✭✭✭✭✭I like the idea of having a way for players who don't want to PvP to signal that, but I'm not convinced it would work. Firstly a tiny minority of players visit the forum and they won't all see this topic so the majority won't know it means anything. Secondly some would deliberately troll them, as they do now with anyone they suspect is there for PvE or anyone they see doing quests.
I still think it could be a good idea to have some sort of identifier, mainly as a way to signal to each other that they're not going to attack so if someone who just wants to do the quest sees another player wearing green or whatever they know not to worry about them.
I also think some PvPers could have fun counter-trolling the gankers by 'dressing up' as PvEers and then fighting back. Of course the majority of gankers would just run because they're unwilling or incapable of fighting anyone who fights back, so it wouldn't be real PvP but it could still be fun.

They should be worthy for the event ticket, and learn to defend/hideNo, because regardless of the event it's fair game and within the rules (though it is kind of lame, because if you are a serious pvper what kind of fight do you expect to get from a quester), so if you want to participate you have to go through the activity in question. Scouting dailies are the safest, pick a campaign where the scouting missions takes you somewhere near a keep you hold in your alliance so you don't have to ride away to enemy territories and when you approach you can stealth while you are scouting. Then if it's an enemy resource you can wipe at the NPCs and death-port to the base, for an easy quest completion.4 -

Then some roleplayer browse by and think he's safe. Then he goes through the trouble to dye all his armor green, login to cyro for some safe, quick tickets only to have an absolute army of people chasing him down.
"No! No! I'm green!? The forum told me I would be safe!? What happened?!!"
But hey sounds like a fun idea. +1 for green safety. Come thursday if I see people decked in green I'll try to not kill them.

✭Cyrodil is basically a roleplay mode for bads.
Which is why your idea will not work. Your chances of finding someone who actually values even vaguely decent PvP (also known as an actual PvPer), that therefore isn't interested in rolling their face across the keyboard against some guy who won't fight / is new / is terrible, is pretty slim.
The excitement over Midyear Mayhem is a fine example of that. To an actual PvPer, someone interested in decent, skilled, competitve PvP gameplay, Midyear Mayhem is just making PvP that is already very weak in those respects even worse, yet the roleplayers of Cyrodil actually get excited about it.Edited by Sylosi on July 27, 2022 6:45PM5 -

Brainstorm here:I'd love a toggle switch that put a marker over my head that told people I was PVE --- and if they kill someone that has the toggle, there is a penalty.... .same as it would apply to ANYONE using the toggle, that attacked another player .... maybe a 50% penalty to exp, etc for X hours of actual play - like a reverse exp scroll, etc.

✭✭✭✭✭This idea is so easy to destroy. The moment I get attacked by someone wearing green that social contract ends, and now they all have to die since I can't trust them.
One example of a social contract that didn't work out is holding block means you don't want to be attacked.
I saw a Nightblade in the Imperial City cloak while heading my way and I held block. I did it so when the Nightblade hit me I wouldn't get stunned, however this Nightblade thought it meant I didn't wanna fight. Far from in fact because I was fully prepared to kill him.... and I did. Found him, tore him out of cloak with magelight, and lit him up.
Then I started getting very angry tells thinking my defensive tactics was me standing down or something like that.

✭✭Other. Brainstorm here:If you go to color or some sort of signal to say you are not a pvper; for every player that would let you go, there will be one looking for that soft target. And there would be those using it to then attack players who thought they were not a threat so could increase chances you get targeted.

I'm not a pvper, I have no intention of becoming one. But I love the IC and Cyro zones. I go in to IC before it gets too nutty (like right now) and do the dailies for turn in during the event. I enjoy every minute of it because it adds some true peril to the game, unlike the majority of questing/overland (I also don't mind questing/overland being the way it is, this isn't a dig on that).
I am not optimized for PVP and I've been killed a few times. I don't care. I'm never carrying enough Tel Var to make it a big loss anyway.

I agree, I carry as few Tel'var stones as is possible for me to do...... if you are going to be one of the sociopaths, you will not get much profit on it with me.

If you had a green tabard/white flag system, you can guarantee that the meh players would go for those players.
Also, I would imagine that the system would be subverted by players pretending to be questing and then gank or spy on enemy territory.2 -

Yes, I get frestrated when I get ganked in Imperial City 5 times in a row on the way to the simplest of quests, and yes I will even scream and yell, but I still say never.
