Wayshrines are so wrong , in citys they are more then 1 minute riding from crafting

I am honestly baffled here. I can only play 2-3 hours a day, and I do not care that at the end of the day to process all the loot I need to run between the bank and craft 30 times. It takes 1/4 of my daily time, but it allows me to make a plan for the next day, relax my eyes and is otherwise good break. Why someone who plays 15 hours a day does care? Boring? Rushing through to vet rank? They need breaks more than I do...

Now, what I would do, I would make running exhaust stamina. Maybe then we will see nice walking people in towns, that will tip their hats to you as you leisurely walk by on the way from the bank to the smithy...

I would also charge for any wayshrine use distance-dependent amounts of money. Otherwise it is like taking 10 minute drive around the block which can be crossed on foot in 5 min. Good thing you don't need to spend 10 min finding parking for your horse around the wayshrine.

You are not wasting time, you are playing the game, to which travel is part. This is not supposed to be a math equation of teleport, craft, sell, craft, bank, log alt , withdraw back, log back, deposit, travel, quest etc. It's a story and a universe, you get off a wayshrine and walk into a city. IF anything it is GOOD planning - you wouldn't want to put your travel point which is the busiest point, in the middle of a marketplace.

    Stop crying, enjoy the GAME.

i pay about 10 cent a hour for internet electricity + teso

By your own words, you have infinite time. So what is the problem with riding to a city then? I really do not mean to seem insensitive, but come on, you are actually countering your own argument. If you had said "I only get 60 minutes of game time every day, of which I spent 10 minutes with pointless riding", I would have sympathised more.

I completely understand where the OP is coming from. Only from his standpoint that he plays so much per day. If I were ESO I would keep an eye on players like this as I would not want potential health issues on my shoulders. At the end of the day $14.95 on one or even a select few customers.

I really hope he is over hyping how much he plays per day. But if it is true, I can understand exactly how running is a time sink.

For me personally I don't notice. But I can picture being in his shoes.

Wow, so now Zen have to be responsible for our own self control?

Sorry I'm disagreeing with this whole topic. If people are unable to accept there are time sinks in these games (and this is pretty petty) then really, move on to a Solo RPG where everything is designed around the one character for convenience

    Just don't play Dark Souls 1 or 2 !!

your wasting more then 5% of your time

running around the same track 50 times

takes about 10 minutes of 60 minutes game play

    wasting time

    which you pay for

    doing nothing usefull for ureself

Technically you are wasting your time playing around with bits of information being displayed to you. all games are technically time wasters. fun glorious time wasters. I envy you sir

While we're at it, why not move the boss of each dungeon to just inside the entrance, why should anyone have to spend time actually travelling through a dungeon. Better still place the bosses in the middle of town. That way you can log on, hold your left mouse button for an hour or two and then log off. No 'wasted time' at all.

It never ceases to amaze me what people will find to complain about. A whole minute, and several times! The torture of it!

I'd have a beer but it's a waste of my time to walk to the fridge.....

I'm all for new ideas/opinions but really? I see no problem where wayshrines are at. You sit around and calculate how much time you use running from wayshrine to crafting areas "oh its a waste of time, that i pay for, its so wrong." --to that i say you need to get out a little more.

Just need to take a queue from EQ1 and go back to XP loss on death, and having to retrieve corpses of you wanna keep your gear. Then people won't have time to complain about these useless things, and maybe finally be happy with what they have.....i know...wishful thinking.

Or, maybe just give us all the ability to click twice on the map, and bam , teleport to that point! How much time would that save? Loads! More time to craft and quest and err.. to waste more time? :D:D

IMHO, OP, there is a program called Excel that does spreadsheets. I suggest that you play with these, and create your own perfectly optimized experience, instead of a role playing game in a world that is fun immersive and surprisingly organic looking and beautiful. Think about the Lore, and what reason things have for being where they are, as part of the rich history of this particular fiction. I personally think that crafting is too quick and easy as it is, and is a part of the game that draws away from the immersion factor. MinMaxers, TheoryCrafters or whatever, they are all the same - looking for a perfect output of cold, unfeeling, NUMBERS. Which I understand, because people do dream of becoming CPAs when they grow up, but I pity that they don't get more out of the experiences offered to them.

Right, obviously you missed the point. TESO obviously would want the potential bad publicity of people keeling over at their desks because of this game. Looks really good. There have been numerous articles of this happening across a spectrum of games.

Listen, play how you want, but I wouldn't want it on my shoulders if stupid avoidable things were to happen with my customers. Zen shouldn't be responsible for your self control at all, but I wouldn't go near a potential PR nightmare as a company if there are a decent amount of people who practice this type of gaming.

    Quick Edit:
I would rather be proactive as a company than just wait out a potential hazard and deal with it then, even though it may never happen.

I RP mostly at the INN's. And wayshrines are generally 1.5min from the Inn. Soo we'll need one there and at the stables since I have to feed my horse alot too.

My point being is that they cant please everyone and jsut becuase YOU want it somewhere doesnt mean others dont want it somewhere else. What about the people porting to a city to get to a quest giver jsut outside they city?

Why are we even discussiong this anyway. OP This is not really a customer service issue its much more of a feedback issue and really would probably get to the right people if you did a /feedback in game. Devs dont read this forum.

That's a slippery slope. There are many products where the consumer has to be responsible. Alcohol, Cigarettes, Fast Cars, Firearms, World of Warcraft (who openly supported South Parks representation of an unhealthy player) and roll with the "bad press"

I am surprised though that there are no "warnings" before login to remind people to "take a break". I think a few games are doing that now to avoid future legal action

But really, TESO is nothing different than the plethora of games out there, I don't think it is high on the list for their PR to be worried about supporting an unhealthy lifestyle

And then we do need to keep it in context this all started because some guy doesn't like taking a minute to ride to town

Never said ZEN would be responsible for any of that and believe me there are always bad publicity of the things you listed especially for health reasons. Games in general can all be avoidable.

Yup it may not be on their radar, was just saying if it were me :)

I only have to live with what I see in the mirror daily. I would not want to put people in such positions or know about it. Again, I am not a multi [insert dollar amount] company so your probably right.

Well to be fair we have a player base of up to 1+ million and only those with issues come here so luckily it's not representative of the community in game
