously stated, these wheels were opening when I was in the middle of combat causing me to die because I couldn't use the rejuvenation potion I had slotted. I am not intentionally scrolling through them.

These should not be opening on their own and this needs to be investigated. Players who do not wish to use these additional wheels should have a way to toggle them off.

Maybe they should expand the wheel from 8 to 12 or more. The current multi-wheels are inafective and they are not very user friendly when trying to add to them.

They definitely aren't effective when you are in combat. I think the wheels are fine for many things (selecting a companion, for example) but in combat they don't work well, and are mistake prone when you are hurrying to change objects in the middle of a big boss fight. Frankly I think they should keep the wheel but it would be nice to have (say) 2-3 other fixed slot items on your bar for things like potions. I know there's only so much they could do on the bar to enable console gaming, but it would be nice to see a way there could be some way to do that.
