Should non-PvP'ers wear Green Colored Clothing for "Do not attack, just here for ticket quests" ?

    How about this:

Folks who are OK with the possibility of getting farmed multiple times for AP and/or Telvar should go to Cyrodiil and IC during the event to get their tickets

Folks who are not OK with the possibility of getting farmed multiple times for AP and/or Telvar should do their daily quests before the event starts, and turn them once per day during the event.

I choose the second option, at least for IC daily quests. Because I find IC to be a gankfest during the event, with multiple people waiting in sneak at campable locations. Now Cyrodiil, the daily scout quests are usually OK, it would take more gankers than there are to watch all the possible places in Cyrodiil that you could get sent to on your scouting quest.

NO. They should be worthy for the event ticket, and learn to defend/hide
Non-pvp'ers should just skip the event if they are so scared of dying in a video game.

But if you want the rewards, you have to participate in the purpose of the event. Pvp players aren't making threads on how they should be able to get event tickets from going 50-0 in bg's during Undaunted dungeon event.

If you want the rewards, participate in the event.
If you are so averse to PVPing, don't play it. No one is forcing you to.

I just make sure I have 12 tickets on each account whenever it's Mayhem or the IC event. Been really easy the last couple of years, as there's really nothing I want other than the pet these last quarterly morph-its. This year at least, if the final morph is really a neat housing item, I'll want that too - but the end of year events are far more fun and interesting for me than anything pvp ever could be, and there should be plenty of tickets beginning with the Witches event..

That is not PvP. That is just the killer being a jerk, and has nothing to do with PvP.

    IRL some people are jerks.

You could avoid them, or gear up for PvP and try to farm them.

For this event, I choose avoid. I find that I can do enough IC daily quest before the event starts so that I can turn in one per day for the entire event. In Cyrodiil, you can try town quests during the event, with the risk of getting farmed multiple times. Or you can try scouting events, where in an mostly empty campaign you may not see another enemy player during your entire quest.

I can't think of an easier way to very loudly broadcast to all hostile players within range "free AP located right here!"

To answer your question, no, you should probably just learn to sneak and bring invisibility potions that way people can't see you at all.

Still the same for me: PvP is PvP. If a PvEer wants something that is in PvP, then play the content. Why should PvEers have a special status? PvPers don't get special status when they have to do something in PvE... (I'm a PvEer).

A lot of players have their first experience with pvp during the event and to be honest, it's usually not a great one. If you want more focus on pvp then it's not in your best interest to turn players away from it.

Honestly, this is one of the best times to dip a toe into PvP, because this event brings in more players of various skill. Unlike trying outside of the event and going against players who PvP all day, everyday. Yes there are toxic people, but, personally, I've found people to be generally more relaxed and helpful. It's the one time of year where I've actually had a member of a different faction stop their group from attacking because I was just doing the daily in IC (not necessary because I'm a PvPer, but very kind all the same). If players absolutely hate the experience, during the event, then they just don't like PvP, which is completely fine.

LOL! This will only make PvPers go: "Oehw, easy target!"

We should just not have PvP events.

Because zeal of zenithar was such a great event. "spend 5k at a guild trader" great job! your daily is done. Here's your tickets and reward box.
Yes it was. Got my tickets by excavating every day, and noone could prevent me from getting those tickets. Zeals of Zenithar event also made me get rid of over 800 master writs I had saved up. Which got me quite a few resources and companion gears. 10/10 event.

This is the logic I don't understand from complainers. This is exactly the purpose of events, which is to incentivize players to do content they wouldn't normally do, while simultaneously rewarding those who already do it. I don't enjoy killing dragons, WB/DB, doing daily dungeons, etc. However, it's entirely up to me, as a player, to determine how much I am incentivized to do the activities I normally have no desire to do. If you really don't like the content, there is nothing to prevent you from simply not doing it. If you really want the rewards, you just have to suck it up and do content that you don't like every once in a while. PvPers should be allowed to enjoy an event and be rewarded for activities in content they already do. So why is this event always controversial?

PVP events are dumb. PVP should not be required for the tickets for the annual festival rewards.

    [snip]

    *Sidenote

Gankers try to kill anyone and everything unsuspecting everyday. That's their "role". Don't take it as a personal attack. I get ganked every single time I go to IC or Cyro (which is almost everyday). Also, be mindful that some of the quest givers are in towns (Bruma, Cropsford, Vlastarus, ) that are worth resources and points for alliances. If an enemy alliance needs to capture it, they will try to, regardless of who is there.

Another tip for PvErs is to check the chat and map for info on where players are going, and where fights are breaking out. Avoid those areas if you don't want to PvP. Stay away from main roads, and use invisibility pots to be less noticeable. And last, but not least, avoid the main PvP campaigns Gray Host and Blackreach.

Yeah, but you know, when pvpers do pve, they only have to worry about the npc bosses, npc mobs, and npc critters attacking them. They don't have to worry some super special competitive player character will keep interrupting, attacking and killing them over and over and over and over simply because that is their idea of "fun".

I'm going to be honest with you, when I'm in the middle of a battle or see a player coming at me, the last thing I notice is the color of their clothes. All I see is the flag over their head.

With that being said, I try not to attack players who are clearly questing. But if you are running at me when I'm headed for a fort, and don't seem to be avoiding me, I have no time to check and see what color you have on.

The best thing a strictly pve player can do for themselves is to learn how to read the signs on the map that a battle is near, and familiarize themselves with the topography of Cyro so that you can go out of your way to avoid combat. It is absolutely possible to avoid combat when you learn how pvp players will move across the map. I've spent many peaceful hours there harvesting unbothered while a battle is raging, it's totally possible!

I used to be a pve only player too. I know how difficult it can be to face cyro and the mentality of certain people there. But it can be quite a bit of fun when you utilize the tools available to you and learn how groups move and what their main targets and goals are when fighting in Cyro.

As for IC, that's a different animal entirely. But again, I wouldn't notice what color your wearing in IC either. It's too cramped, quarters are too close to risk getting caught unawares by assuming someone else is a quester.

The name calling of players who actually enjoy PvP is ridiculous.

You'll die, you'll respawn, and tomorrow forget it ever happened. It's a PvP zone, you should expect to get killed, maybe don't roll into Cyro/IC with PvE gear to stay alive a little longer?

Or they could of just given the option to get the event tickets in another form, like a crafting quest for war supplies etc.

Locking event tickets in a PVP zone for a game where 90+% of the population has no interest in PVP is just bad design.

And let's not pretend that forcing non-pvp players into Cyrodil for ticket dailies is anything but feeding fodder to potential griefers. People running around with PVE specs/gear have virtually no chance of even defending themselves. Go into a battleground with a PVE setup and see how well you fair lol

I have no problem with a PVP event itself, also fine with it having unique rewards. But event tickets locked to Cyrodil is just bad. Not when they tie future rewards to the ability of farming them for morphs.

I don't think a neutral flag would work, but if you are a better than awful PVPer, it would be nice if you could kill people after they grab the skyshard.

I suspect that you will have zero problem killing them after they get the skyshard because the pvpers picked up the skyshard years ago.
