Im on console so I didn’t get to experience the update yet. I know everyone was salty about it in the beginning but after a few days of playing how are y’all on PC liking the update ?

How is vet content like trials ? You find it harder, easier or the same ?

I also play stamplar pve dps so anyone who plays the same id like to know your experience so far to.

    Not.
Completely unnecessary bunch of changes that didn’t fix anything, but just changed everything up so you have to spend a lot of time figuring out your optimal build again, learn a new rotation (with lots of boring spamable) and for what? To hit a bit less, that is actually 20+% less because they buffed the dummy. And what you want to do is run trials and dungeons with friends, but there are less trials because so many people left.

For starters, jabs/sweeps got significantly nerfed (over 20%). It also has a new animation that makes it feel extremely floaty, does not align well with where you’re aiming, and doesn’t give good feedback about what you’re hitting. The new animation also has a habit of tripping over itself if you cast it several times in a row, which you might well be doing if it’s on your bar because it’s, you know, a spammable.

Burning Light got nerfed 67% by the math. It also does not require any class skills to proc anymore. That sometimes feels freeing and sometimes feels like it’s just adding to the undermining of class identity, along with the fact that our class spammable is outparsed by generic weapon or guild equivalents (Rapid Strikes, Silver Shards) and Deadly Strike is outparsed by Pillar of Nirn.

Despite declaring in the patch notes that ground DoTs would have 10-15 second timers, ZOS extended Ritual of Retribution to 20 seconds and made it much more heavily backend loaded, so recasting it early is severely punishing on top of the nerf to DoTs in general. It has also been ignored since Week 3 of the PTS, when ZOS reverted ground DoT timers to that 10-15 second range instead of 20+ with an explicit acknowledgment of the pain point caused by ground DoTs needing to be recast often in actual content. So they forgot about Ritual for seven weeks in a row, or they don’t understand that 20 is not between 10 and 15, or they think Ritual is not a ground DoT for some reason (even though it is targeted on the caster for the initial cast, it is not “sticky” - it does not follow us or the enemy). Or there is some other reason why they think Ritual should behave like this, but since they haven’t bothered to provide a comment in those seven weeks, it’s impossible to know what they’re thinking when it comes to this skill right now.

There was no compensation for the nerfs to stamina templar unless you count the AoE portion of Jabs (which does not help damage on bosses) or run Radiant Oppression, which got buffed. If you run that execute, though, you’re going to be running bloodthirsty jewelry like everyone else (rather than infused, which was previously BiS on stamplars alone), and at that point you might as well just spec into magicka so you can parse a bit higher. To claw back some of the lost single-target damage on stamplar currently relies on using generic sets and copying as much of the magplar setup as you can sustain, substituting a generic class or guild spammable to accommodate the low mag pool and regen.

I unsubbed for the first time since I returned in 2021. I didn't uninstall ESO in case ZoS walks this back - and I think there's a 100% change of significant walk backs; it's just a question on if it'll be in time to salvage the end game scene or if it'll be in 3 months after the rot sets in.

my rotations are a lot easier now thanks to dots being 20 secs, i love it

ppl talk about dps and this and that. what care the most is how smooth everything is, how easy to handle. that's what comes first to me. and that update made my gameplay easier.

that being said, i was also able to either not sure a arena wep or use poison injection master bow.

Finaly i got rid of endless hail, it's christmass for me,

We are only 9.5 weeks out from the typical release date for Q4, so we should see the next Combat Preview in 3 weeks and the first PTS iteration of U36 the following Monday. It is thankfully the shortest gap between updates in the yearly schedule. I hope they take the opportunity to address the multitude of pain points they’ve introduced with U35. I understand it’s too late for many, though.

lets see..... Skills nerfed, passives nerfed, sets nerfed, cp bonuses nerfed, 10% damage reduction added, only select bosses reduced by 10% rest of content remains same hp...

(EDIT) - skill timers added/changed, proc timers and delays added/changed also. ()

the only ones who came out of it slightly less worse than the rest are DK & NB..

basically they cut everyone off at the knees to give the impression the floor was raised, while putting the ceiling a bit further out of reach

Sadly I think the short gap is likely to work against the current situation. Still over a week till it hits consoles, and so only a couple of weeks between that and next combat update.

If that combat update doesn’t show a significant change in direction, then folks who normally would have participated very actively on the PTS just aren’t going to. They are worn out.

Chances are very high that there won’t be any major direction changes and that U36 week 1 PTS will be the week that lots of folks will click subscribe - to a competitor, and commit to an extended break from ESO.

    We’ll see.

We got changes that made combat worse and there are seemingly no QoL changes. Usually there’s some neat housing update but nothing there for a while. This is far and away the worst patch. Will it kill the game? No but it made the game worse while doing nothing to improve it.

As above mentioned, no QoL updates. Player experience is down dramatically, Players had a large amount of power stripped from them with a half-baked attempt to repair some aspects of it. Developers made some undesirably negative comments towards the community and got so much backlash that it resulted in news articles being made. (This is not baiting etc, this is what happened.)

Accessibility was the stated goal to which was only negatively impacted by this patch, dot damage drastically went down proc set damage carries most DPS. Keep in mind not too long ago we had to buff player scaling and the stats of sets so that proc sets wouldn't be the carrying metric for DPS and now we've backtracked AGAIN to this problem.

A huge amount of unrequested and unwanted changes were made that have caused a large number of players to leave while a lot of players express feeling ignored by the developers, unfortunately.

I guess U35 was an unexpected boon to have the time to play the formerly Playstation Exclusive Spiderman title on Steam since I'm no longer raiding multiple times per week.

Thanks for letting me know everyone. Going to enjoy my extremely high dps on my stamplar and clear all these vet trials and arenas before it hits console. If the dps for stamplar is as bad as everyone is making it seem, looks like I will be off for a while myself unless dungeons/trials can be done as smoothly as I can get them done now. If jabs is not usable anymore im definitely done with the game lol jabs is my favorite skill. Sounds dumb if a class spammable is providing noticeably less dps compared to a weapon/guild skill. If this is the case may as well get rid of classes.

It will be a disappointment working so hard on getting to the dps output I was finally able to get to after 3 years to have it taken away from me, but thanks to you all im prepared for the worse lol so at least I won’t be suprised

    Overall thumbs down from me.

For a templar, Jabs just got easier to weave within the one second cooldown, but because it was nerfed, it is more important that your weave be spot on.

Ok. So I must admit that I do really like the new donkey inventory pet. Looks cute, runs cute, the donkey braying cracks me up, and it gives me more inventory space. What's not to like?!?!?
